“Aren’t you glib-tongued? Makes me wonder what else you could do with that…” she covered her mouth with one hand as she giggled.

“My name is Baiju. You and I, Zixuan, I think we’ll get to know one another very well soon enough… I have been waiting for-”

“Well, if it isn’t the old witch… Already preying on a youngun when he has barely even been here for a day? Shame on you!” interrupting Baiju, a rugged male voice suddenly boomed from their right, just as the woman was getting awfully close to grabbing a handful of Edrick’s pouch through his pants.

Baiju rolled her eyes.

“Shut the hell up! This is for a good cause. Look at him! He is just twenty-one years old, and he already has a fully fused bloodline, a physique, is built like a real man, amongst many other things! Do you think it is common for someone of the clan to have all of these traits and have such impressive fertility? I am trying to make some pure-blooded babies here. What are you doing?” Baiju snapped back at the arriving man, who, compared to her, seemed far less well put together.

He was balding quite severely and wore dark brown robes, yet his dark eyes confirmed his identity as a member of the main branch. What was most prominent about him, however, was his moustache.

It was thick and rough, stretched across his upper lip and his face. In fact, it was longer than his head. To top it off, he was carrying a half-drunk bottle of booze in his right hand, giving him the look of a bumbling drunkard rather than a respected member of a great clan.

“Still doesn’t make it any less funny how quick you are to show up whenever there is a young man anywhere within the clan that you haven’t yet molested… I mean, weren’t you supposed to be away for a month? How the hell did you even know that he was going to show up?”

“It’s instincts, Wenxiong… I can smell the potential from across the continent!” Baiju shook her head.

“I don’t mind. In fact, it would be an honour” Edrick winked with a smile.

“Thank the gods for that! Let’s meet and get to know one another better someday. I’ll send you a letter inviting you to my private residence, alright~?” Baiju licked her lips as she got one last feel of the scion’s abs before walking away. Clearly very satisfied.

Wenxiong drank from his bottle, walking up next to Anoteros.

“My big sister might look young and charming, but she and I both are ancestors of the clan, ya know?” he explained “And frankly, she is a bit infamous amongst the young men of the clan. She says that it’s for the purpose of producing offspring, but she’ll get her way even if they don’t have the fertility to put a new scion in her”

“Both options sound fine to me. Besides, it isn’t much to do for an ancestor who helped build the clan” replied Edrick as he turned to Wenxiong. The moustached man was laughing.

“I had heard that you were lustful, but it seems that I had underestimated you! We might have something in common if you really are… One of the cultured” he put the bottle of booze down.

“Tell me, Zixuan… Have you tried beast taming?”

“I have not, but it was something I was thinking about”

“Good, I myself am a beast tamer. I only have one beast by my side, and I pour all my focus and resources into her in particular. “In this case, you can count on me, Zixuan. I’ll help you find one or more beasts for you to tame. I will tell you about the best techniques there are! I sense a lot of potential in you. Though I have the feeling that you aren’t the sort to only focus on a single companion, but we’ll see this later” Wenxiong laughed boisterously as he grabbed his bottle and downed it all whilst walking away.

Once both ancestors were gone, Edrick brought out the family book and skimmed through it until he found the pages about them.

Indeed, Baiju and Wenxiong were siblings. However, they were from such an old generation that they were just referred to as ‘ancestors’ for simplicity’s sake.

Considering the longevity of the average Elt clan member, they weren’t exactly what would be called ‘elders’ of the clan.

The true oldheads wouldn’t just be wandering around like that. They tended to remain in seclusion. Only showing up on certain occasions.

Still, they were far from being nobodies. They were some of the more famous members of the Elt clan.

Wenxiong, in particular, with his beast companion, a ‘Bloodbath Hyena’.

Baiju, on the other hand… She was more famous within the clan than outside of it. Her methods were a bit tricky, and it seems like whatever she did when outside was never something that she allowed to spread.

Anoteros looked around and, seeing that no one else was here, finally made his way out of the main building and went back to his residence.
