Chapter 22: Boxing

“Violet.”

Nyxara was surprised. For some reason, she immediately knew it was her.

She smiled brightly. “What?”

Myles asked, “Do you know about the Blood Knight’s blood bursting into flames?”

Nyxara’s eyes widened. “How did you know that? In the first place, do you already possess information about the innate demonic arts and demonic martial arts you acquired?”

Myles did not say anything in reply.

Myles chuckled. “I’m used to disarming a self-destructive person anyway.”

Nyxara rolled her eyes.

Myles said, “It’s not that they resort to self-destruction. The moment they burn their blood is the moment they die because their bodies are not flesh-first. They are blood-constructed beings wearing thin skin membranes.”

Myles suddenly stood up and walked towards her.

When she was about to finally be able to say something, Myles already smacked his lips with hers, and before she knew it, they went again full night without rest.

However, they lasted less longer than before. Myles quickly grew tired and ended up falling asleep atop Nyxara’s body, as the latter easily flipped him away from her.

She huffed for breath as she also soon fell into deep sleep.

When she was awakened, Myles was already awoken, beginning to wear a cloth. However, he instantly removed them.

He was surprised he did not like wearing one. In the first place, he only bought it out of Nyxara’s willingness to dress him.

It was the first time he wore it and he felt uncomfortable.

Nyxara asked, “What’s wrong? You didn’t like it?”

Myles nodded and said, “Yeah, I feel uncomfortable, for some reason. I will try to pick the clothes that are less uncomfortable for me, so I will get used to it.”

Nyxara was stunned. “How thoughtful of you.”

Myles shrugged. “Don’t students in the Royal Academy wear clothes anyway? I might as well have to get used to it.”

Nyxara rolled her eyes in annoyance.

Myles glanced at her and said, “Also, be ready. You want to train boxing, don’t you?”

Nyxara was taken aback.

She immediately sat up and said, “You should have woke me up sooner. Girls tend to take a lot of time to be ready, you know?”

“I don’t.”

Nyxara rolled her eyes and got ready.

As expected, even when Myles pressured her, she took half an hour to be ready, causing Myles to be speechless.

Myles ended up cleaning the mess on the bed and even rested for a while before Nyxara finished being ready.

Myles was lost for words and swore to himself he would force Nyxara to be ready half an hour earlier before him.

He glanced at Nyxara and the latter’s outfit was fitting and enchanting.

He asked, “Hey, how about we do it one more time?”

Nyxara rolled her eyes and said, “And wait half an hour more.”

Myles stood up and said, “Nevermind. Let’s go now.”

He went past him and was the first to open the door and leave. Nyxara giggled and followed him behind.

When they arrived in the training arena, the Blood Knights were already present.

There were a lot more of them than usual and the Commander was already waiting for Myles and Nyxara.

Other Blood Knights, who were absent yesterday, heard the news and gathered with their fellow Blood Knights.

Nyxara was walking in front of Myles, so when Nyxara arrived at the arena floor, every Blood Knights kneeled in one knee and lowered their heads.

They shouted at once.

“Good. You can now rise.”

She turned around and said, “Myles, you can lead them now.”

Myles walked past her, just in time the Blood Knight finally arose from their feet. They also raised their heads and glanced at Myles in silence.

Myles said, “Boxing is a martial art. It can’t be called demonic martial arts because it doesn’t require demonic energy. Though, you can enhance it with demonic energy.”

Everyone listened attentively, including Nyxara, who was already standing in front of him.

“Boxing is a hand-to-hand combat system focusing only on punching, footwork, and defense.

No kick.

No weapons.

No grappling.

Just fists, movement, timing, guard, and countering.”

The Blood Knights were intrigued. Like Nyxara, they wanted to ask, but Myles hasn’t given a green light for it yet.

Myles continued, “Making boxing one of the purest striking systems ever created.”

“Boxing is all about hitting without being hit.”

He paused, giving the Blood Knights to remember the boxing he executed during their training with him.
