Chapter 29: Guardian of Scarlet Bond

After their brief discussion, a Blood Knight knocked the library and entered.

He walked towards Nyxara after a while and kneeled in one knee in front of her.

He said, “Mistress, the Lady of Chains and Whisphered Vows asks for your presence. She is in her office.”

Nyxara nodded and said, “Mhm. I will go soon. Thank you for informing me.”

However, her bright smile seemed to be mingled with deceit.

Nyxara shuddered.

Nyxara smiled awkwardly. “I think your question scares me more than my mother’s words.”

The Guardian of Scarlet Bond was surprised. She blinked her eyes innocently and suddenly exploded into a hoot of laughter.

She shut the hand fan abruptly and wiped the tears coming off from her eyelids.

She said, “I didn’t even mean to.” She paused, composed herself, and stared at Nyxara with a smirk. “But, like what your mother said, I won’t babysit you. However, I will also give you an idea about what to look for in Noctyriss city, which houses the Royal Academy.”

Nyxara asked, “Your however made me expect about having a peaceful trip.”

The Guardian of Scarlet Bond giggled and did not say anything.

Nyxara sighed. She suddenly thought of Myles, so she stepped aside, letting her aunt have a clear view of Myles.

She waved her arms, pointing at Myles, and said, “I will introduce you to my knight, Auntie. This is Myles.”

The Guardian of Scarlet Bond was intrigued. She scrutinized Myles from head to toe.

She said, “What a fine hybrid.”

Myles chuckled and bowed.

“It’s an honor to receive praise from you, Guardian of Scarlet Bonds.”

“Oh?” The Guardian of Scarlet Bonds chuckled. “At least, you know the basic etiquette. As for the praise you said, we will know about that soon.”

She then turned towards the Lady of Chains and Whisphered Vows and asked, “My dear cousin, there’s something I would like to ask.”

The Lady of Chains and Whisphered Vows rolled her eyes and said to Nyxara, “My dear daughter, you can leave now. Also, I will only give you an hour to prepare. Don’t keep her waiting.”

Nyxara nodded and said, “I understand, my dear mother.”

“Awie. I would have liked the conversation more if she’s present.”

The Lady of Chains and Whisphered Vows said, “And I wouldn’t like you to be displeased at my daughter if she keeps you waiting.”

The Guardian of Scarlet Bond giggled. “You’re just making an excuse, so she won’t hear about what we’re about to talk about.”

Despite being curious about what the Guardian of Scarlet Bond meant, Nyxara didn’t hesitate at all to leave with Myles and prepare for their departure to the Royal Academy.
