Simon frowned deeply at the title of the book, and without hesitation, he picked the book.

He looked around, found an empty table and chair nearby, then he approached it and sat on it.

He looked at the title of the book for a few seconds, and so many thoughts appeared in his mind.

He was not a fool.

He could infer what the contents of the book would be, and these thoughts made him to have a strange feeling.

Was it budding anger?

Was it anxiety?

Was it sadness?

He wasn’t sure, but the title bothered him so much.

He inhaled deeply, then exhaled deeply.

“Can’t believe that I’m scared to open a damn book. So what if it’s what I’m thinking of? It doesn’t change a thing.”

Simon inhaled and exhaled once again, then he opened the book and began to read through it.

The first few pages of the book talked about how dreadful and terrifying the war between him and the Demon King of Death was.

The war was not a one day, two days, or three weeks event.

No.

It spanned for nearly two years, and it was a war that led to the death of over six million humans and demons combined together.

The book talked about the tribes and clans that were destroyed, and even some demon species that were either wiped out because of the war or were nearly extinct.

The book also stated certain battles between his comrades and some demons. It also stated how he fought and killed some powerful Demon Lords back then.

Simon only skimmed through all of these since he knew everything that happened.

In fact, some of what was written was false or just exaggerated.

Like for example, the book said he needed to fight one of the Death Knights of the Demon King for nearly three days before he came out victorious.

But he only needed three minutes to defeat the damn undead.

There were many exaggerations, but Simon did not mind.

He kept on skimming through the book till he reached the part where it mentioned the death of the Demon King.

He slowed down his reading speed, then he read out loud softly.

“Six days after the Demon King of Death died, the entire realm mourned, and the black and crimson moons wept for another six days.”

“Some say the moons were bleeding, while some say that they wept, but what all could agree on was that the bleeding/weeping of the moons led to a drastic rise in the concentration of demonic energy in the world.”

“Many found it strange. The death of our king led to many demons getting stronger at a fast rate.”

“The increase in the concentration of demonic energy was up to ten times the original amount, and many speculated that the demon realm was giving back all the demonic energy the Demon King of Death had in him.”

“Although this theory was not proven true, it led many to wonder just how much demonic energy the Demon King of Death had in his Demon Heart for the entire demon realm to experience so much increase in the concentration of demonic energy.”

Simon immediately scoffed when he read this part of the book.

’He was a damn necromancer and he could control over a million undead. If there was one thing that bastard had, it was an absurd reserve of demonic energy.’

’The bastard was one of the reasons why I focused a lot on improving my energy control because I could not match up to him in terms of the quantity of energy we both had.’

Simon shook his head softly as he decided to let go of these thoughts.

He continued reading.

“After some time, everybody got used to the new concentration of demonic energy, and a few even began to praise the Demon King of Death for his immense contribution to the demon realm.”

“The new concentration of demonic energy caused many demons to advance at a much faster rate, and it even gave birth to many more talents.”

“It looked like the demons were about to enter a new age of prosperity and advancement, but for some strange reason, no Demon Lord became a Demon King.”

“Many Demon Lords attacked the Kingdom of Death in order to find and obtain the relics, artifacts, and riches of the only Demon King of the demon realm.”

“The Demon Princes and Princesses of the kingdom tried to fight back and protect the Kingdom of Death, but at the end of the day, they failed.”

“It was not surprising though, the Kingdom of Death was the main force in the war against Earth. With their king fallen, and many of the strongest demons of the Kingdom of Death fallen, how could they withstand another battle against the surviving Demon Lords?”

“The Kingdom of Death was split into several pieces, and its riches were taken by the Demon Lords.”

“The surviving Demon Princes and Princesses of the Kingdom of Death were only left with crumbs of the once powerful kingdom.”

“There are rumors that they were also forbidden or made to swear an oath that would prevent them from becoming Demon Kings.”

Simon’s eyes flashed when he saw this, and his mind went to the six main kingdoms of the current demon realm.

’I thought the Kingdom of Death would be part, but it seems it’s not. Or if it is, then history might be more complex than it seems.’

’And I’ve not read anything about Hell Holes and Hell Stones till now.’

The gears in Simon’s mind spun with numerous thoughts, then he continued reading.

“I feel a little bit of pity for the Demon King of Death. When he was alive, he was the main deterring force against the earthlings and even the gods.”

“In my own opinion, the Demon King of Death is far more powerful than the current Demon Kings.”

“Well, it’s not surprising since they needed not only the help of hell stones, but also the… corpse of the… Demon… King of Death to become… Demon Kings.”

The moment Simon read this part, his eyes were wide open in shock, disbelief, and immense confusion.

’But how?’

’How come?’

’The bastard’s corpse was safely secured in my kingdom. I made sure to remove it from the Demon Realm, and I even placed protections around it so that only I could reach the corpse.’

’So how did the demons get his corpse?’

Simon’s eyes suddenly flashed with a light of realization and suspicion.
