“No. You’ll be fighting in one of the battles the Shadowgrave Clan as a whole fought in.”

The whole class was filled with surprise, and even Simon was the same.

Many could not help but wonder how they were going to partake in one of the battles the Shadowgrave Clan fought in.

This was most likely going to be a battle involving the Grave Lords and other members of the clan who were Demon Lords or Greater Demons.

How were they going to survive?

One of the first years could not help but raise his hand.

Instructor Amahi looked at him.

“Speak.”

The boy lowered his hand.

“How are we going to survive in a battle where Demon Lords and Greater Demons are also present?”

Instructor Amahi calmly shook her head.

“First of all, you don’t have to worry about that. We’re not fools and we know what to give you so that you can learn enough from it.”

“Also, you should know that if the Shadowgrave Clan is besieged right now or if we have to participate in a war right now, you would have to fight knowing that there are Demon Lords and Greater Demons in that battlefield.”

“You should always expect the worst on a battlefield.”

The boy’s expression behind his mask was extremely solemn, and so were the expressions of many of his classmates.

Instructor Amahi shifted her gaze from the boy to the other Initiates.

“The purpose of today’s class is for you guys to experience how it feels to be on a battlefield.”

“I’ll also be watching all of you from here to assess how you perform.”

Simon narrowed his eyes at these words.

“Before you enter, let me give you a little bit of information so that you won’t die so quickly.”

She paused for a moment, then she continued.

“The battlefield would take place at the Varkhess Bastion, a fortified city of the Bulwark Clan.”

Some of the first years looked at one another in confusion.

They had never heard of the Bulwark Clan, even Simon had never heard of the Bulwark Clan but he knew about Bulwark Demons.

’They were a tribe in my time, did they decide to advance from a tribe to a clan?’

Simon was curious, but he pushed his curiosity and thoughts to the back of his mind since it had no use to him.

“Many of you might not know of the Bulwark Clan because the Shadowgrave Clan eliminated them.”

The eyes of nearly all the first years widened in disbelief and surprise since they didn’t expect this.

Were they going into a battle where the clan won?

This was going to be easier than they expected.

Many had this thought and belief, and Simon could see it through their gazes and he could even hear the tiny whispers of a few.

He could see the relief and confidence in their eyes, and he could not help but shake his head slightly.

’Only if they knew that Bulwark Demons are one of an assassin’s worst nightmare.’

’And it seems the instructor doesn’t want to tell them. How unfortunate for them.’

Just as he had this thought, Instructor Amahi spoke.

“When you enter the battlefield, the Varkhess Bastion would already be in the middle stages of the siege and you’ll be in different places. However, some of you might be close to one another, so take note of that.”

She paused, then her gaze landed on Simon, causing him to raise a brow in surprise.

“Also, none of you must kill your fellow classmate or clan member.”

“The academy encourages competition and fighting in classes and between classes so that all of you might grow, but in times of war, you must all fight together.”

“And if you cannot fight together, then make sure you do not hurt or kill your classmate. I’ll be watching, and if I see that you hurt or kill your classmate in the battle, you’ll be punished severely for it.”

“Do you understand me?” She said with a cold tone while exuding thick killing intent.

Everybody nodded, and some nodded vehemently. They were terrified of the coldness and vastness of the killing intent she radiated.

Instructor Amahi nodded. “Good.”

She paused for a moment, then she glanced at her spear before sending it back into her spatial ring.

“For today, you’ll only be allowed to stay in the battlefield for a maximum of thirty minutes. Try and survive for as long as possible, and if you’re able to meet with a lieutenant, captain, or commander of the clan, you’ll be given a task to accomplish.”

“If you can successfully accomplish that task in today’s class, I’ll reward you with a thousand low grade hell stones.”

“Even if all of you accomplish the task of a lieutenant, captain, or commander, I’ll give each of you a thousand low grade hell stones.”

The eyes of nearly every Initiate in the class went wide.

They couldn’t believe what they had just heard, and even Simon was the same.

A thousand low grade hell stones?

That was a thousand merits, and for many, it was a lot of money.

Even Simon wanted the reward because he had spent so much money today.

’If this is how this class is going to be, I might fall in love with this class and the instructor. Not like that crazy military female instructor.’

Majority of the class became extremely interested in this class and they were extremely eager to enter the battlefield.

However, they had no idea that many of them would struggle to survive, talk less of accomplishing a mission of their superiors.

“Alright. All of you, step into the array and sit in one of the circles.”

Instructor Amahi gestured at the array and they all eagerly stepped into the array.

There were numerous circles around and they all chose one.

“Sit down with your legs crossed, then you close your eyes. For those of you that can enter your sea of consciousness, enter it so that you can quickly arrive at the battlefield.”

“And for those of you that cannot, don’t worry, the array would help you. Take note of the sensation though, you can learn how to enter your sea of consciousness from the Mind War Theatre Array.”

Simon easily entered his sea of consciousness, and the second he entered, he found himself falling.

’What?’

Before he comprehend what was going on, his environment changed and he began to hear loud noises all around him.

He was baffled at first, and he tried to look around him, but his instincts and shadow sense suddenly perceived a presence.

He looked down, and he saw a massive shadow covering his.

’Oh shit.’

Without hesitation, he jumped to the side.

A massive war hammer slammed into the ground where he previously stood.
