Chapter 85: Another Idiot
The last two weeks had been nothing short of revolutionary for Noah.
Since entering the academy, it was like his life had flipped completely.
He now had a room of his own, and the food…
It was the first time that Noah had eaten such food in his life.
Noah wasn’t delusional. He knew even if he had earned decent money in the outside world, he would never have been able to eat such premium food.
The food wasn’t premium in its taste alone, but every ingredient was added keeping in mind the total nutritional intake of the students.
The classes were, as usual, living up to their name.
There was this teacher named Elsa, whom Noah had begun to like.
Not only as a teacher… but also in a more romantic way.
Her red hair that freely flowed with the gentle breeze made him feel fresh just by being in her class.
Since Noah had discovered his talent, he had always known his limits.
As for his limits… he considered them limitless.
Quite the contradictory statement.
Noah always believed that with time and effort, he would soon rise to become the best in the world.
The strongest the world had ever seen.
And his confidence wasn’t unfounded.
Noah’s base talent, along with his cheat ability, had made him feel like a God born in mortal lands.
Maybe he was being arrogant.
But his arrogance was based on confidence.
His confidence in his superiority over everyone else around him.
So this very arrogance had made Noah’s desires more… aggressive.
He truly felt like he deserved everything in the world that he ever wanted.
And women being one of them.
Noah had never been disrespectful towards any girl in his eighteen years of life. But that didn’t mean that he considered girls equal to him.
He didn’t actively discriminate against them, but somewhere deep in his subconscious, he didn’t acknowledge them either.
Noah felt like it was a very normal thing.
His hypocrisy would never allow him to accept his narrow way of thinking.
But since his thoughts never had any effects on his surroundings, Noah had always managed to showcase himself as a hero before everyone he met.
He would keep helping people from time to time, even if the given help would yield him no benefit whatsoever.
Days quickly passed, and now it was time for the combat sessions to begin.
Noah’s hands were itching for a fight.
He wanted to be seen by everyone, to be admired and to be respected.
Noah never thought he had this side to him, but it was his inner self that sought validation.
Currently, he was on his way to the auditorium, accompanied by what many would consider a godly company.
“Will we be fighting our seniors too?”
Noah questioned the girl beside him.
Adjusting her blonde hair, Alicia just turned enough to get a proper look at his face.
“If you are so eager to fight, then why don’t you challenge an instructor yourself? Surely that would be more thrilling than fighting some seniors who are what—a year or two older than you.”
Diana chuckled lightly at Alicia’s statement.
At first, Diana had wanted to know more about this guy—Noah.
But maybe it was fate… there had been no need for her to do anything, as it was Alicia who initiated the conversation.
As all three of them—well, four if Kevin was included—sat in the foremost seats in the class, there were bound to be chances to initiate a natural conversation.
And Alicia, surprisingly, had taken an interest in this guy with a unique shade of black and white hair.
Though Alicia had described the interest as something casual and done out of curiosity… Diana had other thoughts.
But she kept them to herself, not the least interested in angering her friend.
And to everyone’s surprise, it had been Noah who was the most interested in talking with them.
Diana had expected some sort of resistance from him, but there was none.
It was as if all of them were destined to become friends.
And Noah’s tastes in literature and general geopolitics matched theirs, which led to all of them spending more time with each other.
Noah had a serious expression on his face as he debated over the choice presented by Alicia.
“Man! It was meant to be a joke. Don’t get all serious over every other thing my sister comments on.”
Kevin ruffled Noah’s hair in an attempt to mess up his hairstyle.
But Noah, true to his habits, fixed his hair in a heartbeat.
The guy had serious concerns over his image.
“But jokes aside, I hope whatever activities they have planned would be group ones instead of individual exams.”
Kevin tapped his chest twice in a gesture of hopeful prayer.
“And even if they are group activities, what makes you think we will be in the same groups?”
Alicia asked in an even tone.
But it was that calm voice that felt like a thorn in Kevin’s heart.
Why was he always the first one to make dumb statements, even after having another idiot in his group?
His gaze shifted to Noah, who was now walking ahead of them.
They had reached near the entrance of the auditorium, but a huge crowd had just blocked the passage.
“They never learn.”
Diana sighed.
“It doesn’t matter what your behaviour is… at the end of the day, Namda values only strength and nothing else.”
Kevin nodded at the statement.
“So should we wait, or try to enter on our own?”
At Noah’s question, Alicia thought for a moment.
“Let’s just stand on the side. After all, the session would only begin when everyone arrives.”
Being on the same page, the four of them made their way to the space just near the right side of the entrance, only to freeze in their tracks.
Silence.
Everyone in the vicinity seemed to have frozen too.
And who could blame them?
An invisible pressure had swept across the entire area.
