But before he could react, a girl beside the loudmouth rolled her eyes and clapped back, “Your mum would crawl over here and lick his feet if she saw him.”

He caught the girl who said it eyeing him with a little smirk of her own. She sat tall, olive-skinned, with a piercing gaze and sharp cheekbones. Not bad at all.

Liam smirked, “So no charming old ladies? Got it.”

Lilith rolled her eyes but didn’t say anything more. Soon, they reached a row of guest rooms—each door large and polished with golden handles. Lilith opened one for herself and tossed a card key toward Liam, pointing to the next door.

“Get some rest,” she said. “You’ll need it.”

Liam caught the key and gave a lazy salute. “Yes, boss.”

As he stepped inside the quiet room, the door closing behind him with a soft thud, he leaned against it for a moment and exhaled.

Tomorrow’s going to be interesting.

But for now, he needed sleep—and maybe to finally check what the system had been pinging him about all day.
