The sleek black car tore through the night, its tires screeching as it approached a towering iron gate. The two men inside were breathing heavily, their knuckles white as they gripped the steering wheel and the edges of their seats. Fear clung to them like a second skin, their nerves shot to hell after what they had just witnessed.

As the vehicle reached the entrance, the massive gate groaned open, allowing them passage into the vast estate beyond. The moment the way was clear, the driver slammed his foot down on the accelerator, sending the car speeding through the long, winding driveway, past the meticulously maintained gardens, past the statues of men whose faces bore cold, unfeeling expressions. The mansion ahead loomed like a predator waiting in the dark, its grand structure bathed in golden lights, casting long shadows across the gravel pathway.

The car skidded to a stop in front of the main entrance, the headlights illuminating the large double doors for a brief moment before both men flung their doors open and scrambled out. They didn’t bother locking the car. They didn’t even bother shutting the doors behind them. All that mattered was getting inside, getting to their boss, and delivering the news before it was too late.

They stormed up the steps, their boots echoing loudly against the polished marble floor as they shoved past the guards stationed at the door. The heavy doors swung open, revealing the grand entrance hall—high ceilings adorned with chandeliers, sleek leather couches, and a long staircase leading to the upper floors where their boss resided.

One of the guards, a tall man with a scar running down the side of his cheek, stepped forward, blocking their path with a raised hand. His deep voice was calm, but there was an undeniable authority in it.

“Where do you think you’re going?”

The two men barely slowed down as they rushed up to him, desperation clear in their faces.

“Where is the boss?” one of them demanded, his voice shaking as though he had seen a ghost.

The guard’s expression remained blank. “He’s busy. He won’t see you right now.”

That answer only made the two men more frantic.

“What do you mean he won’t see us? What’s he doing that’s so important?”

The guard exhaled through his nose, lowering his voice slightly as he gave them a knowing look. “You know how he gets when you interrupt his sessions with the girls.”

The two men stiffened. Their faces drained of whatever color remained in them.

“He’s with women?” one of them muttered under his breath, his expression twisting in disbelief.

Then, as if on cue, both of them cursed in unison.

“Fuck me! I told you this is important, and you’re telling me he’s busy with women?”

Without another second of hesitation, they shoved the guard aside and rushed forward. The guard didn’t chase them. He only sighed and shook his head, murmuring to himself, “I tried to warn you.”

The two men sprinted up the grand staircase, taking the steps two at a time. They knew exactly where they were going. They had worked under the boss long enough to know which room he used whenever he wanted to indulge himself. It was always the same one—the third room on the right, down the long hallway, where no one was allowed to disturb him.

Tonight, though, they had no choice.

They had to disturb him.

When they reached the door, they didn’t stop to knock. Their hands, driven by sheer panic, gripped the handles and shoved the doors open with force.

The sight that greeted them made their eyes sting with the overwhelming scent of perfume, mixed with the heat of bodies tangled together.

The room was drenched in golden candlelight, illuminating the large, luxurious bed at the center. The sheets were a mess, scattered with silk robes and dresses that had been discarded carelessly onto the floor. The scent of expensive wine lingered in the air, mixing with something far more intoxicating.

And there, at the heart of it all, was their boss.

He lounged on the massive bed, his bare, muscular chest rising and falling with deep, steady breaths, his arms draped lazily over the women wrapped around him. Five of them. Naked. Their smooth skin glistened under the warm glow of the light. They curled against him like kittens, their fingers tracing absentminded patterns across his chest, his shoulders, his abdomen.

The moment the doors burst open, the room froze.

The women gasped, startled by the intrusion. Some scrambled to cover themselves with the sheets, while others turned to glare at the men who had dared to disrupt their time with their master.

The boss, however, did not react immediately.

Slowly, his head lifted from where it rested against the pillows, his dark eyes narrowing as he looked toward the doorway. A slow, creeping tension filled the room.

Nobody—nobody—ever dared to barge in on him uninvited.

His sharp gaze landed on the two men standing in the doorway, panting heavily, their bodies still covered in bloodstains. For a moment, the flicker of deadly intent flashed across his face, his lips parting as if he was about to order their execution on the spot.

But then… he noticed something.

The blood.

It wasn’t just any blood.

It was fresh.

His gaze darkened further as he pushed himself up slightly, shifting just enough to examine them more closely. His mind worked quickly, piecing things together.

This morning, he had sent them on a simple task—eliminate the boy who had interfered with their plans. A straightforward mission. One they had no excuse to fail.

Yet here they were.

Alive.

But the boy?

Something in their eyes told him everything he needed to know.

Something had gone terribly wrong.

And he had a feeling he wasn’t going to like what they had to say.

He had expected Liam Carter to be nothing more than a corpse by now. There was no way—absolutely no way—a high school boy could have survived an ambush from five fully grown men. To make things even more certain, his men had been armed. The job should have been simple, effortless.

Yet, as he stared at the two bloodstained fools standing before him, something about their expressions unsettled him.

They looked… hollow.

Their eyes were bloodshot, their faces drained of all color. Their shoulders trembled, their fingers twitched at their sides, and it wasn’t from fatigue—it was something far worse. Fear. Pure, unfiltered fear.

And then it hit him.

There were supposed to be five of them.

But now, only two stood before him.

His gaze darkened.

Without another word, he turned his attention back to the five women sprawled across his bed. Their curious eyes flickered between him and the men who had barged in, sensing the shift in the atmosphere.

“Leave us,” he ordered, his tone cold, final.

The women hesitated for only a second before obeying, gathering their scattered clothes and slipping out of the room one by one, their bare feet padding softly against the floor. The moment the last one exited, he turned his full attention to his men.

A heavy silence filled the room.

“What is it?” he asked, his voice eerily calm.

The two men exchanged a nervous glance, but neither spoke.

His eyes narrowed, his patience thinning.

He leaned forward, his presence pressing down on them like a weight they could barely withstand.

“I’ll ask again,” he said, this time colder, sharper. “Is he dead?”

The two men stiffened, their throats bobbing as they swallowed hard. Then, hesitantly, they shook their heads.

The boss’s expression darkened instantly.

A low growl rumbled in his chest before it erupted into a furious snarl.

“I didn’t tell you to injure him,” he snapped, his voice like the crack of a whip. “I told you to kill him! What the fuck are you doing here if he’s still alive?”

One of the men tried to speak, but the words stuck in his throat. His lips moved, but no sound came out. His terror had silenced him completely.

The other, sensing his partner’s failure, took a shaky breath and forced himself to speak.

“Sir… we lost three men.”

The boss’s face twisted with fury.

“You lost three men?” His tone was sharp enough to cut through steel. “How the hell did that happen? Did another crew interfere?”

The two men quickly shook their heads.

The boss’s grip on the silk sheets tightened, his knuckles turning white.

“Then how did they die?” he demanded. “Who killed them?”

A suffocating silence followed.

The two men hesitated, as if saying the words out loud would make them even more real. But in the end, they had no choice.

“Liam,” one of them finally murmured, his voice barely above a whisper. “Liam killed them.”

The boss’s expression froze.

For a moment, he just stared at them, unmoving, unblinking.

Then, suddenly, a low chuckle rumbled in his throat.

That chuckle turned into a laugh.

That laugh grew louder, filling the room with its sheer absurdity.

“Hahahahaha!”

He laughed as if he had just heard the funniest joke in the world, his shoulders shaking, his head tilting back in amusement.

And then, just as suddenly as it started, the laughter stopped.

His face turned deadly serious, his cold gaze piercing through them like daggers.

“Do you take me for a fucking fool?” he asked, his voice now dangerously low.

Neither of them dared to answer.

“You expect me to believe that a nineteen-year-old boy wiped out three armed men?” His voice dripped with venom. “Are you out of your goddamn minds?”
