Liam sat at his desk, arms crossed, slouched over as he stared blankly at the front of the class. Mr. Rogers, their history teacher, was droning on about some ancient civilization, but Liam wasn’t paying the slightest bit of attention. His mind was elsewhere—specifically, on the absurdity of his system.

Beside him, Dickson was still in a state of shock. His eyes kept flickering toward Liam, his expression stuck between disbelief and amusement. The classroom gasped.

Meanwhile, Mr. Rogers remained completely still. His jaw tightened, his nostrils flared, and a dangerous silence filled the air. The man was furious.

He was in the mood to fuck with everyone.

A thick silence hung in the air after Liam’s bold statement. Every student in the room was staring at him, some in disbelief, others in awe. No one—no one—talked back to Mr. Rogers like that and lived to tell the tale.

Mr. Rogers’ face remained stone-cold, but his eyes darkened, his patience running dangerously thin. He inhaled sharply, exhaled through his nose, and then repeated himself, this time in a firmer, harsher tone.

“Get out of my class.”

Liam, still leaning back in his chair, tilted his head slightly as if considering his next move. Then, with an almost lazy shrug, he replied, “On what offense?”

A few students audibly gasped. Others simply sat in stunned silence.

Dickson, who had been sitting beside Liam, looked like he was on the verge of passing out. He grabbed Liam’s sleeve under the desk, whispering urgently, “Bro, please. Just stop. He’s gonna kill you.”

But Liam ignored him. His eyes remained locked on Mr. Rogers, his expression unreadable.

The teacher let out a slow, controlled breath before speaking again. “You have been distracted in my class,” he said, his voice steady but carrying an unmistakable edge of irritation. “I have been teaching for an hour, and I am certain you haven’t listened to a single thing I’ve said.”

Liam blinked once. Then twice.

Then he let out a small, amused huff. “An hour?” he mused, tilting his head. “Damn. Feels like three.”

A wave of gasps swept through the class like a wildfire. Someone choked on their spit. Another student visibly shuddered.

Dickson’s soul nearly left his body.

He didn’t just say that.

Mr. Rogers’ eyebrow twitched. His grip on the textbook in his hand visibly tightened. If Liam looked closely enough, he could probably see the man’s knuckles turning white.

“Carter,” Mr. Rogers said, his voice dangerously low, “stand up and leave.”

Liam, still playing his little game, let out a thoughtful hum. “I don’t know…” He tapped his chin. “I feel like you’re just singling me out. I mean, surely I can’t be the only one distracted.”

A beat of silence.

Then, as if to prove his point, Liam turned in his chair and pointed at a random student sitting a few seats behind him.

“Hey, Ethan,” Liam called out. The poor guy flinched, looking like he had just been thrown into the middle of a battlefield.

Liam smirked. “What was the last thing Mr. Rogers said before he called me out?”

Ethan paled. His mouth opened and closed, but no words came out. Beads of sweat formed on his forehead as he desperately searched his mind for an answer.

Mr. Rogers narrowed his eyes. “Don’t you dare drag other students into this.”

But Liam ignored him. He turned back to Ethan expectantly. “Well?”

Ethan swallowed hard. “Uh… something about… um… the Roman Empire?”

A ripple of laughter spread through the room. Even students who had been too nervous to react before now had to stifle their giggles.

Liam chuckled, leaning back in his chair. “See? Not just me.”

Mr. Rogers slammed his textbook onto his desk, the sound echoing through the classroom like a gunshot.

“OUT!” he barked, his patience finally snapping.

This time, Liam didn’t argue. He sighed dramatically, stretching his arms as he slowly got up from his seat. “Alright, alright. No need to get violent, sir.”

Dickson, who had been sitting frozen in horror, quickly scrambled to his feet as well. Unlike Liam, he had zero intention of testing the limits of Mr. Rogers’ wrath.

As the two of them made their way to the door, Liam could hear the whispers and muffled giggles from his classmates behind him. Some were in shock at what had just happened, others were impressed by his audacity.
