Chapter 129: Chapter 129 Last Day At School

It had been a week since the gang war. Since the bloodshed, the chaos, and the fire. A lot had changed in just seven days.

The streets had gone quiet—eerily quiet. Both the Black Lotus and the Crimson Hand had gone completely underground, licking their wounds or preparing their next move. No one knew for sure. All Liam knew was that he hadn’t gotten a single call from Lilith since that day. Not that he cared.

Right now, all he cared about was keeping his head low—and acing his goddamn finals.

For the past week, Liam had played the perfect role of a regular student. Calm. Focused. Harmless. He’d shown up to every exam, answered every question, and walked out without saying much. Not a single punch thrown. Not a single threat made.

But even as he wrote his answers, his mind never truly left something important.

He had been tracking them. Sam. Kyle. Daryl. Jack.

He watched every hallway they walked, every corridor they passed through, every class they entered. Liam had memorized their routines like clockwork. He didn’t act—yet. He just watched. Observed. Like a predator quietly stalking its prey.

Because he wanted to see how they were spending their last days on earth.

Today was special though.

Today marked his last exam.

And even more important—it was his last day at school.

Funny enough, he wasn’t dropping out alone.

Dickson was right beside him, leaning against the hallway wall, looking like he couldn’t give two fucks about the exam. He had one earbud in and his hoodie pulled halfway over his messy hair.

Liam looked at him. “You sure about this? You’re really done with school?”

Dickson snorted. “Hell yeah, bro. Fuck this place. I’ve been done since, like, forever.”

Liam smirked. “Why now though? Thought you were gonna try and push through for your folks.”

Dickson pulled his hood off and scratched his head. “Pfft. My old man went to college, busted his ass, you know? Now he’s driving a fucking cab. My mom? She got a degree too. Teaches fucking nursery rhymes to spoiled little shits who don’t know how to wipe their own ass.”

He looked over at Liam, dead serious.

“School’s a goddamn scam, man. It’s built for people who already got money. For the rest of us? We study our asses off just to end up wiping tables or answering phones. Fuck that.”

Liam nodded slowly. He couldn’t even argue with that. “So what now? You just gonna go full degenerate?”

Dickson grinned. “Nah, man. I’m gonna trade full time.”

Liam raised a brow. “Trading?”

“Yeah bro,” Dickson said, his voice filled with a crazy kind of confidence. “Crypto, forex, whatever the fuck. I’ve been practicing for a while now. I’ve made a few hundred already. I’m telling you, man—I’m gonna be a fucking millionaire.”

“Bold words,” Liam chuckled. “You think school can’t make you a millionaire?”

“School can’t make me shit, bro,” Dickson fired back. “It just trains you to be someone’s bitch. You think I’m spending my life behind some fucking desk wearing a tie for peanuts? Fuck that.”

Liam gave him a solid nod, impressed. “You’ve got balls, I’ll give you that.”

“Damn right I do,” Dickson grinned. “What about you though? What the hell are you gonna do now that you’re done?”

“I’ll figure it out,” Liam said, turning toward the exam hall. “But yo—come over to my house sometime. We’ll talk.”

Dickson looked at him sideways, curiosity in his eyes. “You think you could actually help me out?”

Liam didn’t answer. He didn’t need to.

Dickson smirked and gave a lazy salute. “Alright then, see you later, man.”

He turned and headed toward the hall.

Liam followed not long after, entering the room like a ghost. As usual, he took his seat quietly, cracked his knuckles, and waited for the exam papers to land on his desk.

He didn’t waste time.

Like all the others, he breezed through the questions like they were child’s play. Done in under ten minutes.

And of course, there was one more thing to do—Ann’s exam.

He reached for her paper, subtly working on it while she pretended to struggle in her seat. Once it was done, he passed it to her desk with smooth precision.

Ann turned her head and blew him a kiss. “You’re the best.”

Liam rolled his eyes but smirked all the same. He stood up, dropped both papers on the invigilator’s desk, and walked out without looking back.

His steps took him straight to his locker room. It was time to pack the last of his things. Whatever books, clothes, or bullshit he had left in there—he was done with it all.

He twisted the lock open and began pulling stuff out, stuffing it into his backpack. He didn’t even care what made it in. Half the shit in there he’d never look at again.

But just as he reached for the last notebook—SLAM!

The door of his locker smacked shut violently, the sound echoing through the room and drawing everyone’s attention.

Liam didn’t flinch.

He turned his head slightly, eyes narrowing.

Four figures stood around him, like vultures closing in on a fresh carcass.

Kyle. Sam. Daryl. Jack.

They looked serious. Dangerous.

And Liam… just smiled.

The first voice to break the tense silence came from Kyle.

He stepped forward, lips curled in a twisted smirk, eyes burning with arrogant pride. “Listen, Liam,” he said, the name laced with venom, “we don’t know what kind of fucking charm or magic spell you’ve been using to fix your face or body or whatever the hell this glow-up is—but we don’t care.”

Liam tilted his head slightly, brows raised, still smiling. Calm. Unbothered.

Kyle leaned in closer. “Stay the fuck away from Ann. That girl isn’t for someone like you. Stick around her, and I promise… you won’t like what we do next.”

So, it was about Ann.

Liam chuckled inwardly. Of course it was. That woman could ignite wars with her smile.

Before he could even respond, a rough hand shoved into his chest.

Thud.

Liam’s back slammed against the locker door with a loud metallic bang that echoed across the hallway. Every student nearby froze, heads turning, eyes wide with shock.

Even the teachers who normally patrolled the hallways were conveniently nowhere to be found.

The tension was electric.

A fight?

Now?

Against Liam?

There was fear in the air—but not for Liam.

It was the other way around.

The girls in the hall already had concerned expressions etched onto their faces. Several of them instinctively took a step forward, only to pull back just as quickly. They liked Liam—hell, nearly every girl had a crush on him—but nobody wanted to get involved with the four boys now squaring up to him.

They had a reputation. A bad one.

And yet, Liam just stayed leaning against the locker, smiling like the whole thing amused him.

Sam stepped back, clearly expecting Liam to push back.

He didn’t.

Instead, Jack stepped in now, and it was what came out of his mouth that made the air in the room turn ice cold.

“Listen, boy,” he spat, eyes filled with disdain, “I don’t know how the fuck you managed to escape death the first time—maybe you got lucky, maybe someone saved your pretty little ass—but if you don’t leave Ann alone for us… I promise you, you won’t escape it this time.”

That was it.

They didn’t notice the shift in Liam’s eyes—how the casual blue in his irises turned sharp, deadly, almost predatory. The smirk was still there, but it had changed. It wasn’t amused anymore.

It was dangerous.

But before he could say a word, the hallway door flung open—and someone stepped between him and the four boys.

Elena.

Beautiful, with long black hair tied into a ponytail that danced behind her as she moved, and her eyes—fierce despite the fear Liam could see hiding just beneath the surface.

She stood in front of Liam, blocking him with her body. “Back the fuck off,” she snapped. “What, you four don’t have lives? Is harassing people all you do now?”

Jack narrowed his eyes at her. “Move, Elena. This has nothing to do with you.”

“It does now,” she growled, voice shaking slightly but still firm. “You guys think you’re untouchable, huh? Picking fights because someone else is doing better than you? That’s pathetic.”

The hallway was silent again. Jack stared at her for a long second, his jaw clenched, clearly considering whether it was worth the trouble.

Then, finally, he scoffed and turned away. “Let’s go,” he muttered to the others.

Kyle glared at Liam one last time before following Jack. Sam gave Elena a look of pure annoyance, and Daryl didn’t even try to hide his disgust. But none of them said anything more.

They left.

The moment they disappeared around the corner, Elena finally let out a breath she’d been holding in, her shoulders dropping just a little. Her hands were slightly clenched, and she still looked tense, but her back remained straight.

Liam watched her closely.

He could see the fear in her—her knees had almost buckled when Jack stepped forward. But still, she stood there. She didn’t run. Didn’t flinch.

That counted for something.

Elena slowly turned to face him, forcing a smile onto her lips like nothing had happened. “Guess I showed up at the right time, huh?” she said, voice light, trying to keep it casual.

He didn’t respond right away. His gaze stayed on her as she leaned down, picking up one of his books that had fallen during the scuffle.

She held it out to him, still smiling.

He took it silently.

But his eyes didn’t leave her face.

Elena blushed. Hard. Her cheeks turned pink almost instantly. “Don’t look at me like that,” she mumbled, glancing down.

Still, Liam didn’t speak.

She bit her lower lip, then spun around, her ponytail flipping over her shoulder. “See you around, Liam.”

And with that, she walked away—fast, but with a strange kind of pride in her step. Like she was running, but didn’t want anyone to know.

Liam remained standing there, holding the book.

He hadn’t expected her. Not her of all people.

Even after he rejected her… she still came through.

The faintest trace of a smile tugged at the corner of his lips as he turned back to his locker.

Yeah… maybe the school still had a few surprises left.

As he looked at the four boys going away he murmured silently, “I gave you few more days to survive but in the end you choosed to end your life in the nastiest way possible.”
