Lilith stopped pacing mid-step, turned around sharply, and stared at him.

“Wait… you seriously want me to leave town?” she asked, pointing a finger at him. “You want me to run while you fight the Crimson Hand alone?”

Liam didn’t even flinch. He leaned back against the counter and nodded. “Yeah. That’s exactly what I want.”

Her expression twisted in disbelief, but before she could speak again, he added, “Because I’m afraid you hate them more than you love your own damn life. And that? That could get you killed.”

Lilith narrowed her eyes. She stepped closer, slow and deliberate. When she got close enough, she smacked the back of his head—not too hard, but firm enough to get her point across.

“I’m not stupid, Liam,” she said. “I’m not gonna lose my head over some rival gang of lunatics. I know what I’m doing.”

Liam waved her off with one hand. “Yeah, right.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?” she snapped.

“I’d be stupid to believe that,” he replied, dead serious. “I know you, Lilith. You’ll charge in the second you see one of them. You act calm now, but deep down, you want blood.”

She didn’t argue that. She didn’t need to. Because both of them knew it was true.

Then, out of nowhere, Lilith slipped her hands around his neck, pulling herself close—too close. Her lips brushed against his skin as she kissed his neck softly, just once, then whispered against it.

“Can we do it now?”

Liam blinked. “Do what?”

She didn’t answer.

Instead, she kissed the side of his neck again, slower this time. Her hand slid under his shirt, her fingers grazing along his stomach and then up toward his chest.

“Lilith…” he muttered, almost wincing as her breath tickled his skin.

“How the hell are you in the mood for this?” he asked, exasperated. He didn’t understand the switch from their topic to this.

Lilith didn’t stop. She kept teasing him, soft kisses against his neck, each one warmer than the last. Her lips moved to his ear, kissing the lobe as her tongue flicked just once.

Liam twitched at the sensation.

Then he lost balance.

His stool tilted back suddenly, and he hit the floor with a low grunt. “Shit…”

But before he could even sit up, Lilith was on him.

She straddled his waist, pinning both of his wrists to the ground like it was nothing. Her hair fell in golden waves around her face as she looked down at him with a playful, wild glint in her eyes.

Liam stared up. “Don’t tell me…”

Lilith didn’t wait.

She leaned in and pressed her lips to his—no hesitation, no warning. The kiss wasn’t gentle. It was hungry, urgent, full of heat. Her mouth moved against his with force, claiming him. Her body pressed into his as she deepened the kiss, her teeth tugging his lower lip before releasing it.

Her breath was hot, her pace fast.

As she kissed him, her knees shifted, locking his arms tighter beneath her thighs. Her hands moved fast, fingers unbuttoning his shirt one button at a time with barely controlled impatience. Her lips broke from his just long enough to mutter, “Don’t move.”

Liam didn’t argue.

He wasn’t sure he could even if he wanted to.

By the time she had his shirt open, her fingers slid across his chest, nails dragging lightly over his skin.

His breath caught.

He gripped her waist, fingers tightening around her sides. Her robe shifted slightly, revealing the soft curve of her thighs as she rolled her hips once against him, slow, teasing.

Their mouths met again, and this time Liam kissed her back fully. His hand moved up her back, pulling her closer as he took control for just a second—just long enough to flip her, but she resisted, twisting her hips and keeping her position locked.

Lilith smirked against his lips. “Not tonight,” she whispered.

She leaned down again, lips back on his neck, biting him this time—sharp but quick. Her breath brushed against the bite mark as she whispered, “You should’ve known better.”

Liam exhaled sharply, one hand still on her waist, the other slipping up her back beneath the silk fabric of her robe.

She hissed softly when his fingers touched her bare skin.

Their movements slowed just slightly, becoming more precise. The tension between them burned hotter, but neither of them rushed. Every touch now was on purpose. Lilith rolled her hips again, slower, grinding down against him while maintaining eye contact.

Liam didn’t say a word. He didn’t need to. His hands stayed firm on her waist, but he wasn’t fighting her control. She felt his fingers tighten with each movement of her body, and it only pushed her further.

Lilith leaned down, her golden hair brushing against his face as her mouth hovered over his. She didn’t kiss him yet. She let her breath mix with his, lips just inches apart. His body was tensed under hers, and she felt it all—every muscle, every restrained breath.

“You’re burning,” she whispered against his mouth. “And I haven’t even started.”

Liam’s chest rose with a deep breath, but he didn’t answer. His eyes locked with hers, sharp and hungry, but he made no move to flip her. He knew better. This wasn’t his moment. It was hers.

She kissed him again—deeper this time. Her hands moved to his chest, sliding down slowly, palms dragging across the hard lines of muscle beneath his skin. Her nails grazed lightly, making him shiver against the cold air hitting where her robe brushed open.

His hands stayed at her waist, but she felt his restraint—the tension in his grip, the way he held back the urge to take control.

Lilith wasn’t having it.

She pulled back just slightly and reached behind her, grabbing both his wrists again and pinning them above his head. Her thighs tightened around his waist, locking him in completely beneath her.

“Hands off,” she murmured, licking her lower lip. “You don’t get to touch unless I say so.”

Liam stared at her, lips parted slightly, chest rising and falling harder now. His eyes burned with defiance—but he didn’t resist.

He just gave a short exhale. “You’re insane.”

“Yeah,” she smiled, “but you like it.”

Her lips met his neck again, tracing the path she’d already kissed earlier—but now with her tongue, slow and deliberate. Her teeth scraped against his skin, not enough to hurt, just enough to make him twitch.

Her hips rolled again, deliberately slow, deliberately firm.

Liam groaned softly, jaw tightening. “Lilith—”

She shut him up with another kiss. Her mouth crashed down on his with more urgency this time, her body pressing harder into him. Her robe shifted again, falling off one shoulder completely. He felt the heat of her skin against his chest now, the way her body molded perfectly over his.

She was in full control.

Her lips left his only to trail down his jawline, slow and calculated, and then back up to his ear.

“I’ve wanted this,” she breathed. “You. Under me. Needing me. Not calling the shots for once.”

Her voice was low, rich with tension and hunger.

“You don’t get to run tonight.”

Liam opened his mouth to respond, but her hips moved again, this time rougher—purposefully interrupting him. His body jerked slightly beneath hers.

She smirked.

She loved how his control cracked in pieces the longer she held dominance. Loved how he’d twitch, tense, and say nothing. She could feel the heat between them growing with every second, rising fast and sharp like fire about to snap.

Her hands ran down his chest again, slower this time. She traced the lines of his torso, then leaned forward and kissed the center of it, just above his navel, before moving back up to straddle him fully again.

She stared down at him.

His hair was messy, his lips slightly parted, his breathing heavier than before—but he still hadn’t tried to take control once. That was enough for her.

“You’re learning,” she whispered with a wicked smile.
