Chapter 296: The Smell of Adultery

The black Land Rover stopped in front of an alley.

This was one of the few slums in the suburbs of River City. Most residents here were workers at the bottom of the social ladder.

Lori’s apartment was already among the best in this area.

The shops and grocery stores nearby were still opened while a group of workers just got off work. The road was crowded.

The expensive Land Rover was very eye-catching in this place.

Lori nervously sat in the car as it pulled over.

She was slightly stunned and saw Bruce walking towards a small stall.

Lori was still hot and fatigue from the wine. She leaned on the door and almost fell as her feet landed on the ground.

She watched as the man walked past the stalls and bought many snacks.

The expensive suit and the remarkable temperament extinguished him from the crowd.

No matter where he stood, Lori was able to spot him at a glance.

Young girls passing by all looked at Bruce.

Who could ignore him, dressed in designer clothes, in this alley?

He was like the sun in the sky that everything in the galaxy, from planets to grains, should revolve around him.

Bruce waited for the vendor to bring up the snacks. He frowned as if dislike the smell. But he stood there patiently all the same.

Lori stood not far away and watched as Bruce carried large and small bags of snacks and walked back.

Most people would be in a sorry state when carrying so many things, but he looked as elegant and composed as usual.

He shined in her eyes. He walked gracefully on this old and narrow street and paid no attention to the men and women passing by.

It was not until Bruce stood in front of her that Lori woke up from her fantasy.

She looked at Bruce with bright eyes and smiled, “I didn’t expect that you would like these snacks.”

She grew up in an orphanage and was good at reading people’s thoughts.

When Bruce stood in front of those stalls, he didn’t even look at the snacks.
