Chapter 81: She Is a Kind Predecessor

When Hilla saw Bruce, she subconsciously wanted to turn around and run away.

But quickly she realized it made no sense for her to run away since Bruce had been here.

Besides, she could run but could not hide. Sooner or later, she and Bruce would meet.

She reluctantly took steps forward. When she was a certain distance away from Bruce, she stopped and said in a low voice, “Are you here to see me?”

“Hilla and I just baked some Christmas cookies. If you don’t mind, eat some first.”

They planned to eat the cookies tomorrow morning. They didn’t expect Bruce to suddenly come.

Halle did not embarrass him. She went to the kitchen and left Hilla and Bruce alone.

Hilla felt Bruce had made here his home. She was surprised. She stared at him and said, “How can you ask my sister to cook for you? Don’t you feel embarrassed?”

“Why do I feel embarrassed? She is my sister-in-law.”

“Nonsense, she is only my sister.”

Hilla argued. Bruce frowned and said with a gloomy look, “Are you still angry?”

Obviously, she was in great anger. How could Bruce be so stupid that he didn’t find it? Shouldn’t she be angry?

“My legs have recovered long ago. I didn’t tell you because I wanted to be more convenient in the company. Rudi won’t be on against me only if I haven’t recovered.”

Hilla was angry and looked like she wanted to fight with someone. Bruce looked calm. He took the cookies and bowls from Hilla.

Halle had not expected they would gather around a table.

The noble person in charge of the Anderson family now looked like an ordinary person.

Bruce placed the knife, fork, and bowls in front of Hilla. He took out the vinegar and said to her, “Do you want this?”

Did she want to be more jealous?

Halle smiled when seeing this. She ate the cookies and ignored them.

“Mr. Anderson, don’t tell me you want to stay here. You are a president. You must have property somewhere else. Don’t pretend that you are homeless.”

Hilla was smart. Bruce felt that the idea given by Horton was silly, but he still used it.

He raised his eyebrows and looked out the window. Halle, who was beside him, said, “This place is very far from the River City. It snowed recently. It should not be easy for you to come here.”

Bruce quickly looked at Halle with admiration. He thought Halle was indeed a gentle and considerate woman!

He nodded and said, “Yes. It’s already dark. I don’t know if there will be an accident if I leave now.”
