Chapter 373: Give You a Chance To Reorganize Your Words
…
In the dining room.
Margaret took a shower and changed into clean clothes before she went downstairs.
Julian was speaking on the phone in front of the window. Margaret glanced at him and sat down at the table in a bad mood. She said coldly, “Which sweat heart are you talking with?”
Julian talked in such a gentle voice. Did he think that she was a fool? “I know, Grandma. I will take her there.”
Julian glanced at the frozen Margaret. His lips curled up. He continued, “Margaret is right next to me. Do you want to talk to her?”
“No!” Margaret cried in her mind.
She quickly waved her hand, silently refusing Brittany’s invitation.
She was so anxious as long as she thought of Brittany’s gloomy face.
She would be dull if she had too many conversations with such a person.
“Alright, I’ll tell her.”
Seeing Julian hang up the phone, Margaret finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Then they sat down at the dining table. The food was ready, basically all of which Margaret preferred to eat.
Margaret was having the salad when Julian gestured for her to have the steak. She frowned, “I don’t like steak.”
“I have cut it,” said him.
Margaret picked up a cube. After the first mouthful, she narrowed her eyes in satisfaction.
“What did your grandmother say to you just now?”
When she met Julian’s gaze, she quickly corrected her words, “What did Brittany say to you just now?”
The man’s expression softened. He picked up his knife and fork and said, “Nothing. She invited you to Rockville Villa. We need to visit dad.”
“Isn’t Mr. Jorgansen… I mean, isn’t my father-in-law sick? I heard that he refused any visits.”
Margaret quietly looked at Julian while eating.
“Why does he glare at me like that?” thought she timidly.
“Shouldn’t we visit him since we got married?”
Julian remained silent while Margaret pursed her lips.
She had visited him before the wedding. But after the wedding, she was still asked to go. However, when she thought of Julian’s father, Margaret raised her eyebrows and thought, “Fine. I will go there. Anyway, it won’t take long.”
“Should we visit Marry?” Margaret mentioned her mother-in-law.
There were so many dramas in the Jorgansen family. At the thought of Julian’s father and the man standing next to Marry, she was now very curious about the grudges of the previous generation.
The husband was seriously ill and lived on the hill. The wife was said to devote herself to God and lived an austere life. It was fine that they lived in separate places. However, they did not look like a normal couple.
Julian grew up in this kind of family. Margaret wondered his view of marriage could be distorted.
“Go ahead, if you want.”
Julian did not say another word and focused on his dinner. Margaret rolled her eyes.
If Julian didn’t want to go, how could she try to catch her mother-in-law with someone else? Only if she was insane, would she provoke Marry.
After dinner, Margaret sent a video call to Orlenna.
“Mom, I’ve seen his family. It’s too boring to stay here. I want to go home.”
“You just got married. How can you always want to run away? Why doesn’t Julian just lock you up?” said Orlenna, in a voice positively sagging with sarcasm.
Orlenna was busy bathing her two grandsons.
The two little guys were naughty. With the help of two servants, Orlenna was still flustered.
Just a few seconds taking eyes off them, she was sprayed with water. “You two little rats, you pissed me off.”
At the other end of the video, was a chaotic situation. Margaret could only hear the laughter of children.
Margaret called Orlenna a few times, but she was ignored. She could only hang up the video call angrily.
“That’s too much. After having the grandchildren, she values me less important.”
Lying on the bed, Margaret rolled over and over in dissatisfaction, but she still didn’t get over it.
When Julian came out of the bathroom, he saw the bed was a mess.
He frowned and stepped forward, saying in disdain, “Rolling around in your nest? Are you a pig?”
“Julian, I’m too bored. I want to go out and play.”
Margaret rolled out of bed and sat up. Her gaze was fixed on his waist.
With great difficulty, she did not shift her gaze away.
The man wiped his wet hair and said casually, “There are too many things in the recently. I’ll take you out in a few days.”
“I can’t wait a few days. Besides, who wants to hang out with you?”
The man curled the corners of his lips. He had just taken a shower. Through the haze of steam, he looked like a siren.
“No with me? Fine, you can stay at home.”
“What does he mean? I can’t go out alone?” Margaret thought with a pout.
Seeing Julian was about to get on the bed, she stretched out her leg to block him and said unhappily, “I married you, not sold to you. Do you really want to raise me like a pig and restrict my freedom? Dude, you broke the law, do you know?”
Julian grabbed her ankle and pulled her into his arms. He turned around and lay down on the bed, casually pressing Margaret against his chest.
“Watch your words. Why are you shouting at me?”
“What do you mean? You insulted me.” Margaret began to struggle.
But she did not get rid of the man’s arms.
She was so angry that her face turned red. But she simply couldn’t do anything with him.
“Save it. I am the wronged one. And you are a wolf,” she grumbled.
The man frowned slightly and looked down at Margaret in his arms. His eyes were deep and quiet, like a bottomless black lake.
His voice sounded above her head and his breath spread across her face.
The man looked serious as if he wanted to tell her something very important.
Margaret stopped struggling and also became serious.
“Why are you looking at me like that?”
Margaret got nervous under his gaze. She felt awkward.
She tried to break free from his embrace, but he hugged her even tighter.
Julian pursed his lips and said in a hoarse voice, “Are you ready?”
“What?” Margaret asked.
Julian chuckled, “I’m going to enjoy my feast.”
Margaret, “…”
Rockville Villa was located outside Far City, a few hours’ drive away from it.
Margaret and Julian left early in the morning. A little while later, Margaret fell asleep on Julian’s knee.
She was exhausted last night and now really needed to replenish her strength.
The car drove out of the city. Along the way, the road was shaded by tall trees.
Julian’s father came here many years ago to recuperate. Margaret thought that even if he was sick, it was probably because he was cheated.
Anyway, she was not interested in the affairs of his family at all.
She was the sacrifice of the two wealthy families. She didn’t care anything else as long as the interests of the Andersons were protected.
She didn’t care about Julian’s family.
The car entered Rockville Villa and soon stopped.
The entire mountain was the property of the Jorgansens. But after the Jorgansens bought it, other than building a villa here for Julian’s father to recuperate, it seemed to have no other use. It wasn’t developed for profit.
Margaret got out of the car. She was still in a daze. Looking at the blue sky above her, she couldn’t help but stretch. She looked up and saw a nurse pushing a person on the wheelchair slowly coming over.
The old man in the wheelchair was numb and skinny. He was as still as a statue and his body was half tilted.
Margaret tugged at the corner of Julian’s clothes and whispered, “Your father is here.”
After receiving Julian’s warning, she forced a smile and said reluctantly, “My father-in-law. I know we are a family now.”
…
This was the second time Margaret met Julian’s father.
Every time he sat in the wheelchair, his eyes were always so stiff, his fingers trembling. He could only look in one direction.
No matter what they said, he had no response.
Margaret stood quietly at the door, watching Julian wipe his father’s hands in the room.
“How about getting some rest, Mrs. Jorgansen? The lunch will be ready soon.”
There were doctors and nurses here who specialized in nursing Julian’s father.
In the huge manor, only these servants went back and forth. Everything looked deserted.
It was rare for the Jorgansens to come here. They felt embarrassed when faced with a person who did not react.
Margaret sat down on the sofa downstairs. She couldn’t help but turn back to look upstairs. Then she turned to the servant beside her and ask, “When did your master live here?”
Margaret was lying on the back of the sofa, her gaze wandering around.
She was not concerned about the Jorgansens. She was just curious.
Although she did not mean to ask about Julian’s privacy, she was now married into the Jorgansens. If she knew nothing about them, it was easy for her to trust the wrong person.
She thought of Julian’s scheming Uncle Andy.
Then she thought of Jessie who treated her as a love rival.
As for her faithful mother-in-law, she lived with her lover on a mountain.
And her father-in-law who was right now upstairs was paralyzed and demented.
The Jorgansen family was full of mysteries. How could a normal girl like her not be interested in these?
A hint of nervousness flashed across the servant’s face as she whispered, “Mrs. Jorgansen, don’t you know that?”
Margaret rolled her eyes. “If I knew, why would I ask you?”
The servant said in embarrassment, “Mrs. Jorgansen, if you don’t know about it, it is even more impossible for us to hear about that.”
This young man’s answer was perfect.
Margaret could only ask, “Do you know how long the master has been here?”
The person beside her shook his head, “When I came, the old master was here.”
Margaret frowned. “How long have you been here?”
“One year. Except for the personal health care workers and the housekeeper, the servants change once a year. And I have to leave next month.”
As he spoke, he sighed in disappointment.
He was afraid that it would be difficult for him to find such a well-paid job in the future.
Margaret didn’t expect the Jorgansens to be so mysterious.
She pursed her lips and looked at Julian who came down from the stairs. Before she could say anything, he walked to her side and said, “Let’s go!”
Margaret was a bit surprised.
“Now? We have just come here.”
She had thought that Julian had deep feelings for his father and that he would stay here for a few days.
She didn’t expect that he would leave without even having lunch.
Julian looked down at her. Margaret stood up from the sofa and whispered, “OK, let’s go. The food here doesn’t look delicious.”
Last time, she also came in a hurry. She thought that Julian was too busy because he had too many things to do in the company.
Now, it seemed that he did not come here often, and he was not very interested in his own father.
On their way home, Margaret was leaning against the car window, looking at the scenery that kept flashing outside.
She couldn’t help but whisper, “You came so early and left so soon. I really don’t know why you are here.”
“Are you hungry?” Julian asked from behind.
Margaret turned her head and said with dissatisfaction, “Don’t you think I should be hungry now?”
From the early morning till now, she had been sitting in the car for hours. They left the villa almost as soon as they arrive. She left without even taking a sip of coffee. It would be strange if she was not hungry.
“Wait a while. There are some fantastic restaurants in the nearby county.”
Julian seemed to be calm.
Margaret came up to him and stared at the man’s stiff expression. She couldn’t help
but ask, “Julian, are you unhappy?”
This man was always with a dull expression.
But today, Margaret felt that the vibe was different.
Even when he went to see Marry, he remained calm. Why was he different here?
He seemed to be very angry, but he did not show it. His cold and indifferent appearance made it hard to tell what he was thinking.
Margaret was very curious. In the end, how did his father let him down? Why did he look unhappy?
He was reluctant to visit his own father.
“You know I’m unhappy?”
Julian’s gaze moved down and landed on Margaret’s face. His deep gaze was full of inquiry and incomprehension.
He looked at her too seriously, which made Margaret feel uncomfortable. “It is obvious. What are you unhappy about?” Margaret was curious about their secrets.
Julian’s expression was still cold, but the cold and unapproachable aura on his body just now dispersed.
He stared at the woman next to him and suddenly smiled, “You want to know the reason?”
Margaret nodded eagerly.
Her curiosity was almost out of control.
The man curled the corners of his lips and his dark eyes seemed to be able to see through her mind. “The reason is very simple. When I think I’m going to treat you to have a meal later, I know you can eat up my family property. That’s why I’m very unhappy,” he teased.
Margaret met the smile in his eyes.
The man looked arrogant and evil. Margaret ground her teeth in hatred.
The smile on Margaret’s face stiffened and then disappeared.
She rolled her eyes and returned to her original position, sitting down in a dignified manner.
She muttered, “Miser, wait and see. The meal bill will let you go bankrupt.”
She regretted it now. She shouldn’t have taken Julian’s credit card but not used it.
She should max out it ruthlessly.
“You can’t even feed your wife. Can you afford the bread and butter? If you can’t
afford it, everyone who marries you will run away sooner or later.” Margaret’s muttering entered the man’s ears. His faint smile instantly got cold.
Julian lowered his head, his gaze falling on her little face that was absent-minded. He slowly opened his mouth and said, “What are you talking about?”
The man’s voice was not loud, every word rippling in the car.
The chill that had just dispersed also surged up in an instant.
Margaret, who was sitting next to her, instantly felt that something was wrong. She raised her head to meet the man’s sharp gaze and was stunned.
She carefully grabbed the bag in her arms. Leaning against the window, she whispered, “What, what did I say?”
The man forced a smile, “I’ll give you a chance to reorganize your words.”
“A rich CEO like you is really wronged to have only one woman. It’s nothing to you to support ten or eight, no, three thousand beauties. In the eyes of women, you are a perfect man. How can a woman be willing to run away? It’s more like she can’t help but throw herself at you,” she fluttered.
Margaret thought to herself, “As expected, I can’t speak against my heart. It’s disgusting to say that. I feel sick.”
