Chapter 302: Miss the Wedding and Lose Her

At the Anderson’s, several people were sitting in the living room. When Hilla and Margaret entered the room, they turned their eyes on them at once.

Margaret pulled Hilla’s sleeve nervously and whispered in her ear, “What happened? Why does Mr. Hutt come here?”

If there was only Horton, she would have rushed up to beat up that jerk.

“Is Halle able to deal with this alone?”

“Mr. Hutt, this is Halle, my daughter-in-law, and Simone Moran,”

Orlenna spoke to Claus.

Claus looked over Halle’s shoulder and at Simone.

How could he not know Simone, the second son of the Moran?

“I didn’t expect the Morans and the Andersons are related.”

Claus’s voice was sarcastic.

Orlenna replied smiley, “Not now. But maybe future.”

Orlenna’s voice was calm but powerful.

Horton’s face turned pale. He looked at Halle anxiously, but Halle looked away.

“I am sorry for making the unannounced visit today,” Simone said gently.

When he said, his eyes rest on Halle with affection.

Hilla ran her eyes from Halle, Simone, and Horton to Claus.

A smile touched her mouth suddenly. Hilla looked at Orlenna and asked, “Mom, I go to the kitchen to take a look at the food. We have so many guests at home. Need to sure the food is enough.”

“Yes, Mr. Hutt is a distinguished guest. You ask them to prepare a splendid dinner.” Hilla wanted to indicate the visit of Mr. Hutt was abrupt and blunt.

Before Claus responded, Orlenna added, “I have heard from Horton that he was going to get married. I have been occupied these two days and still don’t know which lady it is.”

“Bruce is back!”

Then Bruce got out of the car and stroke into the villa.

Hilla heard Margaret’s exclamation and hurried out of the kitchen.

She raced to the door and greeted Bruce at the entrance.

“What’s going on? Why is Horton here?” Hilla whispered as she took the jacket that Bruce pulled off.

Moreover, Claus was with him.

Although it was the first time Hilla met Claus, she already had a bad impression of him because of Halle’s description.

“We are a family. It’s natural to come over to bond.”

Hilla rolled her eyes.

She didn’t buy his words at all.

She didn’t say many words because Halle looked calm and had no excessive reaction.

“Then why is Simone here? What do you want to do?” Simone’s appearance tonight must have to do with Bruce.

Bruce had known that Horton would come and let Halle bring Horton home. Ex-boyfriend and blind date. What if they had fights?

Worried, Hilla caught up with Bruce and spoke to him, “I’ll be with you.”

Bruce leaned close to Hilla’s ear and whispered, “Don’t worry. He can’t win me when he is well. Not to mention he couldn’t stand up now.”

She was not worried that Bruce would get hurt, but that Horton would get beaten up.

When Hilla raised her head, she saw Bruce and Horton had already walked out. Hilla turned her head and looked at Halle with concern.

Margaret sneaked up to Hilla and said, “Won’t Bruce beat Horton to death?”

Hilla shook her head. “They won’t.”

Even though they grew up together, she would not forgive him for leaving Halle in the hospital.

Sisterhood was more important for her.

“Your phone is ringing.”

Hilla reminded.

Margaret glanced at the number on the screen and an unnatural expression showed on her face. “I go upstairs to take a call,” she said and ran away.

Hilla recognized the number immediately as she saw it. It was Julian.

She gave a weak chuckle and turn back to the living room.

In the living room, Halle sat on the sofa restlessly.

Hilla stepped forward and said, “Halle, let’s go to the kitchen together.”

Halle nodded absent-mindedly and followed Hilla into the kitchen.

“What exactly happened today?”

“Bruce asked you to see Simone, right?”

Before Halle responded, Hilla already knew the answer. She knew both Bruce and Halle. Halle would not let the situation go so far.

It must be Bruce who arranged the whole thing today.

“Did he force you to date Simone?”

“No, I asked Bruce to help me.”

Hilla stood surprised.

Bruce’s eyes were cold and his voice was calm. “They have time to know each other and then fall in love.”

“Nothing. I just don’t want you to be my brother-in-law!”

Horton cursed, “A bastard.”
