They can also choose to be a mercenary a role that has no such restrictions, however, their missions are harder. If it were to be compared with the role of the resistance since they will be given a helping hand by the npcs

“Don’t try to butter us up, what the hell was all of that? It seems that your troops didn’t even know who they were pointing at. I thought were given a position that matches your rankings and the leader itself. Which is pretty much a strange thing for that much hostility to be pointed at our group,” Sam was furious with their actions that would’ve endangered the group. Even though the five of them were given a respectable treatment that befitted their role

“I’m truly sorry for that kind of behavior, we didn’t have anything against the five of you. I’m merely following the orders that came out of the mouth of our leader,”

“Then why did your leader tell you to do such a thing? I thought you need help, but the way you welcome your allies is a little bit suspicious no?” Morris joined their conversation whilst the others were either resting. Or they had their injuries treated by the members of the resistance

“It is a way of protecting your true identity,” Yuri replied to his answer whilst she remained kneeling in their presence

“Protection what do you mean by that? Also can you please stand up? It’s a little hard to converse with you if we’re not on the same standing or not having eye contact,” After she said those words, Yuri guided the two of them inside her quarters. Where they discussed such a private matter that can’t be leaked to their lower-ranking members

Our leader made it clear that he wouldn’t endanger the mission, since your group and the other mercenaries. She wasted not a single piece of information left within her hands, only for the reason of reinforcing the trust. Which would’ve been lost on their side, if their party leader would choose to not cooperate with their future projects. Hence the reason why she gave lowered her honor just the sole purpose of acquiring a trust that was recently lost

“Do you think she’s telling the truth?” The two of them left her quarters once they’d heard everything they wanted

“The possibility of one of their own being an enemy spy isn’t zero even if they were too strict with their requirements. Plus, they wouldn’t get anything for provoking us no? I’ve already anticipated this kind of thing to occur,” Morris replied after she had a little hint of suspicion toward the npcs

“That’s the point of all this… If you know about all of this and didn’t even lash out the second they apologize to you, wouldn’t it be suspicious? Our role is a bunch of muscle-brained mercenaries, that kind of reaction is what they expect from us. If we act like a bunch of people that know their every move, wouldn’t that be called a potential spy? Instead of a gullible knight, he became somewhat of a scheming person that can anticipate anyone’s next move. His class which he said to be a knight changes from a hidden class called magic swordsman. Which allowed him the ability to use both martial arts and magic at will

“You truly are somewhat different from the image we’ve got from your first introduction, even I have fallen into your tricks. However, your ulterior motives correlated with our problems, it seems that the enemy you currently face. Is targeting our comrade, apart from that your true identity was said to have died in the termination quest. Isn’t that right Mr. Knight?” She revealed his true identity after the two of them were all alone. With not a single presence that followed them from the shadows

“It seems like you’ve already had a very good guess. I’m surprised you’re the only one that noticed it,” He simply smiled and patted her on the back after she guessed his current identity

“How can I believe that you weren’t? An uncommon weapon isn’t that easy for anyone to acquire. And the area where it occurred was only a mile or two from our camp. I also smelled a bunch of blood that was buried under a pile of thick snow and ice that build up over time. Lastly, the time I saw your familiar made me believe all of these assumptions to be true. Seeing as our camping trip was too peaceful even for those who are careful and well prepared, it seems a little off,”

Even after knowing full well that his motives and actions were to use them to gain a little bit of everything that he schemed. She wasn’t the one that would attack or come to be hostile to anyone that betrayed her trust. She knows her strengths and weaknesses which was a trait best suited for a survivor. And her intuition told her that the greatest thing she have ever come across was this player

“I guessed that solves the reason why my head hasn’t been severed from my body. I’m useful to your team… That’s the reason why im still alive,”

“Don’t you think that’s a little unbecoming of you? After all, you’re the one that wanted to be acquainted with the three of us when we first met. A leader that displays itself to the eye of the public. And a mastermind that stays close behind its chosen puppet, whether they loathe one another. They can’t seem to separate from something that will aid them to acquire their desired results. Henceforth a symbiotic relationship that benefits from each other’s differences. That unknowingly helps the other from their own set of problems
