As soon as a fee chunk of its body and flesh reached a surface it consumed the evo gas. The pieces of discarded body parts rise from their location and turn into a weaker version of the boss. They had a tail and an agile focused body structure and a hint of venomous properties

“I never thought I’d fight beside the likes of you,” Shin slices through the flesh of the monsters while Morris assisted in fighting the ones on his side. The two of them covered each other’s backs whilst they let their weaker members escape

“It’s a mutual feeling, now, start hacking instead of yapping,” Morris goes on to activate haste while he fought four monsters at the same time

With their allies out of the picture, they turned the room into an all-out assault between the two of them and the monsters. With every swing that came from both sides daggers or claws marked every nook and cranny until the ancient-looking laboratory. Their heated battle bring about the destruction of the laboratory and it was reduced to a pitiful state of rubble and later became ruins. Their long and tiring clash with both sides ended when Shin and Morris outwitted their opponents

Spikes came out from its body that appeared out of nowhere and block their only exit. Its power wasn’t a problem however its agility and quick attack overwhelmed the three into a corner

“Shit, what now? We left two of our main damaged dealers to escape,” Gale deflected the homunculus’s attack from ever reaching the two whilst he received a major hit

“It’s too fast I can’t see its movements,” Yoona grabbed her knife when she realizes that her arrows are of no use

“Give me some time to prepare, I have a solution for our crisis,” Blake handed the two of them some healing potions

“How long will that take?” Yoona entered a stance whilst she paid close attention to the homunculus’s next move

Get a move on I’ll try my best to give you the time you requested,” The two of them charged toward the homunculus where they engaged in a close-quarter fight. With their combined attacks they stopped the homunculus’s advances when it switches its target to their support

This choice made them experience a ton of near-death situations with every passing second. They focused their eyes on their opponent’s movement only avoiding its deadly attack. Those that didn’t threaten the two of their lives were permitted to land

“Apothecary’s protection,” In the nick of time, Black cast his spell healing them of their injuries. He shouts their next move and they do as he command, they apprehended the homunculus. Though this might cost them their lives, it gave him the time he needs, and threw the potion that irritated their foe. This resulted in its spikes being flinged

Not only was it sharp but the amount that the homunculus removed from its body was enough to fill them with a ton of holes. But it was repelled by three individuals that appeared to save their lives. One of them was familiar to Yoona while the other two were a pair of powerhouses that manages to repel the spikes

“Sorry I’m late, I got lost in the middle of the forest,” Hugo kicked the homunculus while the other two had a ring shining brightly that had a design similar that of Morris’s ring

“Are you perhaps Morris’s companions?” Yoona said while Kyo’s eyes sparkled

“You know the boss’s location? Please tell us we’ve been looking for him,” Esther interrupted Kyo’s conversation when she deflected the spike that was aimed at his body

“Keep yourself, alive, before you get excited, take a rest we’ll handle where you stopped,” Esther unsheathed her blade and Kyo morphed back into his awakened state

‘Who the hell are they? They caught the spikes like they’re nothing and a beast? No, what is he? I haven’t heard of a beast that can change into a human form whilst having a pair of ears and a tail,’

Before they could react the blood that spilled from the fight against the homunculus was collected. It drank Gale and Yoona’s blood while it changed its stance from bipedal to all fours, whilst driving back its foot. It looks like it was a spring its body builds momentum and charges at Kyo. Piercing him of his body only for it to be surprised by the results

Kyo transformed into a furry beast that and his height changed from 4 feet tall to 6 his once small arms and legs mutated into a beast-like form. He held his own in front of the homunculus while Esther and Hugo closes in clashing their blades that were stopped with their materialized spikes. It then notices its spikes to be broken once Kyo had regenerated his wounds

“You need to try a lot better than that my boss’s attacks hit harder than your pitiful slash!!!” Kyo punched the homunculus down to the ground cracking the surrounding floor in his area

This gave the two of them, the needed time to apply a barrage of slashes that severed the homunculus limbs. Finally, it stopped moving, and Kyo pulls out his claws which reverted to his previous form. He returned to look like a harmless 10-year-old boy covered with bruises

“I can’t believe all of you survived with these kinds of monsters roaming around this warehouse,” Esther wiped off the blood stains she acquired from hacking the homunculus

“Well, they wouldn’t stand a chance if the boss wasn’t with them… I can imagine it clear as day, his stressed-out face,” After a few minutes of rest, they were waiting for the arrival of their allies

The ring of the two glowed brighter and brighter as seconds pass soon after they met a black-haired person that looked exactly like their missing ally. They didn’t doubt their eyes and jump at Morris revealing a different personality from the one they displayed back in their fight

“Woah there you guys are always jumpy it’s nice to see that the two of you are still breathing,” Morris notices that a nearby body part of the homunculus moving to shoot out a spike. It was aimed toward Shin, without hesitating, he jumps to take the attack head-on

“Boss!!!” Kyo screamed as he sees Morris lying on the ground while his heart was pierced with a spike. Esther subdued the body part and her eyes broke out in tears. After they got separated for a very long time, she sees Morris on the brink of death

“Morris, no, no, no!!! You can’t die!!! You idiot, Morris wake up, don’t close your eyes, please don’t do this to me,” Esther said while Morris kept bleeding and everyone gathered everything they have to heal him only for it to have no effect whatsoever

“Damn… They’re overreacting it’s just a mirage of myself I can’t believe them… I thought Kyo would’ve realized that it wasn’t the real me,” He was crouching in a room near the Quadrex where he was controlling an afterimage of himself through his mind

“What can I say, I need them to escape. I can’t let them see my schemes, I want to finish that mission you gave me. Thank you for letting me use it before I accepted your mission,” He bowed to his deity to show his appreciation
