Chapter 47: Stirring the pot
Kellen had only been gone from his home for a little over 24 hours, but it felt like he hadn’t been to the apartment in forever. Part of it, he felt, had to do with the fact that he was spending so much time here prior to his brief break yesterday.
The time when he was supposed to be having a moment with Charlie, everything went shitty, and then he ended up in the Medical Bay for a day to do a test. Thinking about it made it sound so exciting, but that excluded the hours of tests that he had to go through, and the pain he had been in while it was happening.
Rhys swept Kellen in through the doorway, making sure the door was closed behind him snugly before he took off his shoes and headed directly for the stairs.
“What? No couch cuddles?” Kellen joked and Rhys made a soft noise of complaint in his throat.
“You still need rest. I’m not going to squish you into the couch cushions. It’s not as comfortable.” Rhys protested and Kellen let out a snort.
“But you could suck my cock on the couch?” Kellen asked and Rhys’ steps stuttered for a second. When he put his foot down on the step, it was a little louder than the other steps so far he’d taken.
“You weren’t injured when I was doing that.” Rhys countered. Kellen smirked. Touché, Rhys. That was a good comeback.
“So if I’m not injured it’s okay?” Kellen asked and Rhys stopped, almost at the landing. He gave Kellen a slightly helpless look.
“Can you please cut me some slack? I am doing my best to be on my best behaviour, to not let my S Class tendencies overwhelm us both, and you are making this exceedingly hard. You also kissed Green on the cheek, Kellen. I’m still upset about that.” Rhys said, and Kellen chuckled. Rhys seemed even less pleased when he heard him laugh. “Kellen.” He warned, and Kellen smiled up at Rhys.
“I’m sorry for laughing, and I understand that you are trying to be on your best behaviour. However, this is our house. You don’t need to be on your best behaviour around me and in your own home. Our home. Unless…you don’t feel comfortable around me?” Kellen was pushing his luck, he knew that. However, he was in such a good mood that he couldn’t help it.
Rhys growled.
“That’s it. Someone’s getting a damn spanking as soon as I’m given the green light.” Rhys growled.
“Oh no. That sounds terrible. I’m so scared.” Kellen felt like he sounded like a shitty actor, and from the glare that Rhys gave him, he had succeeded in his attempt to annoy him.
“You are looking for trouble, aren’t you?” Rhys asked and Kellen gave a rather enthusiastic nod in agreement.
“You’re right, I am. I am aiming for you to cave before I do.” Kellen told him cheekily and Rhys’ eyes widened. He looked away from Kellen, annoyed by the Guide, as he began to climb the stairs again. He kicked open the door, before gently tossing Kellen into the bed.
It was such a soft throw, probably assisted by his powers, that Kellen was barely rocked when he hit the bed. Rhys climbed on top of him, his eyes yellow and threatening.
“That’s dangerous, Kellen.” Rhys warned and Kellen grinned up at him, all cheekiness and joy. He reached up, tugging at Rhys’ lapel on his Captain’s jacket, looking up at him through his lashes.
“Is it? How dangerous are we talking? You know I like a little bit of…adventure.” Kellen teased and watched as Rhys tilted his head back, his eyes closing as he clenched his jaw. Kellen could tell that the man was fighting for his life.
Kellen slid his hand up from the lapel of his jacket up and around his neck. He gripped the back of his neck tightly, watching Rhys exhale roughly, his body shaking before Kellen slid his fingers into his hair and sunk his nails in. Rhys’ whole body shook.
“Demon.” Rhys uttered, clearly entranced with Kellen’s actions. Kellen chuckled.
“Don’t pretend you aren’t thrilled with this turn of events. I’m only like this with you.” Kellen told him. Rhys let out a curse.
“Fuck.” Kellen watched him, taking in how every little touch and breath from Kellen had the man shaking and trembling. Kellen knew he was grasping onto his self control like it was a 100 pound dog and the leash was the only then between the dog and a pile of feathers that used to be a bird.
Kellen’s smile was cheshire in nature as he stared up at the man.
“My sweet, powerful lover Rhys.” Kellen whispered. “What a kind, lovely man I can call my own.” Rhys’ eyes nearly bulged out his face as Kellen’s words washed over him.
“What?” Rhys nearly choked, but Kellen wasn’t done.
“Look at how strong he is. His shoulders are so broad and firm, I just know I can depend on them. And his chest is so bouncy, perfect for resting on. His abs are defined and his ass is good for squeezing. His thighs are thick, great for grabbing and biting and don’t get me started on his co-” Rhys’ hand landed on top of Kellen’s mouth, his eyes fevered as he stared down at him. Kellen felt oddly victorious.
“You are going to drive me insane.” Rhys accused. “All of this effort, and it’s going to be my own Guide who is going to be the nail in my coffin.” Rhys sounded exasperated, and a tinge desperate. Kellen pressed a kiss against the hand covering his mouth and Rhys’ lips turned up, clearly at his limit. “Just you wait. When I get the green light that you’re in the clear, you aren’t walking for days, Kellen. I’m serious. We’re locked up in the apartment and I am going to give you the treatment I fucking promised before you took control into your own hands.” Rhys warned. He leaned in, his breath fanning Kellen’s ear. “Slow, my pace, so much cum that your body won’t be able to produce more. You’re going to need to be carried for days after. Probably going to have to go to the Medical Bay to get patched up.” Rhys whispered and Kellen felt his breath catch.
He gently pushed Rhys’ hand away from his mouth so that he could speak. He met the slightly crazed gaze of the man above him, his lips curling up as he spoke.
“Don’t threaten me with a good time.” Kellen whispered and Rhys shuddered.
One moment he was on top of him, the next moment he was across the room, pacing.
“I’m so hard it’s a damn crime.” Rhys growled, adjusting his cock in his pants as he paced. Kellen, for his part, just grabbed a few pillows and tucked them under him from behind. It was a rather awkward ordeal, but he managed to do so until he was sitting up, watching the other man pace the floor.
“What’s stopping you from just whipping it out and jerking off? Don’t let me being here stop you.” Kellen did his best to look innocent and Rhys growled and snapped his head in Kellen’s direction.
Kellen knew he didn’t pull it off as his dirty smile split his lips.
“Performance anxiety?” Kellen asked sweetly and Rhys rolled his gaze.
“You are being a damn brat, and the worst part is I don’t think you even know what that means.” Rhys told him and Kellen laughed.
“That’s what a bad child is, right?” Kellen asked and Rhys came to a stop and shook his head.
“I think, Kellen, since you’re going to have all this free time while you are healing, that you should look into what I’ve suggested you look into before. The sexual dynamics, and honestly, what brat means too. You need to know, because you need to know that this comes with punishments, Kellen.” Rhys’ gaze that Kellen made a shiver run down his spine.
“Punishments?” Kellen asked softly and Rhys’ gaze narrowed.
“Don’t pretend like we haven’t done them before. At some point, Kellen, I’m thinking that the next step?” Rhys let out a soft sound that had the hair standing up on Kellen’s neck. “The next step is going to be so much fun for the both of us.” Rhys’ eyes shifted to gold, a warning if Kellen ever had one.
Kellen knew that on some level, he’d won. However, it didn’t feel as good as he had hoped. Instead, he was filled with worry. Worry over what Rhys was implying, and why it was so important for him to do that research.
“I’m supposed to get Charlie all the information about S Class Guides and any info he missed on Guides.” Kellen told Rhys. It was clearly a sign that Kellen was growing uncomfortable, but Rhys just smiled.
It was calculated, and worrying. Kellen had stirred the pot, but now he was getting scared as it bubbled.
“Oh, I never said you needed to worry about that. You are always more than welcome to do that. However, you should also do that research as well. Otherwise, I’ll be the one to go through it with you.” Rhys tilted his head to the side, smiling. “What’s wrong, Kellen? I think you liked researching things?” Rhys asked smugly and Kellen swallowed.
“I do like to research things.” Kellen agreed. “However, I feel like things will change forever once I do.” Kellen told him and Rhys grinned.
“What a good boy you are.” Rhys told him, and Kellen felt a shiver run down his spine. “Now, we’re going to cuddle and you better not rub against my cock, Kellen. Or else I’m going to rat you out to Green.” Rhys warned with a wink and Kellen actually felt a cold shiver run down his spine.
That was a threat.
