Two massive protrusions tore out from beneath his shoulder blades, forcing their way through muscle and skin as new limbs began to form. Blood sprayed outward as bones extended rapidly, elongating and twisting into shape before being wrapped in layers of dense, demonic muscle.

Another pair followed.

Then another.

Each arm forced its way into existence with violent resistance, tearing through his own body as though even his flesh struggled to contain what he was becoming.

Six arms.

His demonic force erupted outward in a violent surge, far denser and more oppressive than before, swallowing the battlefield in its overwhelming presence.

All six hands clenched while the green torch roared.

“You…” all three of Duke Haborym’s voices overlapped, low and heavy, “I will save for last.”

Before Damian could react, the Duke vanished. This time there was no burst of fire and no puff of smoke. He simply disappeared, causing Damian’s eyes to widen as his instincts screamed in alarm.

For a split second, he felt it.

A presence.

Right beside him.

Duke Haborym was walking past him.

Not rushing. Not dashing. Just walking.

And he could not react.

As the Duke passed, Damian felt all three heads turn slightly, their eyes dragging across him with a slow, deliberate stare that sent a cold spike down his spine.

A thunderous explosion shook the battlefield.

Damian’s head snapped back, and what he saw made his pupils shrink.

Corbin was seated on the ground, frozen, his eyes wide with shock. Standing in front of him was Gilbert, his massive form planted firmly like an immovable wall.

One of his wings had expanded outward, used to block three massive fists.

Duke Haborym’s right arms had already struck.

All three punches had been thrown at once, aimed directly at Corbin’s head, but Gilbert’s wing had intercepted them, the divine feathers burning as they resisted the overwhelming force.

Without hesitation, all three of his right arms shifted. His claws dug into Gilbert’s wing, gripping tightly, and then he pulled.

“GRAAH!”

With terrifying ease, the Duke of Hell lifted Gilbert off the ground, dragging his massive eight-foot frame into the air as though he weighed nothing.

The sight stunned both Damian and Corbin.

Gilbert was no ordinary being, yet he was being manhandled like a child.

Corbin’s breath caught, and Damian’s eyes sharpened. But before either could react—

Flash!

A burst of golden light erupted. In the next instant, Gilbert tore free, his body shooting backward through the air while dragging Corbin along with him as divine energy flared around them.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

Three severed arms dropped to the ground.

Blood sprayed violently from the stumps, splattering across the shattered street as the massive limbs twitched where they landed. For a brief moment, even the battlefield seemed to pause.

But Duke Haborym did not flinch.

He simply raised what remained of his arms, bringing the severed ends up to eye level as he examined them with mild curiosity. His flesh began writhing, and his muscles twisted.

In an instant, bone surged forward.

Before their very eyes, new palms burst out from the severed ends, growing rapidly and reshaping themselves into fully formed hands within seconds.

The blood stopped.

The wounds closed as if nothing had ever happened.

Duke Haborym flexed all six of his hands slowly, the sound of cracking joints echoing across the battlefield as his three faces twisted into a satisfied grin.

“You will have to do better than that.”

Damian’s heart skipped a beat as memories flashed through his mind.

He remembered the night his wives warned him not to fight the Duke, insisting he would lose. Now he finally understood.

They had not exaggerated.
