The journey back was uneventful. With their pursuers thrown off their trail, all Racheal and Damain had to do was wait for their return flight, which was scheduled for the following night.

By the morning of the third day, they had returned to the Maldives, while Lith and Loth flew straight to Chicago, where they were expected to secure an apartment near Damain’s mansion and wait for his return. From that moment onward, they were to serve Damain directly.

Damain’s stay in the Maldives did not last long. Most of the vacation had already been spent before the trip to Mexico, so only a few days later, they returned to the United States. Chancellor Delaney’s case still demanded attention. Adrian still needed to be found, and his church still needed to be built. There was no time to waste.

The force of his sudden stop sent a gust of wind crashing into the door, flinging it open violently. He strode into the empty room and stretched out his hand.

Almost immediately, space twisted and warped violently as cash began pouring out, flooding the room within seconds and stacking to a height of four to five feet.

Damain fell back onto the pile, lying atop the mountain of money as he stared at the ceiling, a wild gleam in his eyes.

Five hundred and fifty million dollars.

Half a billion.

He was now wealthier than Twenty Shots. If not for the cartel’s manpower and influence, he might not have needed them at all.

“Someone looks happy.”

Hazel’s voice came from the doorway.

Damain smiled without turning his head. “Money makes everyone happy. It’s not my fault.”

“I agree…”

He felt movement as someone climbed onto the pile of cash. Hazel made her way to him and lay beside him, her hands resting lightly on his chest.

“Now it’s time you put that money to use and get yourself better things…” she continued.

Damain rolled his eyes. He had not expected even demons to be this materialistic. After living for thousands of years, how could they still care this much about money?

“What do you want to do?” Damain asked directly.

Hazel’s smile bloomed. “Change a few things. Like your car. Something befitting the status of a prince.” She giggled.

Damain was about to agree, since he had already considered upgrading his car, but then he froze. His instincts stirred, whispering caution.

His wives had access to their own wealth. They did not need his permission for anything. The fact that Hazel was asking meant something else was at play.

Damain’s ears sharpened, but he heard nothing else in the building.

Which only made it worse.

They were listening.

All three of them.

This was a setup.

“What kind of vehicle are you planning to buy?” he asked, his voice edged with suspicion.

“It’s meant to be a surprise,” Hazel replied without hesitation.

Damain narrowed his eyes and studied her for several seconds, but she did not break. Her expression remained steady, unwavering, forcing him to exhale in quiet defeat.

“Alright. Just don’t go too far.”

He had five hundred and fifty million dollars. How much damage could they really do?

Damain pushed himself up from the pile when Hazel spoke again.

“Hazel told us you’re looking to get another property far from here for your cursed weapon experiment… Let me handle that as well.”

Damain blinked, confusion flashing across his face. Why would they be interested in that?

“Don’t worry. It won’t affect your plans in any way. I promise. We just want to pick the optimal location…” Hazel added quickly when she noticed the tension forming on his face.

He looked at her again, holding her gaze for several moments before letting out another sigh.

“Alright… I’ll trust all of you with this.”

Since all three of his wives were involved, there was little point in resisting. He would simply wait and see what they had planned.

He rose to his feet, leaving Hazel staring at him in confusion. Moments ago, they had been lying on a mountain of money. Now he was walking away.

“Are you going somewhere?” she asked.

“Yeah… I need to meet Twenty and get updates on the church and Adrian,” Damain replied.

Puff!

Two bursts of flame ignited behind him as Racheal and Ruby appeared, flanking his sides.

“Let us know when you find that bastard,” Ruby hissed.

“Yeah… we deserve to torture him a bit for the shock he put us through,” Racheal added, her voice cold.

Damain chuckled softly despite knowing they were serious. It did not matter. He already intended to kill Adrian. If letting them have their moment brought them satisfaction, he had no reason to deny them.

He leaned forward and kissed Hazel on the forehead, then brushed his lips against Racheal and Ruby’s cheeks before turning away and leaving them behind.

Damain stepped outside only to find Loth standing beside his black sedan, dressed in a tight black suit that traced every curve of her figure with deliberate precision.

She gave a slight bow, controlled and elegant, before lifting her gaze to meet his.

“On Lady Racheal’s orders, I will be serving as your personal assistant from now on,” she said, her tone respectful and measured.

Damain was about to respond when Racheal’s voice echoed softly in his mind.

“You promised to be kind to your subordinates…”

Damain let out a slow, heavy sigh, his gaze shifting away for a brief moment. Truly, pleasing women was a task that never seemed to end. Race, status, even nature itself did nothing to change that fact.
