Damian slowly nodded, understanding settling in.

“Agreed.” Damian nodded and leaned back into his seat, his posture relaxing even as his mind sharpened. “But what does he have to do with this situation?”

Racheal froze for a moment, her expression turning thoughtful as she carefully chose her words.

“I believe he suspects you have something to do with this trade,” she said slowly. “That is why they offered such astronomical sums just to draw us in.
