“My head hurts,” she was complaining, but her voice was calm.

Alexander slightly increased the pressure he was putting on Michelle’s temple, as if trying to massage the pain away.

“Just rest now. It will get better in a while.” It was rare for him to be so gentle and Michelle couldn’t quite wrap her head around it.

But with the throbbing in her head, she couldn’t even think about it much and just closed her eyes to enjoy the massage.

After massaging her temples for a while, Alexander proceeded to massage her whole scalp and the back of her neck, greatly soothing Michelle’s pain.

It was like he exactly knew which spot to press to alleviate any new pain as soon as it appeared.

But, unfortunately, the massage wasn’t helping with the pain that already appeared before Alexander started the massage.

Under the soothing of Alexander’s massage, Michelle slowly got better.

And maybe, it would even be easier to find a way to strengthen the contract so Tenether couldn’t break it on his own, than really breaking it, because reinforcing it wouldn’t be going against the Heavenly Law and the natural laws.

But that would be completely breaking Tenether’s trust and ruin the relationship completely.

After angering him like that, Michelle could never be sure that he wouldn’t sabotage her.

“Then reinforce the contract, so he can’t break it and hurt you.”

Michelle shook her head.

“That’s a no‑go.”

With her stubbornness, there was no convincing her otherwise.

Alexander could only sigh.

“So, what’s your plan?” he asked.

Michelle lifted her shoulders carelessly.

“I didn’t think about that yet,” she answered truthfully.

The moment Michelle’s words fell, Alexander tightened his grip around her waist.

“Then think about it now.” He pressed his face against the side of her neck.

“What’s the point of making a plan…? Even if Tenether does break the contract himself, it won’t hurt me all that much.” Michelle was in an extremely lazy mood.

Maybe that was still an aftereffect of having been in the Starving Cub state, or maybe because of the massage Alexander had given her.

Laziness was her new, but temporary, friend.

Alexander snickered.

“A mark from you is a gift, isn’t it? And doesn’t it sound nice to have me marked as yours? Just like I marked you as mine…”

With the last sentence, he moved his hand to Michelle’s neck and pressed on the bite mark.

Michelle turned her whole body so she was facing Alexander completely.

“It does sound nice, indeed. You being mine…” she smiled wide.

“Oh… how nice it sounds…” she let out a suppressed chuckle.

Hearing that chuckle, Alexander had a bad feeling about it, even though that rarely happened.

Especially around Michelle.

“You are laughing like a sick child,” he commented.

Michelle raised a brow.

“A sick child? I didn’t know children could laugh when near someone like you,” she couldn’t help but jab.

At the same time, she moved her hands to Alexander’s neck, tugging at the neckline of his robe.
