Michelle trained with the little snake double around her neck until Lucas came to the training grounds.

Seeing him, Michelle turned off the machine.

“Teacher,” she greeted him.

Lucas swept his gaze over Michelle and noticed that after being repetitively struck in her abdomen, her posture had shifted again.

Seeing the grin on Michelle’s face, it wasn’t hard to guess who the snake was from.

Nearly everyone in the Academy (and definitely all the teachers) knew that the new guest teacher was the lover of the Second Headmaster’s daughter.

“Won’t it get in the way of your training?” Lucas was skeptical about letting Michelle continue training with a snake on her neck.

What if it suddenly got scared by something (since it was clearly a young snake) and accidentally choked her?

With its length, that could be quite possible.

Because though the snake was small (namely very thin) it was already long enough to loosely loop around Michelle’s neck two times.

“And why is that?” he probed.

“That’s simple!” Michelle was still smiling.

“I made a contract with it. A contracted beast can never hurt its master.”

That was the case with most contracts, and since everyone in the Academy (except Vincent, Marcus, and Antony) thought Michelle (as Ana Ostrich) was extremely weak when it came to spirit energy cultivation, they naturally assumed she could only form the simple contracts.

And those contracts didn’t allow the two contracted parties to hurt each other.

Naturally, Lucas thought Michelle formed that kind of contract with the little snake.

He did know that she had more than met the eye, but for that he gave the credit to her physique.

Michelle was quite happy to hear that.

She didn’t really want to have to think about where to put the snake if she couldn’t train with it.

Because she was sure it would wake up the moment she would try to take it off her neck.

After settling the things about the snake and the training, Lucas finally went on to explain why he even came to the training grounds.

Earlier, he left Michelle to train alone and she was to come look for him when she noticed that the training had changed her posture or something like that.

Or, the two could be combined; she would have to take on the attacks of the machine, while also having to dodge attacks from another machine.

And all the while she would have to balance herself on her hands and not let blood rush into her brain.

Michelle found that training method quite interesting.

And she also understood why Lucas came to her to test the method.

As far as she knew, none of Lucas’ other students trained like she did, by getting repetitively struck in the abdomen.

So, if the new training method involved getting hit, testing it on her seemed smart.

But there was just one problem.

At the moment, because of staging as Ana Ostrich, Michelle was dressed in a dress.

That wasn’t a good clothing to do a handstand in.

So, Michelle agreed with Lucas she would go change clothes before testing the method.

Quickly, Michelle went back to her dorm room and changed into pants and a shirt before returning, naturally the snake still with her.

In the meantime, Lucas was already setting up a new machine for her, the one that would shoot at her much more powerful attacks that she would have to dodge.

Otherwise she would get quite hurt.

Lucas decided that without any danger, the training would be dull.

So, once Michelle was back, Lucas finally asked her if she could do a handstand, or if she needed to learn it.

Once her weight was on her hands again, her elbows buckled, but before she could fall, Lucas gripped her ankles and held her up, not letting her fall.

“I will slowly let go of you. Get your joints and muscles used to it.”

Michelle gave a slight nod and properly tightened the muscles in her hands.

In the meantime Lucas let go of one of her legs, taking away part of the support.

Michelle flexed that leg above herself before completely straightening it.

After just a while more, Michelle was doing the handstand completely on her own.

But she doubted she could yet start walking on her hands.

She first needed to get used to balancing herself on her hands by moving around her feet and such.

Unlike in her past life, when handstands were completely effortless for her, at the moment, she felt it strain her wrists, elbows, and shoulders.

Her altered joints weren’t handling it well.

“The handstand hurts you?” Lucas could see that Michelle’s expression was uncomfortably twisted.

She was aware she needed to train her hands.
