While pushing her soul energy into the Soul Seeking Pendants, she suddenly felt her contract with Nyxaroth move, so she stopped and opened her eyes. “What’s going on, Nyx?” she asked. “Something happened on your end?”

“Yes…” Nyxaroth’s voice was the same as always, disturbingly raspy, but Michelle was already used to it. The only time his voice was normal was when he was in his human form, but he much more preferred being in the state of a mist. “The person from the lower realm who was in Malrik’s mansion the whole time left. He’s probably going to meet the old man you mentioned, so tell Cold Flame and others to be careful.”

Michelle nodded a bit. “I see… I’ll tell them. You be careful too.” With that, she cut off the connection and contacted Cold Flame. After she told him what Nyxaroth said, he told her that it seemed that old man Sloan was about to make a move, and that was probably why the person who was in Malrik’s mansion went to meet him. “Cold Flame, once they make a move, contact me!” Michelle finally said before returning her attention to the Soul Seeking Pendants.

She noticed that the group with the more gentle marks, the tildes, had some pendants into which it was harder to insert her soul energy, while into the others it went more smoothly and with the pendants with the sharp, aggressive marks, it was completely smooth, without any resistance.

That made her frown a bit. Was the smoothness what decided how the souls inside would end up if the pendants were broken? Most probably yes, and she wanted to test it right away, but she couldn’t, because if her guess was right and the souls returned to their bodies which were in Garric’s and Malrik’s mansions, the Sloan family would instantly notice it.

Though it wouldn’t be a big problem, Michele didn’t like the idea of them knowing, so she didn’t break the pendants just yet and, instead, left the annex and went to the Imperial Palace. If the Sloans were going to make a move, they would probably try to seek out Michael Grayson in the palace.

Michelle didn’t go into the palace, and just hid by the front gate, using her dark element spirit energy and Shadow Spirit Steps, to wait for the Sloan family. She was expecting them to come within the next two days.

And in deed, they appeared at the early dawn of the next morning, when the whole empire was still asleep and even the guards in the Imperial Palace were sluggish, thinking that nothing would happen when morning was already nearing. And that was what the Sloan family used; they wanted to barge into the palace and demand for the little Emperor to give them his teacher, Michael Grayson, so they could then force him to give them back the pendants.

But their plan just showed their arrogance and stupidity. They had clearly experienced defeat in Michael Grayson’s hands once because he had outsmarted them, and they still thought he wouldn’t be able to guess that they will try to barge in early in the morning. Well… Michelle indeed didn’t guess it, but that was only because she thought they were intelligent enough to not come in the morning since she had already humbled them once. But at the moment, it was finally clear to her that their arrogance knew no boundaries.

Which made her smirk coldly. Since they were presenting themselves at her doorstep at a time when there would be no witnesses, she could act without worrying too much.

So, when the group was just a few meters away from the palace gates, she put on her disguise mask to look like an ordinary blond-haired and green-eyed pretty girl and appeared in front of them with a smile. It was the same smile she showed when she killed the assassins which the Emperor Emeritus sent after her in the forest. A gentle and sweet smile looking like a blessing from gods which pleased souls and made hearts flutter. But those who had that smile directed at them, didn’t live to tell the tale. They either died shortly after seeing the smile, or were tortured to death after Michelle captured them.

Seeing the sweet young girl in front of him before dawn, when the surroundings were still bright, the old man frowned. He wasn’t so stupid as to think that she was on an early morning walk. “Little girl, what are you doing here so early in the morning?” he asked warily. For a hundred-over-year-old man, a fifteen-year-old like Michelle was indeed just a little girl.

But Michelle didn’t say anything. In her past life, she was called the Mute Bloody Queen for a good reason. Before anyone could react, her scythe from her spirit domain appeared in her hands and her, at the moment, green eyes narrowed into smiling crescents. Old man Sloan frowned and was about to shout orders when cold wind passed by him and Michelle appeared right behind him, her back towards him. She bent the scythe behind her and put it right in front of him, pressing the scythe’s inner blade to his neck.

Then, her eyes quickly counted the number of the people in the group and summoned the same number of Spirit Clones, all holding scythes. Without her needing to say a thing, the clones cut apart the group, leaving only the old man alive. Blood splattered around and fell on Michelle and the clones.

Here and there, some blood landed on old man Sloan too, letting him know what happened. All his subordinates died silently, without even having the chance to retaliate. That was the power of the fifteen-year-old girl who stopped him just before he could barge into the palace.

Realizing what had happened, the old man’s knees went weak, and he nearly fell down, but his willpower kept him up, as he knew that if he moved, he would fall right onto the sharp blade of Michele’s scythe.

“Clean this place before the guards come here!” Michelle told the clones coldly as she kept the scythe’s blade pressed to the old man’s neck. She then turned to face look at his back. She remained silent, but her sweet smile deepened as she slowly moved the scythe over his neck in a way to not cut him.

The old man gulped down, knowing that she was threatening him. One wrong move and he would die. “Who… are you? What do you want from me? Why did you kill my subordinates? Are you working together with that Michael Grayson?” he asked, his voice fearful.

Michelle didn’t say a word as her shifting weapon appeared in her hand in the shape of a dagger, and she pressed it to the back of the man’s neck, making him freeze. Then, she raised the dagger and slashed down. The blunt side covered with her spirit energy hit his neck, knocking him out easily.

The dagger only left a bruise on the old man’s neck, but his neck still bled. Because Michelle didn’t care about his safety too much, she moved the scythe away from his neck a moment later than she should have, so as he fainted and fell, his neck got grazed by the blade. Though she didn’t mind the least bit.

Enveloping the old man by her spirit energy, she threw him into the space in her spatial bracelet which could store living things, so she didn’t have to bother with transporting him. She tended to forget about her spatial ring and bracelet as it didn’t exist in her past life, and she didn’t use it much in her new life. She was only slowly getting used to it.

Leaving her Spirit Clones behind to clean up the blood and cut-up bodies, Michelle went to the Archduchy to change out of her bloodstained clothes, took off her disguise mask, and put on a dark purple dress made from quite thin and light fabric.

It was already over half a year since she came to the new world and back then, it was early spring, but at the moment, fall was starting coloring the trees into vibrant colors. Michelle had ice and dark element spirit energy, which made her extremely sensitive to heat, so even in fall, she wore thin dresses as the summer was unbearable for her, but luckily, most of it, she spent cultivating, so she didn’t die of heat.

As fall came, she was still a bit hot, and she couldn’t wait for the cold winter to come. Firstly, she was curious about the winter, whether it was the same as in her past life, with snow everywhere, and secondly, she wanted to enjoy the one part of the year when she wouldn’t feel hot in the thinnest of clothes.

Though she knew that people would look at her strangely, since she would be the only crazy person in thin person during the winter, she didn’t care. She was a cultivator of ice and dark element spirit energy, and she valued her comfort the most.
