Her neck was vital for her, so she always protected it.

There, the snake wouldn’t get hurt.

If she kept it on her wrist, things could go wrong.

What if she got into a fight and the snake got hurt?

Or, with how she knew herself, not used to having a snake to take care of, Michelle could end up doing some kind of experiment which could result in the snake hurting if it was at her wrist.

But since she always protected her neck, the risk was radically reduced.
