It was like a light bulb lit in my head and my mind drifted to a few weeks ago after I returned from the funeral, when that name had appeared when I ran into that man who was oddly familiar only for his surname to be Orlov

“Do you by chance know any Orlov family?” I had asked Genny after being confronted by Erica, from the way her eyes shifted, I was certain she recognised the name.

“That’s not a name you should casually ask about.” She said, her eyes cautiously shifted around

“Just tell me “, I urged. Genny grabbed my hand and pulled me into the corner ..

“Where did you hear that name from? I hope you didn’t get into trouble with anyone with that surname.” She said in hushed tones. My curiosity piqued seeing her reaction

“I ran into someone with that surname but I can’t remember where I heard it.” I said smoothly. Her gaze narrowed at me, trying to read through me, before she finally said.

“The Orlov family is one of the deadliest families in the country. They have connections deep in both the business and underground…” She explained.

“Is it a Mafia family?” I whispered. She shook her head…

“If only it were that simple. They are into weapon manufacturing and sell both to the government and the underworld, making them untouchable….”. Her face then turned grim

“No matter what, never offend someone from that family,” Genny warned, her grip tightening on my shoulders.

“Their influence rivals the Volkovs and they don’t mind bloodshed.”

My stomach tightened. What if Killian Orlov was from that deadly family? Although the Volkovs and the Orlovs operated in different circles they didn’t seem to be fond of each other

Were they Rivals? If so it made sense if Killian Orlov was from that family. There was probably a deep-rooted hatred between them, making him the perfect tool.

But the problem was I didn’t know how to contact him…

Something wet touched my ears, followed by a sharp pain at the top of my earlobes. My eyes immediately snapped at the culprit who just bit my ear. My face turned red from both embarrassment and anger

“I kept on calling your name but you spaced out. I had two options, either that or a kiss, and the earlier one seemed like a safer option, although the latter was more enticing.” He explained with batting an eye, but my brows were twitching.

I drew in a deep breath to stop myself from imagining if I was snapped from my daze by a hot kiss. I walked towards the kitchen island, then took a seat on the long stool before picking out a doughnut.

Lucien took a seat beside me, “You don’t have to be so grumpy. I didn’t even kiss to show how much I respect you….” Fucking hypocrite

I shot him a glare, and he was too thick-skinned to be affected by it. “What happened to tapping me like a normal person would do?” I questioned him.

He blinked, then said with a straight gun. “I thought we both agreed on the fact that I wasn’t normally, and that’s my biggest charm,” this narcissist said before his signature smirk graced his lips.

“A normal person won’t use a loaded gun,” panic surged in me, and I quickly closed his mouth. My eyes widened in disbelief.

I didn’t know if what made me more flustered was the fact that he wanted to say out loud he fucked me with a gun, or the fact that the gun was freaking loaded….

I was terrified beyond words. I nervously made sure no one was close, “The gun was loaded…”I blurted and he slowly nodded the gun.

“Why the hell would you do that?” Fear twisted in my stomach. He was truly deranged.

“The project requires that I take a trip. I was hoping you would come with me as an associate and also because I have no idea what I am doing…” He explained. I nodded understanding the terms of the work

“It will be nice to have a breath of fresh air. Imagine it, a trip just the two of us.” He added, I glanced at him

“Are we going on the trip to work or to have a lover getaway?” I hissed at his ambiguous meaning

He grinned. “It can be both.” I don’t know between Lucien and Raphael is more shameless

“You are unbelievable .”

“Just think about it. There is still some time to consider.” I didn’t reply to him and quickly got straight into business to explain what I could.

I had a serious face breaking down the terms but it seemed like he was either dumb or acting dumb

“The client looks difficult..” I felt a headache coming. I cussed my horny self for putting myself into this mess

“Do you know you have kissable lips?” Lucien said out of nowhere leaving me baffled.

“Are you even listening to me?” I snapped, gulping down the rest of my Coke. The box of doughnuts was almost finished.

He shook his head. “How can? When I can’t stop staring at those lips smeared with cream begging to be kissed…”

“What? I am being sincere.” I knew he was not lying because the entire time his gaze was on me instead of the screen. He wasn’t dumb but probably not interested in the project in the first place.

“Can you stare at the screen and not me? If you aren’t paying attention I will stop the lesson.” I threatened. He smirked, his gaze dropping down to my cleavage.

“Why?” He drew my stool closer. “Don’t tell me you can’t stand a man looking at you with desire. I truly should have gotten better clothes but I really wanted to see what you would look like in that skirt…” His tone dropped as he ran his hand over my exposed thighs because the short skirt had shifted.

I swallowed, trying to adjust my sitting position and stop myself from being distracted. “I really dug a grave for me.”

I released a shaky breath. “Is sex the only thing you ever think of?” I couldn’t help but ask.

“I barely think of sex since only a few people can entice me, and you, my dear viper, have that privilege…I think I am cursed cause the only thing my mind thinks about when I am with you is things I would rather not say.” ..

My stomach warmed and I pressed my legs together. My breath became ragged. He always had a way to make any mundane thing exciting
