Chapter 49: Stalker

Braelyn’s POV

My heart started to race. Was he really here or was he pulling my leg? Where was he hiding and how long had he been watching me?

Questions raced through my mind

The model’s presence drew close, distracting me for a moment. My mind was still in chaos more interested in the messages on my phone

Lynn: You are just bluffing.

I tried to taunt him

Unknown: Am I?

I could already imagine the smirk on his face when he sent this message.

Lynn: Who knows?

Unknown: Are you going to shoo them or not?

He seemed rather displeased with me hanging out with the models. There was this strange fuzzy feeling in my heart.

Lynn: What if I don’t? You can’t do anything because I am a free woman. I can play with whatever toy I want and who knows where tonight will end. They are rather young and full of vitality

“So tell me, Braelyn,” Adrian said, nibbling my ears. My head whipped towards him, stunned by the sudden closeness. He lowered his voice.

“Is it your boyfriend?” He asked moving closer, his hand resting on my thighs. I tried to move away but Lucas was already at my back his hand wrapped around my waist as he whispered in a voice carrying a hint of jealousy

“Did you come here trying to spite him? We were instructed to make you forget everything. You can’t be thinking of someone else when you have someone as handsome as us beside you.” He whispered into my ear.

I shook my head, this was bloody Genny’s fault, but I wasn’t forced to come here either. But yet I couldn’t help cussing her.

“I don’t have a boyfriend stop thinking ahead of yourself and your closeness is making me uncomfortable ” I stated with a firm tone

Lucas chuckled next to my ear before he moved away, the same as Adrian. “Your wish is our command then.” He gave a surrender pose.

My phone lit up again

Unknown: You don’t have a boyfriend. Someone forgot about the fake lover she begged to let her use him or are you referring to the jerk you are married to?

My stomach churned. It felt like he was evading my privacy.

Lynn: Who are you exactly? Lucien isn’t the type to act jealous over a relationship that hasn’t been defined. Remember it is fake…I am free

My screen lit up with a reply immediately.

Unknown: Let’s say I am someone whose night, which was already bad, just got more ruined because of two models who are playing good boy and bad boy. I wonder which one screams like a woman when their bones are crushed

My stomach dropped. He seemed really terrifying.

Another text lit up my screen again

Unknown: Adrian or Lucas?

I could feel the hair on my skin crawl. I was indeed being watched.

“Why does someone like you look so out of place here? You should be having fun if you don’t have a boyfriend ?” Adrian’s voice snapped me out of my thoughts.

I forced a smile. “Maybe I don’t need one.” I shrugged.

Unknown: Oh really?

My lips twitched. How was he hearing my reply? Our table was soundproof and there was no sign of Lucien

My screen lit again.

Unknown: Who are you looking for? Nothing is interesting around.

I drew in a deep breath. He was just playing with me. Don’t take it seriously. After calming my nerves I replied.

Lynn: Stop playing around. If you have something to say, be direct and stop hiding.

He didn’t reply immediately. A large hand covered the phone screen. “It’s annoying to be ignored.” Lucas sighed dramatically. My eyes darted between the seasoned actors sitting by my side.

Adrian took a sip of his drink before he added, “Everyone needs someone,” his thumb brushing against my wrist. Lucus snatched my phone from my hand.

I reached out to take it from him and ended up losing balance. We both fell on the long chair with Lucas underneath me. His eyes turned innocent. “I don’t mind being taken advantage of by you ” he teased

I wouldn’t lie to say my heart didn’t skip a beat. I grabbed my phone from him and quickly changed our position. Lucas and Adrian immediately burst out laughing.

I threw them a sharp glare before glancing at my phone. Another message had been sent

Unknown: I enjoy playing with you, your expression is cute and besides there is nothing to hide aside from my urge to kill that Lucas.. (knives emoji)

It was a threat but I found it hilarious. Completely ignoring the models I replied to him

Lynn: (laughing emoji) You wouldn’t do that. By the way, what were you up to earlier this afternoon…you seemed different.

I brought up the restaurant incident trying to confirm if it was truly Lucien or by a slim chance a look-alike

Unknown: Why are you interested? Were you hoping to see me?

Lynn: You wish (rolling eyes emoji). Enough of this chat, I came here to have fun. Bye.

I replied then left the app. A hand crept up my thigh, and my eyes met with Adrian’s

The air felt thick. My heart beat faster, not out of excitement but unease. Still, I smiled, because it was easier to pretend I didn’t notice how his hand lingered, easier to play along than make a scene.

Somewhere across the room, Genny’s laugh grew louder. She was a free spirit unlike me. I wished, just for a moment, that I could borrow even a fraction of her ease.

“I find it hard to believe you are actually enjoying tonight,” Adrian stated. I arched a brow at him trying to hide the discomfort I felt

“How can you say that I am not having fun?” I taunted. Lucas chuckled from the other side. Adrian moved closer holding a fresh glass.

“Then prove it,” he said, sliding the glass of champagne closer. “One drink. You’ll feel better.”

I hesitated, staring at the bubbling liquid. “I’m not really in the mood.”

“Then what’s stopping you?” he pressed, his tone lowering just enough to make me uneasy. “Afraid you’ll loosen up too much?”

Before I could answer, a hand appeared out of nowhere, long fingers wrapping around the glass, snatching it right out of the model’s hand.

The suddenness made me jump.

“Hey..” the model started, but stopped the moment his gaze landed on the man now standing beside our booth.

My breath hitched.

“Lucien” I gasped. My screen lit once more.

Unknown: You badly want to see.

A familiar voice then rang with a hint of mockery

“You seem to be having fun here,” he said calmly, like it was nothing, but the look in his eyes said otherwise.

Then his eyes found mine. “You don’t mind if I join your table, do you, Lynn?”

Before I could reply Genny gasped. “Joey, what are you doing here?” I stared back at Joey, whose gaze had the models frozen.
