Chapter 46: Troublesome bestie

Braelyn’s POV

After having a tug of war in my mind on whether I should wear the dresses or not. My curiosity won the battle I ended up trying them on and to my shock, they didn’t look as bad as I thought

But even if I got them, what was I going to use them for? I stepped out of the dressing room after the fitting, and to my greatest surprise, my not-so-reliable best friend had disappeared from the waiting area.

“Please do you know where the lady I came with went to?” I asked the salesgirl who was waiting for me.

“She left a moment ago but I think she might still be in the store.” The salesgirl immediately replied to my question before adding

“Should I wrap up the dresses from earlier?” She asked, and after a brief deliberation, I decided to get them. They were cute who knows maybe the use will come one day

“Wrap them up,” I answered. My mind was already wandering on where to start my search. This store was too large to start with not to mention the tall racks of clothes

“I will get right on it immediately.” She chimed before leaving. I immediately started searching for Genevieve blindly in the store. It normally should not be too hard to find her but for an unknown reason, she wasn’t replying to my text or answering my calls

I was getting a bit nervous but didn’t want to overthink it. If after searching different sessions and I didn’t find her…the next course of action would be to check the security cameras but I didn’t want it to come to that

My ears perked up as I was going from the bag session, some ladies were whispering something rather interesting. “I can’t believe how cute he was.” One chimed trying to keep her voice down.

I didn’t want to think much of it until I heard the next person reply. “He kept on blushing after the lady forced him to the lingerie session. That’s so…” My eyes twitched. Why did it feel like something Genny would do?

My legs were already rushing to the lingerie session before I knew it. I prayed it wasn’t Genny, and my guts were wrong, but boy, who was I kidding?

From a distance, I could hear my best friend’s chirpy voice excitedly pointing out different scandalous lingerie. If that wasn’t bad enough, my feet came to a screeching halt when I saw the full scene

The ’ cute’ guy in person was oddly familiar. That familiar blonde hair, only that he didn’t have the grin I remember instead that poor guy was awkwardly rubbing the back of his head

“What do you think of this?” She asked him presenting a peach-colored lingerie. I was dumbfounded at how liberal minded my friend was.

“I am not sure what to say,” Joey awkwardly said. Yes, that person Genny was tormenting was Lucien’s old friend Joey, whom I met at the race club.

Genny pouted her lips, “You are a guy, you should choose which is more sexy.” She grumbled

“If you are not helpful. I might not help you find the present you need.” She added it like a threat, which seemed to work on Joey. They were still oblivious to my presence.

He added with a voice that was barely above a whisper. “Lingerie is pretty sexy, but if you can’t choose one, I am certain any straight guy would still appreciate you with nothing on…” He added and I almost choked on my spit

Although Genny was pretty tall when standing next to Joey, she still felt small compared with his height. I started to see why girls prefer tall guys.

Genny smirked and a faint blush formed on her cheeks. “I am not getting it for myself..” she blurted before her eyes shifted over his shoulders and fell on my face

“Lynn..” she excitedly called waving at me. Joey followed the direction of her gaze, glancing towards me. His eyes widened in disbelief before a smile settled on his lips

“Sis in law.” He teasingly said. Genny was confused as she grabbed my hand, glancing between both of us.

“Do you know him?” She blurted then her gaze settled on Joey.

“I never knew you were friends with Ra…” I don’t let her finish her words. My hands clamped over her mouth, then I shot her a warning glare before turning to Joey.

“It’s fancy seeing you here.” I chimed. He nodded, still keeping a polite smile.

“I came to pick a birthday gift for a friend…” He explained, Genny’s arm was hooked with mine. She excitedly added.

“I needed his opinion on something since he is a guy…” Without her explaining the rest of the details. I kind of understood the story.

Joey probably asked Genny for help first and she took advantage of the opportunity. “By the way, Lynn, which one do you think is hotter?” She pulled me forward.

What did this single soul need lingerie for? My thoughts ran amok trying to figure her out. The lacy undies were as scandalous as you can imagine. Genny didn’t seem to be bothered by that

She shoved a blue one at me. Her gaze flickered to Joey. “What do you think of this one on her?” She asked him. My face turned Scarlet.

“What are you doing?” I grumbled to her in a low tone. She smirked at me. “Don’t worry I know what I am doing.”

Joey was in deep thought before he finally replied. “I think Lucien would love the blue one ” That was a piece of information I didn’t need.

“Lucien…” Genny was once more lost. Her gaze turned questioning. Luckily the sales girl came to my rescue at the nick of time.

“Your clothes have already been bagged.” She explained. I used the opportunity to break out of Genny’s hold.

“I will handle the payment soon..” I replied before glancing at Joey. “How about the gift you wanted to get?” I asked him before pulling him by the hand.

“Please let’s leave,” I begged him. We had to flee now before Genny did something crazier.

Joey was stunned by the sudden proximity. A camera shuttered, and my head whipped with Genny, who had a silly grin.

“You really look cute today.” She chimed then gave me the look I perfectly understood.

“A match made in heaven.” She chimed. Before turning the screen to us. She just posted the image of Joey and me

We looked pretty close in the picture.

Of course, she’d post it. Because chaos was her love language.
