Chapter 372: The dedicated villainess

Lucien’s POV

“Long time no see Amelia. ” I chimed revealing my face to Amelia. Her reaction was worth it. I was here to settle scores.

Amelia’s face turned pale the moment I pulled down the mask. The colour drained from her skin so fast it almost amused me. Her fingers tightened around the sheets as if they were the only thing anchoring her to reality, her eyes darting around the room like a trapped animal searching for an exit that no longer existed.

“What are you doing here, Lucien?” she asked, her voice trembling despite her effort to sound composed. The fear in her eyes was raw and unfiltered but every second of it was completely satisfying.

A slow smirk tugged at my lips as I stepped fully into the room and shut the door behind me. The soft click of the lock echoed louder than it should have. The room felt heavy with tension, Amelia shifted under my pinning gaze.

“I heard I was the one who caused this,” I said casually, gesturing toward her bruised body. It was a shame i didn’t see her the first day she was admitted. 2 weeks have passed and she was still in the hospital.

“I just came to make sure my men did a proper job. Although I must say, they did a terrible one. If it were me, there wouldn’t be a body to talk, let alone breathe.” I said. My tone was dripping with condescension.

Amelia was fierce but in the presence of a bigger predator she shrank. My gaze hardened as I looked at her, and her body visibly trembled under it.

“What do you want?” she snapped, forcing a bit of defiance into her tone. “You can’t harm me here. There are cameras. I would scream.”

I let out a low chuckle, tilting my head slightly as I watched her. How cute, she really thought anyone could save her. A little cornered fox before a wolf.

“Go ahead,” I said softly. “Scream as loud as you want. Let’s see if anyone comes.” I urged.

For a brief moment, hesitation flickered across her face, but panic quickly overtook it. She opened her mouth and screamed, loudly and frantic, her voice breaking as she called for help. “Someone help!!! A dangerous man is here.” I closed my ears to block her shrill scream. Her voice was irritating.

The room remained silent. One second

Two seconds

Three

Four.

There was no footsteps approaching to rescue her, no nurse rushed in nor did any alarm ring. Just silence, drop dead silence I could hear the clock ticking down the hallway.

Her screams slowly died down, replaced by uneven breathing as dread crept into her expression. Her gaze shifted toward the corners of the room, toward where the cameras should have been watching.

I dropped my hands tucking it in the lab coat then tilted my head with a mocking stare. “Are you done?” I asked sweetly deliberately getting on her nerves.

“What did you do?” she whispered, her voice shaking. “This room has cameras…” she gritted her teeth slowly registering her situation.

I smiled faintly, stepping closer. I clicked my tongue in irritation but I was enjoying every slow second of this torment.

“Stop the pitiful act,” I said. “But I must say, you had guts. Getting people to fake an Orlov connection just to frame me. That takes effort and guts. You weren’t even scared I would find out. Do you have no idea what happens to stupid people like you?” I said genuinely amazed by her guts. Kirill was beyond pissed when he found out someone was impersonating his men.

He immediately contacted his younger brother the actual chairman of the orlov group to obliterate the Sinclair family. Mr Sinclair is declaring bankruptcy tomorrow from what he heard. Amelia of course have no idea she fired the last bullet that destroys her family

Amelia’a face stiffened, but she tried to recover quickly. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” she said, though her voice lacked conviction. It was pointing denying but I loved this game. Two can play.

I didn’t respond immediately. Instead, I pulled out my phone and tapped the screen. The sound filled the room instantly, there were sickening sounds that made even Lucien’s stomach churn, a chaotic mix if readful cries and painful groans. The dull, sickening sound of blows landing against flesh.

It was her own voice. Her eyes widened in horror as she recognised it. She was being beaten to a pulp by a group of men who showed no mercy because they weren’t told to

The video played clearly, every second captured. The way she struggled, the way she screamed. It looked real. Convincing enough to deceive anyone who didn’t look deeper.

“Are you still going to pretend?” I asked calmly. “You really think I wouldn’t find out?” even Lucien was amazed by Amelia’s psychotic tendencies. She went through this hell just for her to reach a goal.

She was still being stubborn. I swiped to the next clip. The same men from the earlier video now hung by their arms, restrained with their bodies bruised and broken. Their faces were clearly visible, stripped of any anonymity. They were to goons Amelia hired for her act. Kirill made sure they were taken care of

“These men are not associated with the Orlovs,” I said, my tone flat. “The tattoo they used was fake temporary. Poorly done too.” Lucien’s clicked his tongue then glanced at her. A satisfied grin crossed his lips seeing a satisfactory reaction.

Her lips parted, but no words came out. Her body trembled uncontrollably now.

“I always knew you weren’t pregnant, Raphael birth control worked perfectly.” I continued, watching her reaction carefully.

Her expression twisted, anger flickering through her fear. “You’re lying,” she snapped.

I let out a quiet laugh.

“Am I?” I said. “I have some knowledge of native medicine. I can read a pulse. That night during the charade, yours was weak. Not the pulse of a pregnant woman. The pulse of someone who has been taking drugs.”
