Chapter 147: Shattered Grudges

As Drokan said those words, his eyes closed and he fell onto the ground.

Rion looked at him with a calm gaze and mumbled, “Using all of the aura for a single attack must’ve been draining for him.”

Normally, Aura was hard to control because it was will given physical form through the help of soul energy. Even if the will belonged to the person, it tried to be free from any control, which was why using it was mentally draining.

Rion didn’t face those problems for two reasons.

First, he didn’t feel tired unless the task was beyond his body’s current strength, which would increase instantly, due to his adaptability.

Second, his bloodline forced his aura to submit to him.

’My bloodline became stronger after I saw that humanoid monster for some reason…’ Rion wondered why and how such a thing was possible, but he didn’t have much time for the thoughts.

He shook his head, clenched his fist and mumbled, “I need to build a state of absolute if I want to learn my bloodline ability.”

During his fight against Drokan and Zoka, he had managed to have a glimpse at his bloodline ability, and it was something he had never expected.

“An ability to do anything you believe to be possible…” he whispered; it sounded like some humourless joke, and that was his hindrance.

His own logical thinking would stop him from achieving the state of absolute (I am above all), as unknowingly or knowingly he had put limitations on himself, and he couldn’t just think of being able to do anything; he had to believe it with the whole of his being.

He took a deep breath and exhaled slowly.

“How did they manage to burn the inside of the ground while leaving the top of it intact?” Rion wondered with a chuckle.

His sandals scraped the scorched land as he walked over to Drokan and picked him up on his shoulder.

“Lightweight,” he whispered.

Bent down, aura moved towards his legs, and he jumped out of the hole.

All of the remaining group leaders, Marin, Valak, Arok and Zaelyane watched him land leisurely and make his way towards them with a soft smile on his face.

They blinked a few times at how nonchalant he was being, and Valak muttered in disbelief, “I can’t believe he has become so strong at such a young age…”

The images of Rion’s younger days replayed themselves in his head, and Marin commented, “Indeed, who would’ve thought that he would become something like this eleven years later?”

Valak nodded, remembering Rion’s ritual of youth and mumbled, “I still don’t understand how he was able to learn of so many herbs during his infant years.”

Marin smiled at him, his eyes drifted towards the mountains to the right, and he said, “You must work hard for your group leader.”

On the mountains to the right of the clearing, Rion’s squad leaders sat in a daze.

“What was that…?” Karhun mumbled in disbelief, still reeling from seeing Rion defeat four group leaders within thirty minutes.

Tarun was the same, but he was also fired up to train more.

“I should learn Rheak’s aura technique,” Yuura mumbled with a thoughtful look that surprised everyone.

Yuura wasn’t supposed to do that.

He was supposed to fawn all over Rion’s achievement as if he had seen some kind of myth play before his eyes.

All of them suddenly thought that maybe Yuura had changed, maybe they would no longer have to hear about how great and strong Rion was over and over again, but his next words crumbled their fleeting hope.

“Then I would be able to stay with him all the time by hiding myself.”

Dora rolled her eyes and grumbled under her breath, “I should be the one to stay with him all the time.”

Zukah looked at them with a puzzled yet baffled expression, and he commented inwardly, ’That’s not the point though…’

All of them made various comments about what they had seen, but three of them stood silent.

These three were Moria, Armin and Waron — the ones who believed Rion to be unworthy of ruling them.

Waron turned around and muttered in a low voice, “I’ll apologise directly to him.”

The others ignored all three of them as if they were some kind of plague and continued their chat about further embellishing Rion’s deeds.

Moria looked at Armin and spoke in his usual thin voice, “What do you think?”

Armin looked at him with a dark expression, and he muttered, “What just happened?”

Moria shook his head and mumbled, “He still hasn’t digested what he just saw…”

He turned around and said, “I am going to ask for his forgiveness tomorrow.”

Armin watched Moria leave, and suddenly Zukah spoke to him, “Let go of this stubbornness. I know that you cared deeply for Tarek, but Rion has nothing to do with his death…”

Armin lowered his head, bit his lips and whispered, “You don’t know everything… Tarek wasn’t reckless, he wouldn’t have died from something like this…”

Zukah shook his head, placed a hand on his shoulder and said, “What could he even do about the Ruler of Purple taking over him?”

Armin didn’t say anything; his eyes drifted towards Rion, and he asked, “What if he doesn’t accept my apology?”

“Then apologise again,” Dora commented, eyes fixed on Rion.

“If that isn’t enough, then apologise again and again until he gets annoyed and has no choice but to accept you.”

Baffled, Armin blinked a few times, and Dora asked with a beautiful smile stretching across her face, “How else are you going to show your sincerity?”

Armin let out a low, reluctant sigh and said, “I could become someone useful for him—”

“What would he even use you for? Look at him again and tell me if he looks like someone who needs help from us,” Dora stated with a dry chuckle.
