Rion’s smile widened even further, and he announced, “It is a kingdom of godbloods… our kingdom.”

Alger frowned and mumbled, “Kingdom? Were the mountaineers not part of a tribe?”

A faint smile appeared on his face, and he continued, “Because my father was not worthy to know of them, he could not read the records, but he knew that they were important, so he stored them for anyone who could read them…”

“And by some strange coincidence, that turned out to be you,” Rion finished his words for him.

Alger nodded and said the thing that was weighing him, “You are staying in my town to learn about the outside, aren’t you?”

“I am,” Rion answered without hiding anything.

Alger let out a sigh and mumbled in a dejected voice, “Are more of you going to come down?”

Hearing him, Rion let out a chuckle and said, “I cannot be sure, but the chances for anyone else to come down are extremely low.”

Placing a hand on his heart, Alger breathed a sigh of relief and said, “That is great…”

Rion watched him with an amused expression and commented, “Are you not scared of me?”

Alger turned his head towards Rion and muttered with a chuckle, “Scared? Why would I be scared of someone who is still in their early twenties?”

“Hahaha!” Rion burst out laughing.

He grabbed his stomach and said, “You are really funny, count Barely.”

Alger frowned. He narrowed his eyes and said in a low voice, “What do you mean?”

Rion grinned widely as he pointed at the keyhole under the actual keyhole of the table’s cabinet and said, “Why would you twist the key that alerts the silver lion knight captain if you aren’t scared?”

Alger’s face instantly went pale, his lips trembled as he muttered while keeping his best to stay calm, “I s-simply called my most loyal retainer to build ties with Pantheon…”

Hearing his reasoning, Rion let a baffled chuckle and said, “I’ve only known you for a day, and I am certain that you aren’t the kind of man to consult your retainers while making decisions that can change the very course of the town’s future.”

“Retainers exist to assist me in making such decisions,” Alger said calmly as beads of sweat rolled down his face.

Rion nodded, “True, but I already know what kind of man you are… You are a just lord who thinks that giving power to anyone other than yourself would cause the system to falter, and because of that, you would never give power to anyone, not even your most loyal retainer…”

Rion turned his head to the left, and the captain of Silver Lion Knights fell into his vision.

As the knight captain was wearing heavy armour, he couldn’t make out how they looked and thus couldn’t be certain if they were a man or a woman.

“So you are the superhuman of Barleyhen,” Rion stated with a leisurely smile.

The captain didn’t answer; instead, they pointed their sword at him and channelled their dark red aura into it.

The sword cried in joy, and they stepped forward to crush the person who had dared to trouble the count.

But before the captain could even take a step.

Rion appeared beside them and whispered in the side of their head, “Aren’t you too slow for a superhuman?”

“When did he?!” Alger mumbled.

Raising a desperate hand towards the captain, he screamed, “Selena! Get away from him!”

Selena instantly jumped away from Rion and appeared between him and Alger.

“A woman, huh…” Rion muttered in amusement.

Selena’s eyes behind the helmet flared in anger. “What if I am a woman?! Are you looking down on a superhuman just because they are of the opposite gender?”

“Calm down, Selena!” Alger shouted desperately.

Before becoming the heir of Barleyhen town, Alger used to be a masked adventurer, and from his ventures, he had learned to differentiate between a prey and a hunter.

He had failed to see it before, but now could see it clearly… this young man before him wasn’t just a hunter… ’He is a demon…’

“My lord…” Selena whispered. Her fingers tightened around the handle of her sword.

On the other hand, Rion was staring at her as if he were staring at a dumb kid.

“Stop staring at me like that! You bastard!” She shouted in fury.

“I am just trying to understand what made you think that being a woman makes you special?” Rion answered with a tilted head.

Baffled by the strange question, she muttered, “What?”

“You know my mentor was a woman, and she is seriously strong… why would I specially look down on women?”

He shook his head and continued, “If I want to look down on people, then I will look down on everyone.”

The room fell silent, and Rion added in his head, ’Everyone except my parents…’
