Chapter 204: Confronting The Shaman

“Trust me, this is to help you,” Rion insisted.

“Mhm,” Dora nodded, the tears gathered at the edge of her eyes made her look even more feeble than she was and seeing that, Rion had to bite his lip just to keep his mind focused on stabilising her with his aura.

However, because he was constantly using half of his aura for the revolving aura ring, he couldn’t just mindlessly channel his aura into her.

Taking a deep breath, he slowly moved a tiny aura flame the size of a fingernail into her, and following it, he channelled more of his aura, increasing the amount with each passing moment.

“Ugh!” Dora groaned as his aura entered her body, and Rion displayed a smile to pull her attention away from any gloomy thoughts.

Seeing him smile, Dora also forced a smile, but because of the current state of her body, whenever Rion moved his aura inside her body, she felt as if a blade was being ground against her body.

Rion slowly forced more of his aura into her.

The aura moved past the sticky webs of the curse and thin purple threads of The Remnant’s sorcery and made its way towards her heart, where her life and aura flames were.

A few moments later, his aura reached her heart, and just as it touched it, Dora screamed and began to thrash her arms around.

Rion grabbed both of her arms with his left hand and locked them above her head.

She groaned, tears threatening at the edge of her eyes, and Zaelyane mumbled, “Do not try to remove whatever you see, just block it from reaching her heart.”

He nodded, and similar to his aura ring, he created a thinner ring around Dora’s heart because her heart was much weaker than his Demonic Heart, it couldn’t handle as much aura as his, that too an aura of a realm above hers.

Because of the thin layer he had just made, the curse was slightly delayed, and Dora’s heart now had enough time to generate more than enough aura to keep the symbol stable.

Even though she couldn’t use as much aura as before, now she wouldn’t be entirely hopeless in a dangerous situation.

Once she was stable, Rion mumbled, “You can open your eyes.”

Dora, who could already feel the changes inside her, slowly opened her eyes, and Rion’s smiling face came into her vision.

She continued to stare into his eyes for a few moments before a groan escaped her lips.

“What’s wrong?!” Rion asked instantly, worry flashing across his face.

Dora shifted her eyes towards Rion’s right hand, which was on her chest and said weakly, “Don’t grab so tightly…” her ears red.

Rion scratched his cheek with his left hand and whispered, “Sorry…”

Dora smiled, her eyes still locked onto his right hand.

He chuckled, finally let go of her breast and climbed off her.

Just as he did so, Dora closed her eyes and once again fell asleep.

He turned his head towards Zaelyane, and she commented, “She was already weak from lying on the bed for days, and everything that just happened must’ve been tiring… She’ll wake up tomorrow.”

Rion nodded, planted a kiss onto Dora’s forehead and mumbled in her ear, “Don’t worry about anything, I’ll never let you go.”

A warm smile tugged at his lips as he watched her sleep peacefully.

Turning around, he walked towards the door, and just as he stepped outside, his smile vanished, and a cruel glint passed through his eyes.

Golden flames blazed around him. He took a step forward, and the next moment, he was before another hut.

This was the hut of Granny Nena, the Shaman.

He knocked on the door and called out, “Nena.”

Sounds of creaking wood resounded from the inside, and just a minute later, Granny Nena opened the door.

“Little Rio?” She called out with a faint smile.

Rion didn’t reply, stepping inside the hut, he began to look around.

Granny Nena frowned at his unexpected behaviour, but before she could even say a word, Rion asked without looking at her, “Why did you lie to her?”

Granny Nena’s eyes trembled in shock, her grip loosened on her cane, and she mumbled, “W-What do you mean?”

He slowly turned towards her, a calm smile that didn’t reach his eyes stretched across his face, and he repeated, “Why did you lie to her?”

Granny Nena fell silent, and Rion just continued to stare at her with a calm smile.

A few moments passed in silence. She sighed and rasped, “It was for her own good!”

Shaking his head, Rion commented, “No, you know it wasn’t.”

Granny Nena stared into his eyes, searching for hope that maybe he wouldn’t make her say it, but hope was the last thing she could find in them.

“That event had made her the perfect woman for any godblood because by hearing the prophecy, her talent, fertility, mind, beauty — everything was enhanced tenfold,” she mumbled, her withered lips stretching into a rather eerie grin.

A disappointed glint flickered in her eyes, and she continued, “But alas, she was to die with the prophecy and that too before the age at which she could actually sire a child…”

Rion clenched his fist behind his back, and she continued, “So I lied, I gave her the hope she needed to push for a life filled with love, of children… but she failed.”

Her eyes turned furious, and she spat, “Are you even a man?!” Struck the ground with her cane. “What kind of man runs away from such beauty?!”

Taking a deep breath, Rion tried to push his anger away.

He looked into Granny Nena’s eyes and stated in a chillingly sharp voice, “From this day, you are not allowed to hold any prophetic ritual without my knowledge.”

Granny Nena chuckled and stated with a prideful smile, “Who are you to not allow me? My words hold more power than the Sovereign himself.”

Rion shook his head and explained, “You seem to have misunderstood something.”

Stepping closer, he said, “I am not commanding you as the high commander…”

Granny Nena tilted her head in confusion, and all of a sudden, her eyes widened in horror.

She staggered back, fell on the ground and stammered while pointing her cane at Rion’s chest, “P-Purple?!”

Rion nodded. Brushing his chest, he stated, “I am ordering you as the current Ruler of Purple.”

Hearing those words, a shiver ran down Granny Nena’s spine and her eyes rolled back.
