Bael furrowed his brows and ignored them.

Bael turned his head towards the guy who had said that and said, “I’d still do more than what that torn hat is doing at hiding your bald head.”

That person’s face turned red, veins bulged across his smooth, bald head, and the crowd burst into laughter.

“Silence!” A sharp voice cut through the chatter and laughter, and a few mumbled under their breath, “Sir Hector…”

A lean knight with fiery red hair and eyes walked towards Bael and said, “Are you here to get recruited or to cause trouble?”

Bael looked around himself, his lips curled upwards, and he asked, “Are you an adventurer?”

The place fell silent, and Hector muttered while frowning, “Can’t you see I am wearing a knight’s armor?”

Bael chuckled.

“Ah! I thought you were playing, like how children do with clothes that reflect what they wish to be. Otherwise, why would a knight knowingly take the side of the attacker instead of the victim?”

He shook his head and added while looking straight into his eyes, “That’s probably something a corrupt person would do, though.”
