Chapter 76: Tiny Hands

Kael stared up at Ren with glowing red eyes. The tension was thick enough to cut with a knife.

Then, a low, rumbling growl started deep in his chest.

Ren braced herself for an attack. She squeezed her eyes shut, preparing to be bitten or struck.

“Grrrrr… snrrrk.”

But then, the growl turned into a small whine. Kael’s eyes rolled back into his head, and his massive frame went limp.

The Tiger King collapsed forward, landing directly on top of Ren.

“Oof!”

Ren let out a wheeze as all the air left her lungs. She hit the floor hard, pinned beneath two hundred-plus pounds of pure, solid muscle.

Syris looked at the scene with distaste. The thought of sharing his mate with this drooling feline—was irritating beyond belief.

“I cannot move him,” Syris admitted, dropping Kael’s arm, which immediately flopped back onto Ren.

“I… can’t… breathe…” Ren squeaked, her face turning blue.

“The ears!” Viper suggested, hovering anxiously nearby. “Maybe if we scratch them, he will let go?”

“Do it!” Ren wheezed.

“I refuse,” Syris crossed his arms. “I did it once.”

“I will do it!” Viper volunteered.

He crouched down and began vigorously scratching behind Kael’s twitching white ears.

Viper withdrew his hand, looking confused. Without the scratches, Kael let out a huff. He rolled over, sliding off Ren’s crushed body and flopping onto his back on the cold stone floor.

“Oh, thank god,” Ren gasped, sucking in a lungful of dungeon air. She sat up, massaging her crushed ribs. “I thought I was going to be a pancake.”

She looked over at Kael.

“Oh my god!”

She slapped her hands over her eyes instantly.

Kael was sprawled on his back, legs spread comfortably. And there, standing at a proud, unwavering 90-degree angle due north, was his… glory.

“She is strange,” Syris muttered to himself.

He waved a hand at Viper. “Viper. Cover the Tiger King’s…dignity. Ren is distressed.”

“Yes, My King!”

Viper hurried over to the sleeping tiger. He looked at the massive erection. He looked at his own hands.

He reached out, positioning his palms over Kael’s groin, hovering just inches away as if trying to shield it from view.

“My King…” Viper reported, his voice heavy with worry. “I have a problem. My hands… they are too small. I cannot hide it all. If I hold it here, the top shows. If I hold the top, the bottom shows.”

Ren let her imagination run wild.

She pictured Viper trying to cup and hide Kael’s junk with his bare hands like he was protecting a candle from the wind.

Steam literally shot out of Ren’s ears. Her brain melted.

“DO NOT TOUCH IT!” Ren roared, her face so red she looked like a tomato. “Use clothes! Use fabric! Anything else but your hands!”

Viper snatched his hands back. “Understood! No touching!”

Syris sighed, the sound echoing in the cell. “Very well.”

He untied the sash of his black robe, shrugging the silk off his shoulders. The robe pooled at his feet.

Syris, now completely naked, walked over to Kael. He was annoyed that he had to give up his clothes for a mammal, but he did it to please Ren. He tossed the black robe over Kael’s midsection.

It landed like a tent, propped up high by the tent-pole beneath it.

“There,” Syris announced. “The beast is covered. You may look.”

Ren hesitated. “Is it safe?”

“It is covered,” Syris promised.

Ren slowly peeled her hands away from her face.

“Oh, thank goo—”

Her words died.

Yes, Kael was covered. But standing right in front of her, looking imperious and bored, was Syris.

He was naked. Completely.

And while he wasn’t currently in a state of high arousal like Kael, his “Twin Swords” were hanging there—flaccid, heavy, and impressive. There were two of them. Resting against his thigh like sleeping dragons.

The sheer amount of male in the room was too much.

Ren’s eyes rolled back in her head.

She fainted dead away.

“Ren?” Syris moved instantly.

He scooped her up before she hit the dirty floor, cradling her easily in his arms. He looked at her peaceful, unconscious face and let out a breath of relief when he saw her chest rising and falling rhythmically.

“She is tired,” Syris decided, nodding to himself. “Too much work.”

He turned and began to walk out of the cell, carrying his mate bridal style, completely unbothered by his own nudity.

“My King!” Viper called out from the cell.

Syris paused at the bars. “What?”

Viper pointed a shaky finger at the sleeping, 250-pound Tiger King on the floor.

“What about… him?”

Syris looked at Kael with irritation. “Leave him. He is comfortable.”

He took a step to leave. Then he stopped.

He looked at Ren’s sleeping face. If she woke up and found Kael abandoned in a cold dungeon, she would be upset. And if she was upset, she might not fulfill her promise.

Syris groaned, tilting his head back.

“Fine,” he snapped. “Bring him to the Nest.”

“Me? Alone?” Viper squeaked.

“Figure it out, Viper.”

With that, Syris turned and strode down the hallway, his bare feet silent on the stone, carrying his prize.

Viper stood alone in the dungeon.

He looked down at the Tiger King snoring on the floor.

“How?” Viper whispered to the damp walls, looking miserable. “Do I pull the tail? Do I roll him? If I wake him, will he bite?”

Viper sighed.

“This is too hard.”
