Looking towards the source of the screams, he realized that his boss was the one that was rolling on the ground while screaming.

Despite not understanding what had happened during the time that he was unconscious, he did not hesitate to pick himself off the ground.

Even though he was still experiencing pain from the previous attack from Michael, at least, his condition was not that bad.

As he scrambled to David’s position, he used his hand to grab David, before he used his palm to close David’s mouth.

This way, only some muffled noise came from David’s mouth. And with that, the noise in the underground parking finally disappeared.

Michael looked at David who was continuously struggling against the person that was holding him, while trying to endure the pain, before he walked over.

When Michael began approaching, both David and the person holding him down felt tense.

“You better not try playing any tricks for the next few days. Otherwise, I can’t promise that I will not slap that head off your neck.” Michael said while gazing directly into David’s eyes.

Within David’s eyes was nothing else but fear. At this moment, he was so much afraid of Michael.

It was to the extent that he was trying to suppress his own screams, to avoid making Michael do something else.

Michael had the guts to break his leg, implying that he could do more. Additionally, David had realized that this guy’s background was not simple.

Or, there was a possibility that he was ignorant, not knowing how powerful the Kingsley family was. But this possibility was quite low, considering that he was associated with Kate.

Layers of bandages and padding wrapped the knee area, while metal supports kept the limb completely still.

The blankets had been folded back around the leg to avoid adding pressure, exposing the immobilizing frame and the IV lines running into the foot.

The monitors beside the bed beeped steadily, tracking his vitals.

The leg itself was slightly elevated on a cushioned support to reduce swelling, and an ice pack rested over the bandaged knee.

A nurse moved around the room, checking the drip, adjusting the brace, and making sure David remained as comfortable as possible while awaiting further treatment.

At this moment, someone walked in. It was a man with black hair and green eyes, with a muscular build.

He wore a charcoal suit that fit him perfectly, paired with a white shirt and a straight black tie. His polished shoes clicked softly against the tiled floor as he walked in, immediately attracting the attention of David.

“Dad, you are here!” David suddenly exclaimed.
