Chapter 27: Booking a Presidential Suite

At the receptionist’s question, Michael nodded as he said, “Yes, I am sure. And, I’m in a hurry, could you please help me in processing the booking? I would like to book the room for an entire week, including all the meals, from breakfast all the way to dinner.”

The lady immediately regained her composure, realizing that she had slipped in controlling her facial expression.

But even then, her heart was in turmoil. Looking at such a young man, for him to book the most expensive room in the hotel, was he really that rich?

If he was just booking it for a day, then it could be said that maybe he had saved up some money. But, for an entire week, he definitely came from a good background.

It was just that, it seemed that he liked keeping a low profile, considering that the clothes that he was wearing, none of them was a brand name.

As for the shopping bags that he was carrying, they were just ordinary shopping bags that could be bought anywhere on the market.

Regardless, the lady went ahead with her duty. She began typing on the keyboard, before she requested for Michael’s ID.

After handing over the ID card, Michael waited for a little while, before she completed the procedure.

Michael ended up paying a total of $12,830 for his stay at the hotel for a week.

When he was told the price, Michael was quite surprised. But, considering that he was going to live in the presidential suite, the price was obviously going to be higher.

’I think, it is way better to rent a place, rather than staying at a hotel. This is just a waste of money.’ Michael thought to himself while making the payment through mobile transfer.

If he really had another option, he would not have opted for something like this. While he might have over $70,000 in his account at the moment, he could not waste it.

All that money had been acquired after he used an SP. And, to gain a single SP would require him to read for almost an entire day.

But considering the current situation that he was in, he had no any other choice.

He decided to come to such a high-end place, considering the fact that Dante and the others would not imagine that he could afford to stay at such a place.

Additionally, he selected a presidential suite with the intention of covering up, just in case Dante and the others suspected that he might be living at a big hotel.

If they came searching, they might use the connections to acquire the names of those in the other rooms, but most probably, they might not think of a possibility of him staying in a presidential suite.

As for him staying here for only a week, this was just a precaution. He did not want to waste money like how he had done by renting an apartment for a month, and ended up staying only for a week.

He wanted to stay for a week, and if everything was stable, he would continue staying for another week. After that, he would have to move to another hotel.

After the lady was done with everything, she handed him a passkey card as she said, “Your room is on the 18th floor, the room number is on the passkey card.”

Michael nodded as he took the key, then headed straight for the elevator.

He was not the only person who took the elevator, as a few other people were also heading towards the upper floors.

Each and every one of them was neatly dressed, and Michael could even recognize some of the brands of the clothes that they were wearing.

When compared to them, the way that he was dressed could be said to be quite shabby. While the clothes themselves were decent, decent was not enough when compared to brand clothes.

It was for this reason that everyone could not help but look at him. Some people had disdain in their eyes, while others distanced themselves from him.

Michael did not care about the reactions of the people around him, as he waited. Along the way to the top, those people left the elevator, though, they were surprised that Michael was not coming out of the elevator.

Still, none of them spoke to him. Instead, they thought, maybe he had booked a room here at the hotel to show off. If not, there was a possibility that he was here to deliver something, considering the shopping bags that he was carrying.

Several seconds later, Michael arrived on the 18th floor. This floor was quite different as compared to the others along the way up.

The hallway was well lit up, and the floor covered in marble tiles was quite shiny, reflecting the light above.

Michael did not really pay much attention to the few details, as he was in a hurry to get into his room, so that he could continue reading.

Looking at the passkey card, his presidential suite was number 2. So, he headed towards it.

His presidential suite was located in the middle of two others, on the left side of the hallway.

Using the passkey card, Michael entered the presidential suite.

When he got inside, Michael realized that the presidential suite was quite upscale. When compared to the apartment that he was living in before, it was a few levels higher.

This presidential suite had a living room, two bedrooms, a kitchen of its own, a dining area, and a study room.

Michael put his items in the bedroom, considering that most of them were just clothes.

As for the books that he had bought from the library, after realizing that he could use PDFs, why would he want to carry around so many books?

Additionally, the PDFs online did not require him to pay as much as for the books that could be found in the library.

Of course, Michael understood, at the initial levels, he might be able to find the PDFs that contained the information that he wanted.

But as the levels of the skills increased, it might be difficult for him to be able to find enough information online. So, he might have no other choice but to look for those books from the library.

Regardless, after keeping everything where it was needed, Michael continued reading.

The segment about the off-road vehicles was quite large, as not only did he need to know how to drive that particular vehicle, he needed to know how to operate them as well.

And, the operations of an excavator were not the same as that of a tractor. This implied, he had to go through each vehicle one after the other.

Considering the number of vehicles available, it was inevitable that it would take him quite a while to be able to go through all the information.

On the other hand, it was not much of a hassle for Michael. After all, he really did not have to master everything that he was reading. Otherwise, his brain would have exploded by now due to so much information being dumped inside it.

Finally, after about 3 hours, he finally completed the segment on the off-road vehicles. Now, it was time for the special type vehicles.

For those special type vehicles, there was actually not that much as compared to the off road vehicles. After all, for something like a firefighter truck, there was not that much that the driver needed to do.

Considering that he was just learning the basics of driving that vehicle, he really did not have to know how to operate the entire vehicle.

At the end of the day, a firefighter truck always had several firefighters moving along with it in case they needed to deal with a fire incident.

By the time that he was almost done, it was already around 12:30 p.m. At this time, he received a call from the front desk.

The telephone was on a bedside cabinet on the left side of his bed.

Michael, who was still in the bedroom, simply picked the call. It was then that he was informed that his lunch was already prepared.

After allowing the person that was in charge of delivering the food to bring it over, Michael continued reading.

At some point, he heard the sound of someone entering into the room. It was obviously the hotel staff member who was in charge of delivering the food.

The lady seemed to be in her mid twenties, with her black hair tied into a ponytail, wearing a white blouse and a black skirt, standing beside the dining table.

The moment that she saw Michael coming over, she was slightly surprised by his young age. But even then, she bowed slightly and said, “Mr. Santos, I will be the one that will be in charge of your meals during the day.

It has been a few minutes since the food was served. Allow me to take several dishes back for reheating.” The lady spoke in a gentle voice, but did not take any action, waiting for Michael’s affirmation.
