Chapter 53: Killed, Return

Michael continued torturing the group of three with bullets, making them scream.

Within just about 2 minutes, the three of them were sweating bullets. And, none of them tried uttering any harsh words to Michael.

Michael made sure not to shoot them in any vital areas. For that reason, despite them receiving several bullets, neither of them had died.

With his current skills, Michael easily able to drive. So, he drove the car towards the nearest road, which was quite a distance away from the area of the incident.

Along the way, Michael noticed that a few gangsters were still sneaking around. It was clear, while running, they were afraid that they might be caught.

Michael completely ignored them. He drove the car away, and after getting to an area that still had vehicles moving around, he stopped the car on the side of the road.

It had only been about an hour since he went to deal with Dante and the others. So, it was still quite early, 8 p.m.

“I’m taking a taxi back to the orphanage. You can take another taxi back home.” Michael said as he got out of the car.

“Okay.” Kate nodded in response as she also got out of the car.

The two waited on the side of the road for a little while, before the two taxis that they had booked online arrived.

“I guess, let’s see each other if fate allows it.” Before getting into the taxi, Kate said to Michael.

“Okay.” Michael responded simply before getting into the taxi.

After giving the driver the location, the taxi driver began driving. As for Kate, she lingered outside the taxi for a while, watching as the other taxi drove away.

“Hey girl, are we going or not? It is quite late now, and things are going to get more dangerous if we continue delaying.” The taxi driver’s voice suddenly brought Kate back to her senses.

“Oh, sorry.” Kate said as she got into the taxi. She gave the address of her apartment to the driver, before taking out her phone to make a call.

But before making a call, she hesitated. But in the end, she still decided to do it.

“Hey Kate, what is it? Don’t tell me that you want to try asking for more time? I have already told you, you are coming back tomorrow.” Kate’s mom’s voice came from the other end as soon as the call connected.

“That’s not it mom. It is just that, I have created a small mess, and I don’t really have the time to clean it up. Could you help me with that?” Kate responded after a moment of hesitation.

“I promise that I will not do it again.” In order to ease her mother’s worries, Kate could only make a promise.

When she heard Kate promising, her mother seemed to be quite relieved. So, she said, “I hope that you will keep your word. Anyway, give me a detailed report on what happened, so that I know what to do.”

“It is a little inconvenient for me to inform you in detail for now. Give me a few minutes, and I will fill you in on what happened.” Kate responded.

She was currently inside a taxi, so, she was not going to explain what had really happened back there when the taxi driver was around. So, she needed to go back to her apartment first before informing her mother.

“Okay. But make sure that you don’t put your life at risk. Otherwise, you will worry me to death.” Kate’s mom responded.

While Kate was talking to her mother about how to deal with the aftermath of this incident, Michael went back to the orphanage.

“There is no need to worry. I am okay. I am not injured.” Michael responded, a warm smile appearing on his face.

“That’s good.” Even though she said that, Rebecca still went ahead and scrutinized Michael’s body, making sure that there were no injuries on him.

It was only after she confirmed that he was not injured, that she felt relieved.

“About Dante, how did it go?” John asked a little while later.
