Raymond’s question made the room erupt in another round of laughter.

As for answering this question, Michael did not bother. Instead, he thought about what Raymond had said, and what made him think so.

The instrumental that he had selected was something that he had just randomly picked. And coincidentally, it was one that required something that showed longing.

And that was why he had prepared such a song. As for the exact lyrics of the song, now, this was something that he had just randomly thought about.

Was it really possible that he was missing her? But, that did not make much sense. After all, the two of them had not interacted that much.

So, why would he start missing her, to the extent that he subconsciously began preparing songs for her?

While he was still thinking about this, Alex suddenly spoke. “Okay, there is no need for that. Anyway, if you don’t want him to marry your cousin, our Walter family has options for him to pick from.”

During the previous encounter with Kate at the shooting range, Alex came to realize that there seemed to be quite a good relationship between Kate and Michael.

Since everyone had already sang, the group engaged in chatter. They began talking about different things, especially those that had happened within the city.

Occasionally, they would mention Annex supermarket chain and Starlight Restaurant chain.

In actual sense, they mainly mentioned this supermarket chain because of the speed of its development. At the same time, they wondered who it was that owned it.

Unlike the information about Sky Technologies, which was revealed, revealing that Michael was the owner, the information on Annex Supermarket was not.

Michael did not mention anything during this conversation. Even though what they were talking about were related to him, there was no need for him to reveal anything.

As for what they mentioned about the possibility of the restaurant chain being acquired by someone else, or even closing down, he did not take that seriously.

In any case, he did not believe that there was anyone within this city that had the capability of doing that.

Michael had no intention of selling the restaurant chain. And on the other hand, considering that Benjamin was the one that was in charge of the restaurant chain, it was impossible for it to close down.

Of course, he believed that those people, upon realizing that they could not use legitimate means to close it down, they might resort to some underhanded tricks.

But that was something that Michael was already prepared for. After all, Onyx was doing the monitoring.

While the entire private room was thrilled, the door of the VIP room was opened, before several people came in.

At the helm of the group of four was a beauty.

She wore a fitted emerald-green dress that traced her stunning figure, the fabric cinched neatly at the waist before falling smoothly over her hips.

A slim belt in muted gold rested at her midsection, matched by delicate bracelets at her wrist. Her long auburn hair was styled in loose waves that spilled over her shoulders, framing her face.

Her eyes were an uncommon shade of pale gray-violet, striking against her warm complexion. Heeled ankle boots in soft suede completed the look.

The eyes of most of the boys in the VIP room focused on her, completely missing the three people behind her.

The three behind her, one of them was the manager of the KTV. As for the other two, they were Carol’s agent and assistant respectively.

While Carol directly went to the stage, with the other two, to prepare, the manager directly went to look for Alex. He was the one who had booked the VIP room.

“Young master Alex, how long would you like her to perform for you guys? If you’d like her to perform until 2 p.m., that is also possible.” The manager said in a flattering tone.

“Let her perform as much as she can. There is no need to push her if she doesn’t want to. But, let her know, if she performs well, she will be able to receive her benefits.” Alex simply shook his head as he responded.

The manager nodded, before he quickly went ahead and relayed the information to Carol. But, Carol did not bother to say anything. Instead, after everything was arranged, she began performing.

Listening to her songs, Michael had to admit that she had such a pleasant voice. Unfortunately, the song that she was singing at the moment was not meant for her.

If she could get a song that perfectly matched her voice, that would be better. Still, when it came to singing, she wasn’t that bad.

Of course, Carol did not sing only one song. Instead, she sang a total of three songs. And out of the three songs, only one song did Michael find to be a match for her.

This made him slightly puzzled. Was she the one who wrote the songs, or the songs were written for her by someone else? And if they were written by someone else, why did she select those songs when they did not match her?

Even though the way that she was singing them made it that the songs seemed to be amazing, but that was not the case. If those songs were given to someone else who was suitable, they would be even better.

Despite his thoughts, Michael did not bother to comment. Instead, he just continued watching silently.

Carol on the stage, continued performing her fourth song. But, she began getting frustrated.

This was not the first time that she was performing today. She had been somewhere else, before she came here.

Each and every time that she finished singing there, she received a round of applause and some flattery. But here, it seemed that they were not that impressed by her singing?

And just as she was wondering why that was the case, she finally got the reason. As she had just finished the fourth song, and was preparing to sing the fifth one, she heard one of them speaking.

“Even though her voice is quite good to listen to, her songs are not that good. When compared to Michael’s, her songs are complete trash.”

When she heard those words, Carol was momentarily stunned. But at the same time, she was feeling furious as she glared at the person who had just spoken.

“Excuse me, but could you please make yourself clear with what you just said?” Carol immediately confronted him.
