Chapter 125: Find a Scapegoat

“He is the one who acquired Sky Technologies? How is that possible?!” David exclaimed as he tried to stand up.

“Ouch! Argh!” But his effort was disrupted by the pain that came from the leg the moment that he tried moving.

“Please sir, try to minimize your movements. Otherwise, you might end up aggravating your injury.” The nurse, who was within the ward, said when she noticed David trying to move.

David completely ignored the nurse’s warning, as he focused on his father.

He asked, “That kid, even if he has some background, he should not be capable of acquiring Sky Technologies, right?”

“Don’t talk about what is possible or not. Just focus on what has already happened. He has already acquired Sky Technologies, implying that his wealth is above our own.

Additionally, this is a proof that his background is not simple either. So, he is not someone that is easy to mess with.” Ronald stated with a slight frown on his face.

“So what if he has some big background? At the end of the day, is he not within Brenton city?

I don’t believe that his family can exert much power or influence within this city. We can use uncle to lock up that kid, even if it is just for a few days.” David could not accept this outcome, so, he blurted out.

Even though he was afraid of Michael, that did not imply that he was willing to accept this outcome.

No matter what he had to find a way of doing some revenge, even if it would only make Michael suffer a little.

“Are you out of your mind?” Ronald seemed unimpressed by David as he asked, a displeased expression on his face.

David was a son that he really dotted on. The reason behind this being that, he found this son of his to have some brains.

He thought, he was very suitable to inherit the family business after him. That was why he was willing to indulge him in many things, as at least, usually, he would not mess up.

He had already done a lot of things, but he had hid them well, to the extent that it was almost impossible to be able to find out what he had done.

If not for the fact that Anthony, who was beside David was someone that was loyal to him, Ronald would not have been able to find about all the things that David had done either.

But now, looking at the way that David was reacting, it did not seem like a person who had some brains at all. It was like someone who was desperate for revenge, regardless of the consequences.

“You want to have him arrested? Do you have evidence showing that he is the one who broke your leg?

Don’t tell me that it is those lackeys that you are going to depend on to be your witnesses. That alone is not enough.

After all, someone can just agree together with their friends to frame someone, and they can pretend that they were witnesses.

David listened to what his father was saying, and began thinking. He was someone who usually used his brains, rather than do things impulsively.

“I was attacked inside an apartment building. As long as we can get the surveillance footage within that building, it should not be much of a problem to be able to make sure that he seems to be completely at fault.” David responded.

“That is why I asked you, did you do your investigation carefully? You went to attack him inside an apartment building, did you not know that that was his territory?” Ronald inquired.

“His territory? How? It is clear that he has rented an apartment. So, does him renting an apartment there make that his territory? Additionally, he only came to this city less than a month ago.” David retorted.

“That whole apartment building, it belongs to him. He rented the apartment first, but after some time, he bought the whole building.

You want to get the surveillance footage of that building? Do you think that he will allow you to get it?” Ronald seemed to be quite angered as he asked in an aggressive tone.

His words left David completely dumbfounded.

At the same time, David could not help but think about the time that he had been asked by Michael if the owner of the building would allow him to see the surveillance footage.

At that time, he had responded in an arrogant manner, claiming that the owner of the building would beg him to take the surveillance footage.

But thinking about his current broken leg, and how easily Michael had been able to take down his men, it was clear that it would not be that easy to be able to deal with him.

“Dad, no matter what, that kid has to pay for what he has done to me. He has crippled me, and from now on, I will be called a cripple no matter where I go.” David was unreconciled as he said while slamming his fist on the bed.

This sudden movement made him groan slightly from the pain that came from his leg after shaking it up.

“Do you think that I also want this? But, this is not going to be an easy thing to deal with. At most, we can get some small benefits, but it will be impossible for us to be able to do anything major to him.” Ronald shook his head as he responded.

This was his favorite son after all. When he heard the news about what had happened to him, of course, he was infuriated.

But after knowing who it was that they had to deal with, he had no other choice but to calm down. If it had just been a nobody, even if they had some combat skills, they would have already been dealt with.

“You, get out.” David said as he pointed at the nurse.

She might be working at the best hospital, but she was from within Brenton city. She already knew about the Kingsley family, and was not willing to offend them.

After all, she was just a nurse. She could be easily replaced by the hospital. So, it was impossible for the hospital to deal with the Kingsley family just for her.

Additionally, there was no reason for her to listen in on the conversation between this father and son pair. Otherwise, who knew, maybe they might end up silencing her later on.

After the nurse left, closing the door of the ward behind her, there was a moment of silence within the room.

Finally, David spoke, “Dad, why don’t you just hire a hitman? We can use other channels, making sure that we are not linked to this.

We can maybe find our enemy, maybe try to cause some conflict between them and this kid, then later on, have someone kill this kid off.

If his family does some investigation, they would end up targeting our enemies instead. That way, I would have been able to get my revenge, and our family would have gotten rid of an enemy.”

Ronald thought about David’s suggestion, finding it to be feasible. It was just that, he did not know how to induce some enmity between Michael and one of his enemies.

Neither of his enemies were idiots. It would be impossible for them to do anything to Michael, the moment that they knew about his background.

“Do you have a plan? Otherwise, this suggestion of yours is not going to work.” Ronald questioned after thinking for a moment without finding a solution.
