Chapter 110: Carriage

The boys together walking the path towards the carriage. For an island, the plains before them stretches out sweet golden grass. Delicate small animals mousing about the dense grass. The path itself is winding a paradise that makes Tyr consider what the hell happened here in his mind the western front. Is a warzone and has always been perhaps like their classes. Not everything in his memories is perfect. 

A few weeks ago, his memories are a mesh of possibility. In this maze of life yet to be relived there are no celestials. It is all new to him the connections the rivalry between celestials powers. Distance is their only salvation. 

The walk takes an hour because they are not rushing and taking time to observe the world around them. Arriving a while later the boys see a steel flatbed wagon pulled by two Piker. They are bigger than normal Draft Dogs, almost a head taller and half a body thicker. Docile and friendly these giants love nothing more than to pull. 

Styx whistles touching the side of the Piker with a golden coat. The other is a darker mahogany that dazzles Styx too he enjoys the hounds. He grabs the reigns from Tyr Attaching them to the special clasps on the body harness attached to the Piker Draft Dog. 

Styx says, “Yes you are beautiful, oh yes you like that…you are better than smelly SKY Ocean Hunter.” 

SKY Ocean Hunter says, “THen you can drive and be careful. The path isn’t really suited for high speed. ” In fact, it doesn’t even have space for Tyr and SKY Ocean Hunter. Thus they have had to walk at a walking pace. This sits well with Styx who is enjoying these over Tyrs’ Draft Dogs.

Styx says, “Tyr where are your Draft dogs.” Tyr shakes his head prices have to be paid for everything. 

Tyr says, “Medium Bunz has my babies otherwise I wouldn’t be here. I’m supposed to be in a grand merchant adventure in the Pike region. My mission will have set us up.” 

SKY Ocean Hunter says, “Ba! What mission is third on the list we still heading to the deep after getting to the ruins.”  They have discussed how to go about getting stronger real quick. Given how going to the deep which has three of the items SKY Ocean Hunter needs to complete his Reseviour of Life. SKY Ocean Hunter even forced all them girls included to rush the south side rank 1 dungeon in order to get TYr a new weapon. Tyr even helps them run it on the hardest setting in record time. SKY Ocean Hunter is also used as a gauge to see how their individual skills work together. 

They travel along the path laughing and joking with each another talking about the members of the guild that stand out to them. Sunken Reef has many moving parts which need to be monitored. The influx of new members while necessary is deeply worrying to Styx if he could have it his way. He would run it much like a corporate guild. However, SKY Ocean Hunter won’t allow it. 

Tyr says, “Yeah it’s mad how much things are changing, The sponsors are also starting to show up.” 

SKY Ocean Hunter says, “Yeah that to our intrepid pilot over there we are in the deep talks already. Our lawyer is a woman not to be messed with. She has already closed twelve different loopholes that would have given some kind of ownership of our guild in the long run. Sponsors are more like colonisers. Trying to take what’s ours and saying it’s theirs.” 

Styx says, ” Trouble up ahead three-figure probably some monsters. ” SKY Ocean Hunter smiles at Tyr who stretches his arms wide happy to be let loose. Tyr has learned during the assault of South Side kings the difference between a wizard and a mage. Tyr had also had the idea but no that he is the magically it seems kind of ridiculous. He lifts his hand which is covered in an Aegis Shield, this item consumes magic power and creates a shield coupled with his shooter. Tyr is now as strong as a Spellblade but prefers to go by Warrior mage. His celestial class means he his class is two advanced classes like SKY Ocean Hunter and Styx. 

The three creatures that show up are two-legged rabid hairy and carrying weapons with their trunk-like arm. The Eyline monsters rush forward to meet the blazing warrior mage. The battle is quick and brutal Tyr slaughtered the life out of them.

SKY Ocean Hunter says, “So how do you feel about the new weapons.”

Tyr says, “It’s still not right I’m not sure exactly what going on with my power. It’s still eating through these weapons. “

SKY Ocean Hunter says, “The ruins should have some answers for us all. The god that made that ruin is one of many hopefully it’s one of ours.: Tyr smiles knowing it is indeed part of their pantheon Tyr hopes it will give them leverage in the future. 

Styx says, “Yeah man the world is getting more dangerous every day, The Greys got slaughtered their own island but the THaws. Those putas are hitting every other power trying to stale them.’ 

SKY Ocean Hunter says, “Lets them come, I even owe Crippling Desert a few deaths.”

Tyr says, “Yeah and those two weird guys.” 

Styx says, “Tha way hilarious how did you let them sneak up on you.” 

SKY Ocean Hunter laughs and says, “Then also let them steal your two elemental stones. Remember how pissed off NIineth Immortal was after she revived.” 

Tyr says, “It’s not that funny, I doubt anyone could have didge they must be professionals or something I’m telling you.” 

The boys all arriving back in the village and hand in the mission to the old lad. She then asks for a small favour to take a bottle of wine to one of the Shamans in town. Styx bides the Pikers farewell seeming genuinely sad. The new mission will have them deliver the bottle for the exact same reward they just got. Thirty pieces of copper each and a reputation point. They don’t exactly have any other choices so they have to do it. 

After that, they have to find a new mission to do the boys go to one of the only none iron buildings on the high street. This stone building has a fat ugly bastard of a manager who tasks them with finding his sons lost pig. They split up in order to track the swine. allowing them to clear the mission in only an hour. 

The next mission is a lot better as they are tasked by the guards to protect a lady while she travels around town. This mission has the highest merit as they meet a lot of the higher-ranking members of the village. THey even get a promise of work from her father the mayor. The promise serves as a way to enforce that they need to have the right amount of reputation in order to get the mission they want. 

Over several days they spend doing all kinds of missions throughout the village. and become increasingly popular as they steadily raise their reputation. From fetching building material to looking for the dungeon entrance. To scouting for new farmlands. The boys do it all even shovelling shit for a silver. THey transport goods for merchants, guard the village against bandits and even help a few learn about the base classes. 

All this work eventually lands the three boys where they started. Outside the mayors’ office speaking to his sectary to see if they can finally get an audience with him. The secretary after an official amount of time allows entry into the spartan office. The mayor with his burly personality chuckles as the boys walking i. 

HE says, “SIt sit come you guys have done really well over the past couple of days. All o the village life is returning. YOu may have noticed but we have very few able bodies anymore.” Taking all the available sitting in the office everyone settles down to talk about matters of a more substantive nature. 

As they get comfortable the secretary brings in a tray with an assortment of goods and some paperwork. She is now soft-spoken and much less aloof to the boys. Styx immediately rushes the cakes eating them faster than she can put them down. The secretary goes about her business helping SKY Ocean Hunter and Tyr select an appropriate tea to begin the meeting with. 

They sitting enjoying each others company first this process of getting to know one another by offering tea first sets the mood of the occasion as they get down to the nitty-gritty of it. Setting down his cup and waiting for everyone to finish. The mayor gets out one of the scrolls the secretary brought out clearing his throat sliding the scroll over to them and…
