Chapter 119: Deeper into the fray
SKY Ocean Hunter throws Styx towards the frantic enemies, having lost his hammer when one of the dogs uses a skill [Tendon Rip] that caused him to drop his automatically. He looking for which one of the pale flea-ridden pests has stolen his hammer. That hammer is the proper rare item he got. Lux just gave it a name the other day since he seems to prefer it over the other hammers that deal more damage. Hammerfall as she calls it gives him a 5% boost to casting magic. It is one of the kinds of weapons preferred by clerics like SKY Ocean Hunter.
Styx spirals through the air, his blades reaping the demonic dogs apart with his current strength he can one-shot each demon dog. The dogs with their plague-filled jaws try to bite at him, they are so ravenous that they try to climb over one another. Styx looks over at Tyr who is still trying to decipher the minigame locking mechanism. Styx is saving his magic power for later enemies just like SKY Ocean Hunter is right this is just the beginning and they are not sure how the inside of the central lab will work.
Tyr is past the first two levels of the lock. This specific kind of lock is a first combination spell lock. The problem is that unlike those in his past life this one is extremely precise. One of the easiest ways to lock a door is to make it test magic power control. Unlike the first level which was magic pressure and magic power, magic control requires much more focus than he is used to. Even a low-level lock like this would trip up most modern-day trained magic classes.
Styx says while reaping a slew of demon dogs, “how much longer, these pests are endless.” Typical of mobs their are a large of these dogs and being unable to confirm their source it makes more sense to move forward. But also if necessary they can retreat and try to clear out the source of the infestation which to his best guest would be somewhere central probably guarded by a miniboss. Yeah, that would be a nice easy way to start this crazy place. He also wonders who could have been the one to set this trap to activate as soon as they touch that damn statue.
Tyr says, “I’m not sure it won’t be more than five minutes.” While he is confident in being able to pass the trail his weak control over his magic means, that this is similar to playing Collision Electric shock maze with shakey hands. While the maze isn’t too tough his ill-discipline means he has to start over several and given the length of a maze takes about a minute forty-five seconds he is fairly confident he can get done in the time he specified. With each failure, he is quickly figuring out exactly how to get through the dazzling maze.
SKY Ocean Hunter spots a slightly smaller dog that is trying to weave itself past its own kind. Lucky for him with its hammer in its mouth it is tripping up a few of them causing him to it. Three blades of riptide water appear in front of his tooth-laden mouth thanks to Ninth Immortal who uses dragon casting, SKY Ocean Hunter has picked up how to cast will his hands are busy. The water blade crash, splitting the demon dog’s blocks of soaked white fur are blasted away from SKY Ocean Hunter. He then spring pushes himself forward with his tail one hand clawing straight through another demon dog while his right grabs the demon dog by the neck. He plans to throw into the dog carrying his hammer just like how he threw Styx a minute ago.
Tyr lifts up his hands controlling three rods at the same using nothing but his magic. Tyr is reminded of why the first era is so valued they have a physical method for training magic essence. Even the term magic essence comes from them used to express the stages of magic. The lab door is steadily unlocking as the various rods at different intervals and location passes through them. Tyr is growing increasingly confident unlike any other new player will find this hard he is clearing it at its highest difficulty.
Styx goes towards SKY Ocean Hunter to cleat the path back to Tyr his leap has allowed some of the Demon Dogs to be able to attack from behind. Styx slides past a few decapitated Demon Dogs their deep yellow tongues releasing a strong foul-smelling odor. Styx guesses that the tongue is the source of poisonous he uses his alchemy skill to pull out that tongue in the best condition possible so that he can study it later. He wants to surprise the rest of the guild and that stupid loud mouth under Medium Bunz with his alchemy skill. As the leaders, they must be ahead of all especially given that each of them has a special lifestyle class.
Click! Clank the giant steel and magic reinforced doors start to open up to a pristine dusty lab. The floors are stone carved to look like blocks. Inside the sign on the wall with arrows i]pointing in various directions lists all the labs found in this building. Tyr at the precipes tries to peek inside to make sure they are in the right lab. According to the note from the dead body of the professor in the main square, they have moved the portal Gem from the tree at the center of the public park to a research lab. Tyr can’t really make anything o the same symbol of the Canious Combine is on the wall.
Tyr says, “Come on I think this is the one!” SKY Ocean Hunter is over on the far side a few meters away. Close to the alley leading back to the main square of the Ancestral City. Tyr throws out several low-tier fire spells to clear the Demon Dogs trying to push towards SKY Ocean Hunter. This is made easier since Styx is already clearing the ones leading toward him. The foul smell of the demon dogs’ putrid bodies.
Makes SKY Ocean Hunter Flip over on his back and use his tail to grab the pale death mongrel and strangle it. THe then whips behind him onto the path that Styx has cleared grabbing his Hammer as the demon dog changes into a motionless meat sack that looks like something that has been run over by a car. He quickly joins Styx and Tyr who already waiting for him at the door using long distant magic spells to keep the Demon Dogs off him. They all leap in together, doors slamming shut behind them baring the demon dogs following but more importantly preventing them from escaping.

Elsewhere in the world
A large snake with scales of a rainbow lies battered and bruised her owner a witch is also on he last breath. In front of them is the one who did this she is wearing a full purple and jewelled head mask. Her arms are transparent. Made of iridescent magic with strands of pure magic power turning into lightning as they escape her area of influence.
The Infinite Witch isn’t sure exactly why she is being attacked by this being but she is more powerful than anything she has come across. And as the only player to have travelled to more than two continents already the infinite Witch is sure that this player must someone very strong. She can’t shake the feeling that she has seen someone similar though much weaker. The way their magic operate comes from a similar source if not the exact same one.
Unable to defeat this opponent and unable to retreat without sacrificing her pet. The infinite Witch goes on the full offensive she wants to at least try her best as this death which is inevitable will set her back a few months. She fights with fluidic intensity spells flowing from one to the next. The Infinite Witch tries her best to apply pressure one this juggernaut of magic in front of her. She even uses a set of special one-time-use crystals that increase her magic power. For about forty uninterrupted seconds the spells fly. She moves around making it harder to predict where she will attack from next. The magic flurry ends with the Infinite Witch grabbing onto her chest where there is a massive hole. She doesn’t quite understand how this woman did it but the magic pressure she felt had frozen her for a split second which then allowed this enemy to use an attack she is unfamiliar with to completely absorb her magic power. This lowered all her defences the more shocking part was that the spell continued until it ripped a hole in her chest.
The last thing the Infinite Witch sees is the system notification for her death and who killed her.
