Chapter 3: You’re A WHAT!
Tyr says, “that’s a good name not many Nagas can claim to be part of a ranked Ocean Drowned House. I’m Tyr and this is sister Nineth Immortal.”
Some water sprays out of Sky Ocean Hunter in surprise, he didn’t think that Tyr would know he is technically royalty in the Barren Sea. Maria Mei bows while she has to meet Sky Ocean Hunter a few times in the real world. She is not yet close with him. Sihle and Maria Mei were homeschooled and over time their parents would alternate teaching days since they were neighbours in the village.
Nineth Immortal moving her silver hair to one side says, “how’s Athena?” Athena is Johns girlfriend since forever as they tell it. She moved to the village on an intercontinental pass and only got her ownership rights last month. As if summoned a beautiful, muscular Elf with bright red skin and marvellous blue tapestry for clothing walks through the rainbow glass. John moves closer to inspect her. She introduces herself as “Lux.” Sky sprays her with seawater making her wild brown hair wet. She smiles at him. She has learnt that Naga’s have very weird ways of showing affection.
However, Tyr can’t help but run to her and say, “Quick put on your cloak I can’t believe you chose a fucken blood elf. I thought we agreed on you to be an Aziza.” Sihle is distressed because Blood Elves were enemies of all races until just before the game launch. The intro movies show scenes of the Blood Lake War and the signing of the peace treaty between the six races and the Blood Elves as the current setting of Liguria.
Most Blood Elves are still viewed with a lot of hatred by most NPC’s. Who has only heard of the Blood Lake War and lost loved ones to the War? Tyr says, “By the seven above look, there is still bounty poster out for Blood elves.”
Sky Ocean Hunter slams his tail in displeasure since he can’t frown. Tyr does the Naga thing and roars at him of all things. Their roar is controlled and conveys that he is just really surprised. In fact, one could say he is totally god smacked the only way to get a limited race is to have an ultra-deluxe package that can give access to the blood elf race and several other neutral races like Sirens which are just river bound Nagas or even The Mythically difficult to control Drakon. Sihle makes a note to look into her background deluxe packages are not something that can be bought with credits. One would have to be a citizen in one of the Colonial Habitats.
Smiling ruefully Lux says, “wait until you see sister Asa you will be even more surprised.” As if summoned a sky blue half-giant female walks through the door. Tyr’s jaw falls to the ground in disbelief any halfling needs insane luck to acquire. He is starting to think that his friends are beyond lucky. Of his friends, each of them has some kind of special trait and there is still more to come. And there is still Raul and Rowena to go. First to arrive is Raul Gonzalez he is playing a race Tyr hasn’t seen before. This is probably because of Raul’s inability to listen.
Raul has a thin body with an ethereal quality to them, Nineth Immortal is first to react this time and says in a shocked voice, ” are you a Keeper or a Guider?” Spiritual aligned being has their own quibbles. The main division being Soul Keepers like Nerks or Soul Guiders besides these there are also a number of non-corporeal races. At least he isn’t a Syphon which would have given her a major headache especially with the current state of her Legion.
Raul says quickly, ” Chikita calmate, I’m a Soul Guider of the Netherealms second Estuary .” Tyr can’t help but be shocked in his past life the only interaction he had with the Netherealm was during the war of souls. which will happen in a few years and show how truly deadly high ranked Spiritual Beings are.
Nineth Immortal says, “Good then there should be no problem. Brother, I don’t know your name.”
Raul in his best Spanish accent and with a flare of his hands says, “My name Jaun Pedro del la joking… it’s just Styx!” He couldn’t help himself soon enough a few other humans start appearing through the plane window. Finally, a few minutes later Rowena walks out. She is a pure spirit, unlike Netherealm beings. Who are spirits living in the material world? A pure spirit like herself appears as a glass armour wearing ghost. She doesn’t even have feet just floating around.
Tyr says, “You Guys must have used hacks or something why am I just a plain human while you are all variants of your races.” Playfully showing like he is jealous. Ideas changing forming as he processes the changes. His initial hope of having a well-rounded squad is already ruined but also a wicked smile appears on Tyr’s face.
SKY Ocean Hunter can only growl in satisfaction while he is not a variant he is already the brood of a high noble so he can also gloat.
Ninth Immortal says, ” Tyr you suggested this to us, to take the history course, it’s not our fault you only read the books.” Tyr nods understanding what happened. It slipped his mind that all none human players who take the have to learn to use their bodies. He feels a little ashamed for forgetting something so simple. In his defence thou, he had to read as many books as possible to cover all the things he wants to do with raising Overwatch’s eye.
“Exactly! Hermano, you just gotta die a little.” Says Styx snapping his fingers at the group. As a Guider, he has to ferry souls in the Netherealm.
“Okay, let’s go get our party registered that way we will become citizens of the kingdom and we can start making money. Plus I have a better plan now.” Tyr smiles if he can take advantage of their races they could become powerful players in their own right. Out of the corner of his eye, Tyr thinks he sees someone but ignores his intuition since it’s not possible after all The Thaws are a northern hemispheric power. Deep inside he thanks Aria for helping do research on where best to start out in his old life. If only he could remember the reason why they had to send him back at least he would know what coming for now all he has is a date two years from now with coordinates to the Oort Cloud Habitat that was abandoned fifty years ago.
“Sister Ninth Immortal, I’m Frey.” Says Rowena she feels a bit exposed since she is only a few shades from being naked. Her glass armour fades into a sheer dress. She still has trouble controlling her form in the lower planes. A lot of the people around the pastel city of Pike look at the group of weirdos being lead by a human. The adventure hall is a plain light wooden building that can maybe fit two hundred people.
Inside the wide hall is a well-preserved interior just like the old servant at the counter. He is a Narlark a type of sentient dark wood poisonous tree. Tyr walks up to the counter and says, “I would like to register us for the recruitment program for the expeditionary force.” Tyr knows that as with unlimited freedom given by Odyssey there is also unlimited headaches. Since he already has to change his plans because of the variants. He has decided to take the hardest route since it is also the most rewarding especially the rank zero Trial Tower administered by the through the Adventure Union. By the Fallen Power of the Expeditionary Force. The perfect place for chucked full of rare quests, items and rare classes and professions. That is if they can manage to pass the trial. His implant workaround will depend on how far his friends’ determination takes them.
The old Narlark moves carefully to not uproot itself. Creaks can be heard as he starts getting the Union cards ready. These cards not only serve as an identification but also citizenship. While The Adventure Union technically doesn’t own a country. Being an Ultranational Level power it has its own system much like a country. Tyr turns to his collection of oddball players and waves them over. The whole group rushes towards him in excitement. Tyr says, “One at a time!”
First, is the translucent red Spirit Frey being played by Rowena, her soft features attract a lot of eyes and a few looks of lust. Tyr isn’t worried about his friends they are all seasoned adventurous from previous MMO’s and while Odyssey is the best VRMMORPG to be ever created. Some things are fundamental to all games. Tyr hands her a specially designed card that she can grab without needing to become fully corporeal. The card fades as she puts it in her pocket.
Then its the Naga’s turn. Sky Ocean Hunter gets his card disappearing into his scale. In fact, each of his scales will bear his information in case someone tries to steal his scales. Some races hunt each other. Naga being sea creatures are at constant war with the Crustacean Clans. After getting his card he only slithers slightly out of the way.
On his back, a red, blood elf covered in a dark blue cloak receives her card. Lux taps him on the back as they move out of the way. She is followed by the shy soft-spoken half-giant. Asa who had to shout her name to the Narlark, get given a bracelet with grooves on it. Like most giants, she uses a complex form of Braille.
Then Frey followed by Styx the two-spirit beings feeling each other out. Tyr checks everyones’ data just to be sure he has everyone in the right position. Also planning which classes suit them best.
