Chapter 188: Yet again we meet
Tyr comes out of the Typhoon hours later after Styx has arrived from his dismal mission. In his mind, things have worked out much better than he thought they would. His memories are no longer a bundled mess, the realization that he has memories from multiple versions of his past lives. Even if his sister’s doctor doesn’t believe it, the good doctor’s methods and A.I. Dr. Freud as his personal psychologist have managed to give him a handle on them. Tyr for the first time since Odyssey began can properly use what he knows to make him and his friends into a real glory guild.
A ship like the Typhoon Realm Raider is the perfect long-term vessel to base themselves out of. ‘Shit dude you first have to finish your merchant missions,’ This mission is the key for them all and where his humanity will play the biggest part.
“Hermano come on we gotta go!” Styx waves over Tyr who smiling as more and more blocks all fall into place for him. He even stands taller as the various egos in his mind are all settled. Walking towards SKY Ocean Hunter and Esame’el who are still trying their best to finish the handover. They are surrounded by a bunch of leaders from all the various chapters. Styx, Blackbeard, and Apolita are also amongst those waiting as are Ori and Omnicornlyre.
Also are the hundreds if not thousand assembled by houseboat, raft, or two feet from all the chapter who have come to admire the Typhoon. Lucky for them SKY Ocean Hunter plans to leave it here. He neither has the numbers right now nor the levels to properly utilize the ship. Tyr gives Styx a hug remembering something that Styx has been looking for for a long time. “Brother let’s go get our women back and show the world who we are.”
Styx smiles at that to him, Tyr has probably figured out already how he used SoulStealer’s own Mimic skill against him leaving Frost Empire to chase SoulStealer to the ends of the earth. “Okay, let’s do it!” The team sets off with Apolita opening up a portal for all of them.
“Calypso looks after the place we will see you guys soon.” SKY Ocean Hunter hands the control of the Typhoon over to Calypso by making her it captain. He doesn’t trust that the other guilds won’t try anything so at the very least it will be able to dive away for the time being. A sad hue of florescent blue hits Calypso scale as it does most of his pod. The journey with SKY Ocean Hunter might have been short by they have come to understand the meaning behind V.R.
The journey back to Pike is instantaneous, SKY Ocean Hunter had almost forgotten how dry the air is here compared to Risen Reef Town. There are thousands of mostly human players and NPC’s all around. Styx taking the lead heads directly towards the old merchant guild. The Merchant guild will summon The Mint of them as it did last time as they have three total summons from that one tribute. Of course, never needed to remind anybody of this because Styx reads the fine print like a penny-pinching lawyer an odd thing given that now Tyr can remember that Styx is heir to a financial Dynasty. Something that he will make sure they reclaim.
The Merchant Guild has not changed much in the month they have been away. Besides all the human players giving the mostly non-human party eyes. The Merchant guild is as inviting as the old goat of a human Midas, who is now the manager of the Merchant Guild Branch. Since #324 had so effectively dismantled the previous manager. SKY Ocean Hunter and Styx had watched the video of Medium Bunz negotiations with the Mint.
“Tyr you will speak for us, I will provide support and Styx will, wait what the hell are you doing.” Styx somehow in the few seconds it took to travel here has a whole shelf of scrolls. He has been collecting trade notes from other entities that have dealt with The Mint before and came out intact.
“Jefe I’m the brains, you guys do the talking I will sort out all the small details, #324 is about to learn why you don’t mess with the Reef.” Styx’s attitude and preparedness show how serious this is for them. Styx has spent a long time analyzing the existing deal.
“Apolita please go find Poppi or Alexi, one of us should have my Raod train with them we are going to need it soon.” With the same flash of her spell, Apolita and Blackbeard are gone to retrieve the road train. Tyr turns to Midas who is still behind his security glass window like a clerk. Tyr takes note of the odd fellow but can’t be bothered. “Please prepare #324 and a room for us.
Midas wanted to say something but soon sees the pendants marking the remaining party of six as members of Sunken Reef, the very same that owns the Reef Company operating several warehouses and an informal market on the south beach. Having recently lost another tooth there is a gap in his smile and with his horrendous breath, “Upstairs second door on the right should do you good.”
Esame’el eyes the odd manager he tried using some skills just now to analyze the party which she blocked. Midas’s small nose bleed was retaliation for not stopping when he came into touch with her passive barrier. She nods to him as they all slip away into the second room. The Room is neatly arranged table and chairs accompanied by a modest complement of fruits and flowers.
#324 also is quick to arrive or rather a haze symbol of the mints projected by the table with an artificial synthersizer. Tyr smiles it seems that the girls have increased the value of the guild several-fold. What is really a basic accommodation is nearly never done by The Mint. People make accommodation for the Mint, not the other way around.
As instructed Ori, Meerz and Esame’el are to be absolutely silent during t meeting. Ori is already enjoying the modest amounts of fruits and saving some for his Booner. Meerz has long wanted to tag along and when no one from the Reef Company was free he volunteered himself.
Styx hands over a series of notes and three bags filled with an assortment of uncut gems. His first blow is to undermine the current agreement. This is something The Mint does often renegotiate fine print details often while new deals are being struck. Styx gives a thumb up to Meerz who brought him the necessary raw materials to open negotiations.
The synthesizer crackles as #324 mental words are translated into a medium everyone can hear. “The Mint welcomes you all, we have heard much about you all.” The machine synthetic vocalize cannot carry through #324’s tone.
“Happy to be known it saves us having to introduce ourselves to you.” SKY Ocean Hunter smiling at the symbol of the Mint. They all know that the Mint is in complete control of this room and can see them clearly. This is another way they gain an advantage by often presenting themselves as somehow being limited while trying to gather as much information as possible. Unfortunately for #324 the Boys are here for business and not silly games.
“Indeed, you are of note to us.” Shuffling and other notes can be heard through the synthesizer. Tyr stands going to grab a glass of water and makes a more than obvious sign to SKY Ocean Hunter. SKY Ocean Hunter nods as Tyr starts on the wall bringing up the list of goods from the Capsized Angolan. #324 is already analyzing all the goods from his side planning how to rip them off.
“We wish to make a trade for goods we have recently procured.” SKY Ocean Hunter is handed a sheet of paper that is meant to list all the goods. What Tyr is doing is using the link to the company warehouse to allow them to immediately send them without having to physical interaction with the items. This is a small quirk guilds will notice given how large Odyessy is even the most basic warehouse is regionally interconnected via the Magus network which is also responsible for a number of other important features.
“These goods are your own creation.” Pretending to be flustered Styx rifles through several scrolls, making sure to look at SKY Ocean Hunter and wave as he goes through the mandatory mistakes until he finds the right scrolls. SKY Ocean Hunter reads it slowly to himself.
“By the Articles of Association Section 8 of the Procured goods amendments. We sight regulation three, no sorry Four dash RC108.” SKY Ocean Hunter nods at Styx, playing along with the act of them being the ones.
‘Crude but acceptable still the value of these goods is not at your current estimated value.” #324 somehow almost sounded exact in that moment. The boys on the other hand go through the motions they are trying to make sure.
