Chapter 122: MiniBoss
SKY Ocean Hunter watches frozen stiff as the club approaches his body. Since he can’t move at all he might as well try the spell that has stumped him. When he was training with Ninth Immortal she had told the evolutionary history of Naga. When the Gods created them some took inspiration from the Calamites that the Supreme being created. Specifically, Nagas is built from the exact calamity as Lavithen Dragons. This is why he can use something similar to lower draconic. Tides of water envelop his body. To create a tough shield but still, the pressure is too much to bear for him it drains his health faster than even the Miniboss can take. Something interesting did happen though the way the rapid movement of the shield forced the club to strike the ground. With only half his health remaining SKY Ocean Hunter is more vulnerable than before.
Styx is the first to get free when the club was forced to the ground the miniboss couldn’t process what just happened and froze. Killing his own moment long enough for Styx to slip away throw the nether appearing by his club slashing as hard as he can. His blades for the first time bounce off the Miniboss instead of killing it. It means that this boss has at least twice his strength. This makes him relax a bit meaning even though the miniboss used to be a scientist his class must have been something physical in life.
The Boss swings at Styx striking clean across the room into where the smashed cages are. Tyr and SKY Ocean Hunter swing into their weapons into the Miniboss. The hammer buckles the minibosses knee. The searing heat from the obsidian spear tears into his liver. Which he immediately grabs at with one hand making it impossible for Tyr to retreat his blast as a reaction Tyr sends a blast through his spear. The miniboss feeling the heat head butts Tyr which drops him. Styx twists as hard as he can while SKY Ocean Hunter aims the hilt of hammer on the chest of the Miniboss.
Snap!
Sizzle!
Thump!
Tyr from the ground sends his strongest attack range attack a direct fireblast thin as a spear severs the broken from the rest of the leg. SKY Ocean Hunter sends his most violent torrent of water towards the miniboss. Water blasts out of the end of his hammer into the chest of the Miniboss. Like a pressure hose, it tears and rips the skin. The miniboss is about to shriek and stun them all over again when two purple blades each follow the other seconds apart. SLice through his neck just above the collar. The is removed after the great impact tears its part and with a thunderous thump, the massive body of the Miniboss falls to the ground dead.
Each of them smile at each other the challenge is real. The boss had a special effect that increased his strength by the number of players they wonder how tough it would be if they had a full eight-man team to raid this dungeon. Their coordination still needs some more work while they are used to the physical skill they aren’t using their skills are optimal as possible. Tyr doesn’t really mind it nice to be able to brute force a boss. If they had a full team he can imagine how much blocking Rena would have to do. Styx moves towards removing his interlocking triangle badge. It is the key they need. SKY Ocean Hunter check his experience points the clearing this floor alone has up them all to about ten per cent. which is great given that this is the opening floor. Tyr is going through some documents after a few minutes he lets them in on what he found.
Tyr says, “The Canious Combine mainly used this floor to process basic materials of all kinds from all the field of study specialised in. According to this, the mineral process facility is in the basement with the vault while the four private labs with high-grade materials and research are on the top floors.” Tyr is a little this particular facility only uses the ore it needs for power and other lab-related actives meaning that they don’t develop special ore or create their alloys here. At least SKY Ocean Hunter and Styx might be able to find a lot of related to their lifestyle classes.
SKY Ocean Hunter says, “While that’s cool Styx what did we get. I’m hoping for something good this guy was pretty tough he should have some good items.” The body of the miniboss is looted by Styx collecting a lot of basic ore, plants and other lower grade production material. He gets three common items, two uncommon items and several potions. While not as good as the treasure chest in the first lab it is pretty decent to get five items from a miniboss. If normal players saw this would go mad. Even if they first they would have a full team and five items is not enough for everyone given how much more difficult the next floor is going to be they would definitely incur losses.
Elsewhere on Red Iron Island
Lux is leading the combat members of the Sunken Reef chapter to eliminate a smaller rival guild that has been causing trouble since they arrived. This guild has also managed to capture a small encampment nestled between two large cliffs. A highly defensible position unfortunately for them they are about to learn about Lux. Her company is built for siege warfare she has syphoned from every chapter to build a force of one thousand under her command. Since she doesn’t have true siege weapons Three kinds advance Artificer since the most start with some kind of cannon. Unlucky for her she could only get about Fifty Panzers.
Panzers are when an artificer advance into the Artificer path. They are at least eight and feet metal walking artillery. Clad in steel and fury they have some of the highest DPS and the longest range. To make up for the lack of power she brought booster classes three kinds for each single Panzer so that the damage bonuses can stack. Smiters, Orators and Commander were attached to each Panzer. For her plan to work Lux wants to use the long-range of the Panzers’ to buckle the walls quickly and create sapping points for floods of much quicker players to get in. The Smiters which are advanced bards that into the cleric basic class. Smiters don’t heal rather they add powerful effects to attacks while also having their powerful short-range attacks. Also given their natural healing ability it will extend the survivability of the Panzers in case the enemy has a response. Or even a competent commander. She has hidden swaths of assassins like class Shade, Wraiths, Stalkers, Blackblades and Disruptors. By placing between the Panzers and the main battlefield enemies can be picked off by these classes.
Orators are bards who advanced into summoners who advance into the bard allowing them to summon various support beasts that add various effects like faster attack speed. Lux though put her trust in the Commanders as a Command and control each command can various skills to help their team but most important to her is the [Repeat volley]. This allows Commanders to fire a replica skill of whoever is in their team.
The other six hundred are divided into six groups. Right in front are the heaviest armoured players like Spirit Guardians, Dreadnoughts, Goliaths and Titans. These heavily armoured monsters are supported by Templars, Crusaders, Paragons, and Paladins, these are all classes that have heavy armour but also a plethora of support skills. Then comes to their magical classes meant to snipe players on the walls and create disruption so that the sappers can enter. The Battlemages, Warzards, Elementalists and Stormcallersare these magical classes that are meant for war and can affect large swaths of the battlefield. Couple this Stalkers, Bandits, Nightblades, Illusionists and Stillers she has a powerful front line.
Lux stands in a special display crystal Loaned to her by the Mint so that she can oversee the battle without having to return to the realm. She stands thanks to the display at an impressive ten feet tall though she can’t actually attack her presence might make the enemy think they have a unique class amongst the ranks. Which have been shown to have huge power the main focus of research is one suspected player. SoulStealer has many unique abilities and he always kills any person who is linked with Sunken Reef even some fans have been killed by him.
The streamers all arrive shortly before the battle is meant to begin. Lux had made no effort to keep the operation secret one of the biggest problems facing the guild is that people and especially other guilds think they are still a small inconsequential guild that got lucky. This display of power and coordination should at the very hammer home the idea to the smaller guilds that Sunken Reef is not to be messed with.
