Chapter 23: A hardcore dungeon
All Low-level dungeons are variations of the same mission. Clear an abandoned structure. Being the first dungeon is still difficult. The rewards for doing hardcore difficulty are ridiculous. Not only is an equipment drop set. There is a huge chance to get designs, recipes and templates and other rare materials and items need for the early game.
Tyr selects the hardcore mode, most dungeons have an easy mode. This is usually for NPC players these NONE-PARTICIPATING-CHARACTERS are specifically for players who only investigate and wish to explore. They make up over half the players in-game pay only using real money. This where a large number of guilds make money by selling guild related merchandise and membership as a monthly subscription. Normal mode is players who are playing the game for fun or are just starting out. this mode is also where the most gold farming teams are found since the payout is mostly in raw materials. Hard mode is for gamers this is where most active combat players spend most of their time grinding even guild and professionals find this mode challenging. These dungeons reward items, as well as materials.
Hardcore mode is for players who wish to become peak existences in the game. These are fertile training grounds and provide players with many opportunities. The techniques needed to clear the game are learnt and refined here. The rewards are also the most lucrative since it rewards a player with stat points. This only happens on the first clear until they hit finally level ten dungeon. These points serve as a massive foundation for players.
The dungeon Tyr is in is called Fortress of thieves. These bandits like The North Forest Bandits go around raiding players and other monsters for items. In hardcore solo mode they even drop map fragments that can lead players to stashes and special items. Another part of Tyr plan is to have geared in the best equipment possible. Even better would be if he could get each of his team mats their own legendary quest to do. At least SKY Ocean Hunter seems to be on the right track. Tyr isn’t soo shocked by how SKY Ocean Hunter reacted he would probably be the same. What Tyr gave him is basically the biggest secret SKY jas so who wouldn’t be freaked out.
This Fortress is built into a cave. Tyr as a classless physical damage dealer has to use his weapon. His attack sped it determined by his spear. Tyr begins his fight with the first thief.
[Thief]
Level 5
HP: 1000 SP:1000
Humanoid monsters tend to have lower health but stronger fighting methods. They can also call for reinforcements and launch traps. Given his current equipment is trash compared to the thief. Tyr attacks first launching his spear forward. The armour the thief has is clearly blocking a lot of damage. To Tyr, this is normal and expect. Tyr moves back as the thief engages him. Then Tyr attacks again after three seconds at the knee. This slows the thief down. Tyr can now pick the thief part every time he swings his spear it is aimed at a vital spot. By the end of the fight, the thief had been stabbed in both legs, the right elbow, shoulder and neck before dying to the blow through the eye socket.
Tyr touches the remains of loots, gaining over five pieces of materials. One simple ding design and helm. The helm is a simple common helm but it does have slightly better armour than his. He also picks up ten copper.
Tyr fights all the bandits in the outer area collecting a large number of simple recipes for food, tools and other miscellaneous items. Tyr gets a wicked idea when the simple recipe for glass jar drops. IF he can farm enough of these and get the lifestyle players to make them they would have a stable source of income. an item like glass ajr has many uses besides holding potions.
Tyr also makes sure to loot blanket fabric and other foodstuff, plants and items that can be smelted. His firm will go through a lot of materials. The Fortresses inner area has groups of thieves this will require some fancy footwork on his part. While fighting the first group he moves towards a small passageway. The environment is perfect to corral the thieves. This eliminates their numbers advantage and allows him to keep going.
The Fortress square is filled with his first conundrum If he goes right he will have to fight an army however to his left is a guardian thief. These are bigger and stronger than normal thieves. Tyr goes left toward the guardian not because he thought it was easier. The guardian is standing over a chest.
The chest is simple dark wood. This is the lowest rank of the chest that can be found. Tyr is happy since it just means more stuff for him. Tyr sweeps through the guarding by spamming a sweep attack at the guardian. He is unashamed at this move and using it repeatedly. Having an attack that hundred per cent knockdown a monster is rare. The reason this work so well was because the increased size of the Guardian thief meant that it is much slower than Tyr WHo kept sweeping the back of the knee.
The guardian drops the first proper weapon.
[Common Spear]
30 – 43 damage
attack speed: medium
Info: A well-crafted spear. Can attack with both ends.
Description: Can be traded. Can be thrown.
durability 200/200
With a medium spear, his attack speed is been shorten by one second coupled with the fact that he can use either tip to attack. HIs damage output grows exponentially.
“This weapon should be fast enough,” Tyr grinning a the thought of being able to fight properly. He wiggles the steel-tipped weapon. The middle wooden shaft is carved to help with grip.
[Messges from group chat]
– Nineth Immortal – How am I meant to do this? The enemies are too strong for me without a blocker.
Nineth is in the northern first area fighting against restless hounds. Her low level dungeon is the Dark mansion. It is filled with a lot of guardsmen, Restless Hounds and butlers.
– Lux: is there nothing in your environment to help?
Lux has left a trail of dead behind her. In this dungeon, she even limited herself to only using her innate talent blood magic. She is quickly raising her proficiency would the skill.
– SKY Ocean Hunter: I found that positioning is more important than damage. Timing your attacks so just breathe and try to face them one at a time maybe.
– lux: Yes Booo! That’s my man.
– Nineth Immortal: I will try thanx btw don’t use potions bye!
-Styx: Why!
-Styx: Nineth? COME ON! WHY?!
-Styx: Guys anybody?
Tyr spins he is currently facing another Guardian thief. Before the guardian can see him Tyr throws his spear at the guardian.
– 45 [yellow]
Yellow damage is damage that has crippled an opponent. The spear flew through the air and hit the guardian in the shoulder. Without the use of its main arm, it can only defend with the shield in its hand. Tyr withdraws his spear and jumps back as the shield is swung at him.
The guardian uses a skill that causes his body to appear stiff. Tyr swipes at the illusion. The skill ‘false body’ always a low-level thief. To enter a state similar to invisibility however unlike invisibility it cannot hide the body from sight. The false body makes any enemy focus on the false body to the point that they ignore the person behind them. Tyr knowing how false body works. Attacked the false image because otherwise, he would not be able to sense. The real body of the Guardian Theif.
Tyrs’ spear moves around him, the spiral pattern providing him with a sphere of protection. The battle goes on like this for a while the guardian skill countered every time. Tyr fights the Guardian thief and waves of thieves.
Tyr can’t wait to be done this the low-level dungeon with his +5 luck from the book of knowledge and the bonus for the personal first clear. He should receive a nice reward plus with his plans finally going his way. They have ten of these low-level dungeons to clear. The personal clear reward is awarded in all low-level dungeons. Unlike ranked dungeons, these are specifically designed to train and gear new players. The trick is to do all of them before level ten. Even if a player did them on a lower difficulty as long as the player is solo. They will receive the plus one attribute to all their stats per dungeon. The second is the recommendation for the letter. This letter allows a player to study under a master of their chosen class. Some recommendations will even lead to special classes.
Once the others finish these dungeons, They will probably be the ones to recommend to him to add this as a requirement for all guild members. By the time Tyr is done he has amassed a small mountain of scrap.
[From Tyr to Medium Bunz]
Pick up for our partners xxx.xxx – south by xxx.xxx – east
With each dungeon he clears, he keeps only the material of value the rest goes to his partnered lifestyle players. In the early game, volume is more important than quality when it comes to becoming a beginner. The process is only so long because of the trading system that lifestyle players use.
