Chapter 32: A way to deal
Tyr looks at the group of men shaking his head He moves towards one of the Draft-Dogs. Tyr patting one Draft-Dog on its massive muscular rib cage. He had used the Draft-Dogs Iditarod Spirit skill which allows them to constantly for one day. This made the journey west to Riker even faster. Given that The three major villages of Pike, Riker and Shran are all connected by the main road leading back to the kingdom of Asrugo. Which technically own this region even though the regency is vacant. Tyr says visibly annoyed, “I already told you it’s not for sale, No take your lap dogs with you and get the hell out of my sight
Shocked and angry Moneybags the merchant says, “Don’t be so hasty how about we have a little bout. I can offer you something IM sure that will make it worth.” Moneybags is confident this fool will fall for his idea. After all, he hired players from a defunct professional guild. This guy is probably just got lucky and got this Road Train instead of a standard wagon. How can he allow such a good prize to be in the hands of some who isn’t as gifted as himself. He starts rifling in his bag for a blueprint. His squad had gotten one from a monster. The monster was a unique monster and once killed would never be seen again. The monster they killed was Laviethin Goblin.
[Laviathen Goblin – Unique]
Level 3
HP: 1000
Information: The last living Laviathen Goblin, due to carrying its civilisation legacy on his back he is very slow. Drops highly valuable loot. They had stumbled upon it by luck and received
Tyr angrily says, “Fuck off man!!!
Gobi says, “Just the boss a chance he is very rich I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.”
Tyr seeking to insult them and ruin the business deal says, “Even if you brought your sister and spread her legs open right here. I wouldn’t even let my dogs sniff her. Just leave I don’t want your shitty items.”
Everyone hearts slow and faces turn ugly, Tyr had accidentally touched on Gobis’, reverse scale. Gobi is the vice leader of the party of ten. They are called Rebbecas’ warriors after his sister Rebecca. Even their old guild symbol was something Rebbecca had drawn.
Gobi is pulled by his party members. He is fuming face red with rage, sword-swinging widely. Lucky for them an attack has to hit to registered otherwise they would all be going to jail just now. They are in the town centre there are many witnesses all around. ITs why Moneybags has to negotiate otherwise. Given how greedy Moneybags is they would have robbed this player if they meet out in the fields.
[Message from Styx to Tyr]
Styx – ???
Tyr – xxxx.xxxx
Styx – Pike?
Tyr – on the dot.
In the background as Moneybags approaches after the failure of his man. Moneybags holds out a sheet of paper. Tyr doesn’t recognise the pattern edged on the back. Odyessy is too wide there are many things that only a few players know and many more that nobody knows.
[Magic Obelisk – Lost design]
Info: When learnt allows the player to construct a Magic Obelisk. The Leviathan Goblin civilisation is old and prestigious. It fell into ruin when the Goblin God-King was killed.
Requirements: (1) High-grade stone
(2) HIgh-grade wood
(3) High-grade glass
(4) High-grade five varient element cyrstals
Takes 36 hours to build. Can be upgraded.
Lost tech is of course always tempting but only if you have the whole set. Besides being stronger than standard items Lost designs usually also have better upgrades. Tyr smiles some actually already has lost tech. Of course, he has already set aside a treasure for his guild but this could help one of the others. Tyr says, “NO! Leave!”
Tyr knows a greedy he has dealt with them his whole life, even right now those monsters from Baron International are trying to take his home away from him and the village. As a new Planitia, the is a lot of money to made once it grows to the appropriate size. The growth of Bergbo requires a lot of money. The Martian government has already done surveys and put development. Those who applied to settle the land did so because they can parley that into fortune once the Platina grows. The reclaiming of Mars is well underway and even in his memories, it becomes a hub in the solar system.
Moneybags takes out another Blueprint. It is much bigger size doesn’t denote value like Moneybags think it does. So Tyr reminds him. “Seriously how am I supposed to build these buildings. Are you going to give me a Baronship and materials to build it?” Tyr folding his arms. Every merchant knows this body sign as ‘I’m going to do what you want.’
Moneybags is of a similar mind the lost tech is valuable only to a player with the land. He planned to solve his problem with money. In his world money makes the sun spin. Moneybags says ” I can’t give you all that but you were strong enough to get this Road Train. Surely a player such as yourself can find a way to get land and the materials.” Gobi spits at the feet of Tyr. Moneybags immediately signals his men to take him away and he stands on the spitball that landed on the ground.
Tyr says, ” Ah you unmannered too, I don’t think we will be doing business today. I will take my road train to the capital. And by tomorrow I will be doing business with civilised people.” Tyrs’ face and body language all signal that the deal is dead.
Moneybags knows though until the person is gone a deal is never truly dead. Plus Tyr had increased the value of his Road Train. Telling him that it could reach the main city in one day is really good. His wagon would take eight days, if they used the highways. The nearest city is eight hundred kilometres north by northwest. It is the Kingdoms’ main mining city having a source of major kind of metal close by in several hundred mines. Some even call it the city of gold. Due to its high mineral wealth.
Moneybags says, ” Since we are talking…” Moneybags rubs his fingers together, cosying up to Tyr. The mans’ fat rolls are warm and make Tyr feel like he needs to adjust his personal space settings. It’s a simple system that prevents unwanted intimate contact…”How about it name your price, if I can’t afford it then I will let you go.”
Tyr smiles he is going to make the man an offer he has to refuse. Tyr says, ” I want all the drops that relate to the lost tech. fifty thousand silver and A million credits. That’s my lowest price.” Tyr wiggling out of the grasp of the visibly shaken merchant. Moneybags has heard of people who don’t value courtesy but this ingrate. Is too much how can he expect soo much for a Road Train.
Moneybags says, “Friend that’s a funny joke. Now that we have a price let’s properly negotiate.” With a wave of his hand, he activates the skill Merchants table. Then suddenly a chair and table appear with a few drinks. Both players are teleported to either side of the table.
Tyr shakes his head he had forgotten about this skill, it can be bought from the association. For a large sum of money. Tyr says, ” Make it quick.”
Moneybags jovially says, ” How about a million credits straight up. I will even pay for the taxes and transfer costs.” Tyr shakes his head if he wanted money he could sell it on the grey market. He is credit rich so spending real money doesn’t matter. Since his company only operates on one planet and isn’t on the stock exchange. The restrictions placed on companies by Overwatch only applies if he wishes to operate outside of his home region.
Tyr says, “No,” Pressing the failure button Moneybags has three chances before Tyr is freed. Merchants table give the merchant who uses a simple gauge to see how well or badly the negotiation is going. Moneybags tries a different approach.
Moneybags says, “Let’s agree on the million if we are successful…” This is to prevent him from failing with the skill as long as a deal is struck even a bad one. He will earn a small amount reputation with the association. There is also some experience to be gained too.
Tyr has never been part of this skill. He was only a captain in his past life. So he is good at raids and leading teams. A gap he hopes to fill with some promising players. Given his knowledge, he should be able to raise a considerable force. Tyr accepts the deal however the button won’t accept until he gives a concession. Moneybags is higher levelled than him so he can’t do anything but give up a little something that will help the deal. He decides on information as his concession. Tyr types into the system bar. The information appears as a hint to Moneybags as the initiator of the skill he gets this bonus.
(-) The complete set of lost tech blueprints.
‘What the fuck kind of clue is this. You might as well tell me. He wants to make me a limp dick a green hat-wearing push over. This is some real bullshit.’ He does some calculations The Road Train on the forums is even more valuable it can be upgraded several times and it would make more money than he is about to spend.
Moneybags says, “How about this, I will give all the blueprints. In return, we will get fifteen per cent discounts. In you all businesses, town etc that you own or operate. Secondly, the value of the set is very high so I will need the million back.
Tyr is tempted! The four lost tech designs are specialised. These lost tech revolving around the four pillars of that empire. Tyr says, “Look I need this and the million so how about I tell you how to get your own Road train and we call it even.” Moneybags eyes twitch violently. Tyr is trying to really trying to rip him off.
Moneybags scratches his head rubbing his neck fat a small piece of dirt rolls out. The money is inconsequential to him but the blueprints on the other hand are truly valuable he could make a killing in future. Moneybags “You should have said that first friend. Let’s do this look here is a million credits for wasting your time…” He sends them money securing the deal gaining reputation and then..”For the information another million how does that sound.”
Tyr says, “Sure that sounds reasonable.” Inside he is going crazy a million credits for a simple common mission. He realises that most people probably don’t know that the best way to pass Merchant mission is to always go overboard. The way they hand mission if a player only doe the minimum they might never even rank up. Tyr sends the information and the Merchants table registers a successful mission.
Tyr is all smiles as he receives another million credits for the information. Two million credits is enough to start the investment portfolio he opened earlier. Sihle will use the holding company where they all partners in. To invest in companies that will grow as a result of Oydessy first on his list is the soon to be available Cantos stock. This will give them a passive income securing a future for them no matter what. Sihle still sees more ways money can be made.
[Soverign class + 1 path point]
Styx walks to him as Tyr is still dreaming about the future. Tyr tells him to update his forum post and add the merchant association pays better if you overdo a mission.
(1) Updated – Wild Dog to the monster – Draft-Dog is the servant version [ similar to how a hunter will fight a boar then once captured it becomes a War’tog]
