Chapter 100: My Darling Kumo

To my and everyone’s surprise, the Jorogumo and all her babies spawned from the darkness of the night itself. The Jorogumo herself looked like a giant spider with her top half being that of a woman. Except instead of two eyes, she had six. Her lower half being that of a black widow spider.

’What is happening? Did she expand her territory?’

Her babies instantly set on the Nyx pack ripping them a part where they stood. Their horrified screams grew twisted and seeing this the jorogumo laughed cruelly.

“You wretched woman!” Danzo roared loudly before charging towards the yokai.

I didn’t know what the story was between the two but if the yokai was fighting against Danzo then it meant our interests aligned at least temporarily.

Danzo leaped into the air with his claws poised to end the yokai’s life But at the last second I lounged myself towards him like a high speed bullet.

The impact that occurred was akin to two high powered machinery slamming into each other.

“My Darling!”

I felt the bones in my shoulder shatter when I collided against him but it was well worth it since he was sent flying into the chaotic battle unfolding around us.

I popped my shoulder back into place then turned my attention to the yokai.

“My Darling-”

“Jorogumo, you’re an enemy of Danzo, correct?”

Her beautiful face which held a blush transformed into a nasty scowl when I asked the question.

“He tried to kill me when I tried to stop him from getting here. He even killed a few of my babies”

“Then we’re on the same side”

“Of course my darling why wouldn’t we be?” She asked looking at me with dainty eyes. “Umm… one more thing, could you call me Kumo instead of Jorogumo.”

“Sure, take care of the werewolves of the Nyx pack. I’ll handle Danzo.”

“Wait! Darling umm… can you practice saying my name. Just so I’m sure you can pronounce it! That’s it!”

“Sure… Kumo?”

Suddenly her entire face flushed red and she began panting heavily to the point where steaming began puffing from her mouth.

“My Darling!”

“Yes! Oh yes! I’ll do it!”

She grabbed her cheeks which looked as if it was burning up and began rotating her hips.

“Yes! I’ll do whatever you ask of me no matter what!”

“MY DARLING!”

She squealed loudly as she ran off. Her giant spider legs taking her as fast as she could go.

I found her behavior a bit amusing and unknowingly I began to chuckled as I saw her running through the battlefield screaming darling over and over again.

’I wonder if I can recruit her to be a part of my pack. With her watching our territory, it would be difficult for another pack or even a horde of monsters to attack us.’

With Kumo now helping us, I turned my attention back to Danzo. He was on a war path trampling over anyone who dared come close to him, even his own men.

He was dead set on coming after me so I led him to a clearing on the forest where we wouldn’t be interrupted.

His yellow glowing eyes stalked me from atop the trees as I led him away. His bloodlust was one where I would get visions of myself getting killed by him.

I’ve watched myself gotten killed a total of 17 times since the battle started. All the werewolves and skinwalkers in my pack also saw visions of themselves getting killed. This was part of the reason why they were losing even after outnumbering the Nyx pack.

This man watching me like a predator was strong enough to affect the tide of battle just by his presence alone.

I was in for one hell of a fight and every Fibre of my being was screaming at me to get away.

“Skinwalkers and werewolves have been at war for centuries. Ever since they were kicked out of purgatory,” Danzo spoke as he walked towards me.

“Why were they kicked out?” I asked

“Hmm… Vampires don’t like werewolves and witches don’t like skinwalkers. It’s all the same. The moment the Djinn left all the races turned against each other and now we have Oni falling from the skies.”

“Oni?” I asked raising an eyebrow.

“Demon. What did you think the monsters were? They came here to destroy and wreak havoc. That’s why I aim to build the strongest pack, so that when everything falls, we will still remain.”

“That doesn’t make any sense.”

“Hmm… are you crazy!” Danzo scolded as sharp fangs began to grow when his mouth.

“Your motive for attacking I mean. Roran said you started attacking the werewolves of his territory weeks before the apocalypse started. So this apocalypse can’t be the reason you started all this.”

“That’s because I was told what was going to happen even before the apocalypse started.”

“Told by who?”

“An oni. She was a beauty. She had long white hair, black angel like wings on her hips and black horns on her head. Her eyes were orange, the color of flames’

’Wait! Orange eyes?! That can’t be… I thought I was the only one”

“One thing I can tell you is that she had power stronger than anyone I had ever seen before. She easily overpowered me and my pack as if we were nothing but ants in her path. After she defeated us, she told me that the world would descend into chaos and that demons would fall from the sky. She said that I would need to assemble a pack strong enough to face it. After that she sunk her teeth into my neck and told me ways in which I could get stronger.”

As Danzo spoke a sense of uneasiness settled in stomach. So much so that I found myself trembling.

“What did she teach you to get you to level up so quickly” I asked.

“She told me where some cocoons would be.”

“Cocoons?”

“Yes, they belonged to Mothmen only they were hibernating. I destroyed them all. That is how I was able to level up and evolve so quickly”

This woman… who is she? Could she be one of the four horsemen.

“Another thing” there was one question that I desperately wanted to ask. It was a question I was dreading to ask.

“What is you bloodline?”

A crooked smile grew on Danzo’s face as he answered answered question.

“I am…”
