Chapter 179: Deception
Allucard grunted like a wounded animal as we landed blow after blow. With every hit, we took out one of his vitals, and before he could heal from the damage, we targeted another spot. But still, it was getting increasingly harder to land a hit.
Sylvie, Kaguya, and I carried out the main assault while Selthia and Kumo provided support from behind. We were in sync as we fought against Allucard. Our movements, a mixture of efficiency and ferocity.
Allucard was resilient. He healed almost instantly from any damage we did to him. Sylvie made use of her agility to land brutal and precise blows. Her claws tore through the air and found their way at Allucard’s throat.
Allucard couldn’t react to her as I also attacked at the same time. My claws poised to rip out his heart. But at the last second, Allucard shifted the tide of the battle. Blood spikes erupted from his body, almost skewering us in the process, forcing us to retreat.
“Lee!”
“I’m fine, Sylvie, are you okay?”
Sylvie rushed over to me to check if I was injured.
“She seems awfully protective of you,” Allucard chuckled. He looked as if he had gone mad. “I wonder how she’ll react when I kill you right in front of her.”
Hearing Allucard’s threatening words, Sylvie stood in front of me in an effort to protect me from the mad vampire. She bared her fangs and looked at Allucard with glowing orange eyes.
“Calm down, Sylvie,” I stroked her head. “He’s just trying to rile you up so you attack him carelessly again.”
“Sylvie has to protect Lee.”
“Remember what I told you? I won’t get hurt if you don’t get hurt. So take care of yourself first before you worry about me.”
She shook her head adamantly. She was too determined, but at least she calmed down a bit. Allucard watched our interaction with a wide grin on his face. He looked as if he was in complete control of the situation. As if nothing could touch him.
“Why are you holding back?” I asked. “I know you’re much more powerful than this.”
“I’m just having fun before I slaughter you all. You’re not worth the effort of me going all out. All of you are small fry.”
“Is that really the reason? I thought your actions seemed a bit strange, as if you were protecting someone.”
His smile wavered for just a second, but he didn’t break completely.
“Maybe it’s your wife.”
His smile finally broke, and his eyes turned sharp like a predator’s.
“You don’t know what you’re talking about. I suggest you refrain from saying anything else.” he threatened but I didn’t heed his warnings.
“She’s the real reason you haven’t gone all out, isn’t it? You’re afraid that she’ll get hurt. Most of your powerful vampires are upstairs guarding her as we speak. That shows how much you really care for her. What would you do if anything were to happen to her? Would you finally go all out then? Let’s find out.”
As if sensing something was about to happen, he burst forwards towards me, but he was too slow as I was gone in an instant. I switched places with the shadow hound that went upstairs.
I knew Allucard would come after me in an instant, so I had to act quickly. When I got upstairs, all the vampires guarding Allucard’s wife were already dead. I quickly made my way to her room, and there she was.
A beautiful red-haired woman sitting on the bed with her legs crossed. She was dressed in her nightgown as she nursed her pregnant stomach. When I saw her, I was taken aback by how beautiful she was, almost like a goddess. I instantly knew why Allucard treasured her so much.
Around her were the bodies of dead vampires left to guard her. Her lips curved upwards into a smirk the moment she saw me.
This was it.
It was finally the time to make use of the gift given to me from my Ghoul King bloodline.
My special organ: The eyes of deception.
[The special organ has been integrated. This organ was developed taking in host’s personality and genetics.]
…
The moment Liam left, Allucard descended into panic. He couldn’t allow anything to happen to his wife. The person he cherished the most in the whole world!
Without hesitation or sparing a thought for the others, he went to his wife, praying that she was still safe. If anything happened to her, he promised himself that the entire city would bleed as a result.
Within mere seconds, he was already upstairs, and the first thing he noticed were the vampires he left upstairs to guard her. They were all lying in a pool of their own blood. His heart skipped a beat when he saw them.
“Elena. If anything happens…”
Allucard’s entire body trembled in rage just from the thought. The dreadful pressure he was emitting caused the walls to cave in. In a flash of black smoke, he was already gone, and in an instant, he was at the entrance of the room.
What he saw shook his very existence when he gazed inside. He felt as if his whole world had come to an end. What he saw was the image of his bloodied wife.
His pregnant wife was lying on their bed, the bed they shared together, covered in her own blood. Her hand was on her pregnant stomach as if she was desperately trying to protect it. Beside her stood Liam with a smirk on his face, his claws dripping with blood.
But he didn’t pay him any mind as he rushed to his wife’s side. Even though he didn’t hear any heartbeat, he still prayed that she was alive. He held her in his arms as he shook her to try and wake her up.
“Elena, darling. Wake up, please.”
He pleaded with her over and over, but his prayers went completely unanswered. No matter how many times he called her name, she wouldn’t respond. Not now. Not ever. He would never get the chance to tell her how much he loved her ever again. Or the chance to hold his unborn child. The child that was a piece of him and a piece of her. The fantasy he dreamed of would never come through.
That thought filled him with unimaginable dread as he turned his sight to the one who caused his pain.
He felt a burning hatred deep inside his chest as he stared at the smile plastered on this person’s face. A single tear drop fell down his face.
“Oh, so you really did love her.”
“I’ll wipe you from the world for this,” Allucard mumbled bitterly, his voice trembling from the sheer amount of hate he was feeling at this moment. “You and everyone you know will die badly.”
As he spoke, a mass of red and black energy circled around him as a blood-forged sword manifested in his hand. Liam acted instantly as he saw this and swung his claws towards Allucard, aiming to rip out his heart, but in an instant, his hand was severed.
His chopped-off limbs fell to the ground before it could even get to Allucard. He didn’t even see it happen. Sensing the imminent danger, Liam tried to retreat, but even that he couldn’t do as his legs were cut off in the next second.
Allucard’s power corroded his flesh, making it impossible for him to heal from the damage. All he could do at that moment was desperately try to get away as Allucard coldly walked towards him.
Seeing Liam’s suffering gave Allucard a sliver of satisfaction, but it wasn’t enough. It wasn’t nearly enough for what he had done.
Allucard coldly walked towards Liam as he crawled on the ground desperately trying to get to the exit like a worm desperate for survival. Allucard looked at him with scorn before he suddenly appeared in front of him and kicked him.
Liam’s maimed body was sent crashing into the wall behind, but before he could even hit the ground, Allucard’s sword pierced his chest. It was a single blow to the heart. A blow which no supernatural creature could survive.
Allucard coldly watched the life drain from Liam’s eyes before allowing him to fall to the ground with a sickening thud. Allucard exhaled sharply causing steam to come from his mouth.
With Liam now dead, Allucard’s thoughts drifted to the girls Liam was fighting beside. He would make sure they all suffered the same fate.
With that single pursuit in mind, he turned towards the entrance of the room, and what he saw caused a chill to sliver up his spine. What he saw was the man he just killed sitting on his bed watching him.
Not only that, but he had a heart in his hand. A heart that seemed to have been ripped from his wife’s chest.
“Did that make you feel any better?”
“How? I just killed you!”
Allucard felt confused by what he was seeing with his own eyes, but seeing that bastard eating his wife’s heart, he couldn’t question it for another second. He appeared in front of Liam in an instant and with a single swing of his sword, he decapitated him.
Allucard felt his sword cut through Liam’s flesh. He watched his head fall from his body, and he was certain that he killed him, but just then.
“Excellently done. You’re really a master swordsman indeed.”
Allucard’s entire body ran cold as he gazed off to the side and saw the man he killed twice now. This time he was standing right beside him.
Allucard roared loudly and threw his sword to the ground. This time he decided to use his hands. He plunged his fist into Liam’s chest and ripped out his heart.
But just as before, another Liam appeared. It happened so many times that Allucard started to lose count. No matter how many times he killed him, he would appear again a few seconds later.
This went on for what felt like an eternity, and with every kill, Allucard felt as if he was losing his mind. He had killed countless Liams, but the person who murdered his wife just kept appearing no matter what he did.
At times, he would even watch that bastard kill his wife right in front of him, and every time, he would fail to save her. He couldn’t take it anymore, and soon he fell to his knees, defeated. This was the first time he had felt such despair.
And that was the moment he felt something. A mind-crippling headache hit him. It felt as if his mind was tearing apart. He fell to the ground, froth coming from his mouth, and that’s when he noticed two figures standing over him.
“Not again,” he cried through his agony. “Elena, run.”
He shouted to his wife but not only did his wife not listen, she stood beside the one who killed her. At this point, Allucard felt as if he was going crazy.
“Wow, you really did a number on him,” Elena chuckled to her companion standing beside her.
This companion was none other than the werewolf Liam. Liam said nothing, only stared at Allucard lying on the ground as he writhed in pain. He then spared a glance at Elena, Allucard’s pregnant wife.
Looking at her, he couldn’t help but feel slightly interested.
“So you are the witch of greed’s sister, huh?” he asked.
Elena’s cherry pink lips curved up into a smile as she flashed him a wink.
“The witch of lust, but you can call me Aphrodite.”
