Chapter 146: The Days as usual

The next morning, when I woke up, Isabella’s mother was still lying unconscious next to me. It looked like the venom had done its job. I needed to figure out what to do with her, but I needed her weak and starving for us to have a proper conversation, hence why I pumped her up with lamia venom.

It wouldn’t kill her since her body would keep regenerating, but if a regular person were to get hit by this venom, it would melt them from the inside out, turning their organs into mush. Lamias had the most potent venom in the supernatural world.

Speaking of lamias, I could hear the sound of one slithering towards my room, and shortly after, a soft knock came on the door. I beckoned the person on the outside to enter, and immediately Asia came in.

The beautiful blonde lamia was still dressed in her maid outfit with an apron around her waist. She greeted me with a kind smile; the tips of her pointed ears were bright pink, something that seemed to happen when she was happy.

“Good morning, master.”

“Good morning, Asia. I hope you slept well,” I said as I casually strode out of bed.

“Yes, thank you. I had a good night’s rest. Thank you for asking.”

Apart from her face looking a little pale, she seemed to be fine.

“Papa wanted me to invite you and the others to breakfast with him. We’ll be having golden lamb meat this morning. Papa ordered it just for you. But before you go, would you like me to show you to the washroom?”

“I assume you guys have hot water?”

She nodded her head.

“Yes, of course. The light bulbs, the hot water, everything here is run by the witches’ magic.” She explained.

I already figured that was the case by questioning Ember. Everything here is run by magic crystals, but only the witches know that. Everyone else thinks it’s the witches’ power.

“I see. Don’t worry about showing me to the wash room, I think I’ll be able to find it on my own. But what I really need your help with is this vampire. I need you to keep her in this state by constantly pumping her up with your venom. Can you do that for me?”

She didn’t even question it. In the human world, something like this would earn me more than a few suspicious gazes or even land me in jail. But here, no one even batted an eye as to why I was carrying an unconscious woman around.

“Of course. I’ll supply her with my venom at least 18 times a day. She’s a powerful vampire, and my venom isn’t as powerful as Papa’s, so it will take that many.”

“Thank you. Your help means a lot,” I said before leaving the room and going for the bath.

The bath was crowded by others who were also staying there but nonetheless I enjoyed it. The hot bath gave me time to think about my next move. A few minutes later, I arrived at the room, but I had to wait for a while until the girls showed up.

“You guys are late,” I said, when I saw all five of them walking towards me.

“Hmph! It’s all because of Sylvie; her antics made me take longer than usual bathing her,” Selthia said, folding her arms.

“You bathe her?” I questioned with a slightly raised eyebrow. Now that I think about it, Selthia always brought Sylvie with her whenever she was took a bath, but I thought it was just a girl thing where they bathe together. I never thought that she would actually be the one washing her.

“If she’s going to be close to my darling, then I have to make sure she’s clean,” Selthia said as if it was no big deal. “The pervert isn’t so bad, though; she takes good care of herself. If only she stopped stealing your undies, then she would actually be decent.”

Kumo’s face turned bright red.

“Darling, I swear! She’s lying! I didn’t mean to!”

“Oops,” Selthia covered her mouth, looking at Kumo with an amused smile on her face. “Was that supposed to be a secret? My bad.”

“Darling, can I kill her?”

Kumo’s eyes glowed with a murderous glint of orange and two more pairs of eyes appeared on the top of her head as she stared down Selthia.

“It’s fine, Kumo,” I reached my hand out and patted her on the head to calm her down. “It’s not a big deal. No need to get worked up over something so small.”

“It really is?” Her eyes returned to normal, and her expression softened as she stared up at me. “You don’t think I’m some disgusting pervert?… Oh, Darling!”

“And you, Selthia,” I reached my hand out to Selthia, but she squinted, maybe afraid that I would be upset with her. “Good job for looking out for Sylvie. You really are like her big sis, even if you pretend to hate her.”

I patted Selthia on the head and gave her a kind smile. She lowered her head, looking embarrassed as a small blush appeared beneath her cheeks.

“Hmph! I don’t pretend.”

Seeing that I was patting Kumo and Selthia on the head, someone else started to get jealous. With both hands occupied from patting Kumo and Selthia’s heads, I gave Sylvie the next best thing. I leaned in and gave her a kiss on the cheek.

“Um… Er… Good job for not arguing with them,” I had to give her some sort of praise, or else she wouldn’t be satisfied.

“Oh, Lee!”

Sylvie smiled before jumping on top of me, wrapping her arms and legs around me tightly, her tail dancing excitedly behind her. Witnessing this, Ember and Khalissi shook their heads both with different emotions on their faces.

While I was happy to spend time with the girls, but I couldn’t help feeling as if I was missing someone.

Strangely enough, I’ve begun to miss the feeling of Isabella sneaking in for a midnight snack. I missed her mood swings and teasing her whenever I got the chance.

I’ve realized that it isn’t just her who can’t live without me; I also can’t live without her.

’I’ll rescue her wherever she is. Even if I had to flip over this city to find her.’

“The four of you are something else,” Khalissi said while the witch nodded and looked away.

“I have room for two more,” I teased.

The witch scowled at me before walking away, while Khalissi merely shook her head.

“I told you already that my heart and body already belong to someone else,” Khalissi said.

“How committed are you to this person?”

She smiled at my question.

“They are the sole reason I’ve remained a virgin for over a thousand years. That’s how committed I am.”
