Chapter 66: Her First Laugh

Sylvie looked at me, confused, as she chowed down on the raw meat.

“It will taste much better if you properly prepare the meat. Here, let me do it.”

I had learned a lot about skinning and preparing animal meat from Nyra. She had taught me everything she knew. First, I used my claws to rid the boar of its fur and skin, then I went ahead and removed all its internal organs and drained it of its blood.

I then prepared a fire and skewered the dead animal on a stick. Sylvie watched on with a pouty expression on her face. She was clearly getting impatient with what I was doing, but after a while, her pouty expression was gone, and she looked as if she was drooling.

The smell of the boar meat wafted through the air, and even to me, it smelled appetizing. It only took a few minutes after that for the meat to be properly cooked. Sylvie looked impatient as I sliced the meat into thin slices and handed it to her.

The moment she took a bite, a deep pink blush appeared on her face, and she quickly wolfed down her share of the meal before I could finish mine. She looked at the slice of meat I was eating, and then I heard a loud rumble come from her stomach.

“Are you still hungry?” I asked, but she quickly shook her head to deny it.

“It’s fine if you are; have some of mine,” I offered a share of the meal, but she only stared at it hesitantly. But suddenly, as if she couldn’t hold back anymore, she lunged at me and grabbed the meat out of my hand.

As soon as her jaws latched onto the meal, I spun her over and pinned her down to the ground.

“If you want it, then you’ll have to wrestle me for it.”

The moment I said that, a smile appeared on her face as she tried to grab the meat from me. The two of us wrestled on the ground for I don’t know how long. Derrick and I used to wrestle just like this when we were younger. I wondered if Sylvie had anyone to wrestle with. It was somewhat a tradition for wolves to help us get stronger. That’s why I wanted her to experience it. I wanted her to experience everything.

The two of us wrestled back and forth for the scrap of meat that was left. She took our match seriously and tried her best to grab it from my hand. She was fast, but she could easily be tricked with just a bit of misdirection.

Through our tussle, I saw that she was holding back quite a bit, as if she was afraid to hurt me. Though her bites were painful, they didn’t break through my skin, and she didn’t even use her claws. She lunged at me at full force, using her superior agility against me.

I nimbly evaded her attack and grabbed her by the arm. In one fluid motion, I flipped her over so she was lying on the ground. I then entangled her hands with mine so she couldn’t move. After that, she was completely at my mercy. I then went after a seemingly obvious weakness she had and began tickling her sides.

The moment I touched her side, she began squirming, and then the most beautiful laughter I had ever heard erupted from her. It was so mesmerizing that I started laughing too.

I wonder if this was the first time she had ever laughed.

In our tussle, I then grabbed a hold of her tail, and it caused her entire body to shudder. It was waving so much that I could hardly fight the urge not to.

“Eeep!”

immeddaiet as I grabbed her tail, her face turned bright red, and her legs went weak. She then quickly crossed her legs as if hiding something.

“Bad Lee!”

She glared at me, and her breathing turned into ragged gasps for air. I didn’t know what I had done wrong, but I didn’t dwell on it as I immediately launched at her and began tickling her sides again.

The two of us laughed and played together for hours until we ran out of energy, and both of us collapsed to the ground.

When we were done, both of us were breathing heavily as we lay on the ground and stared up at the dazzling sun in the sky. I felt satisfied about how I had spent my day with Sylvie. The two of us lay quietly; the only sound was our ragged breathing until Sylvie finally spoke up.

“Umm, Lee?”

“Hmm?”

“Last night, you asked Sylvie to join your pack…”

Oh, that’s right, I had. When I asked her to join my pack, she hadn’t given me an answer. I didn’t want to force her, so I had just left it, thinking that I had been rejected, but now…

“Sylvie does want to join Lee’s pack. Sylvie wants to be with Lee forever.” Her face held a slight blush. “Does Lee want the same?”

Hearing her words, I felt happy, and a smile appeared on my face. I then patted her on the head.

“I do want to be with you too, Sylvie.”

She smiled at me, and I swear it was the most beautiful smile in the world. I held her hand, and the two of us continued to lie together.

Our bond was increasing, and every time it did, I felt myself grow stronger. After about half an hour of us just lying down, Sylvie began to grow restless. Soon, her restlessness grew even further, and it caused her to climb on top of me. She sat down on my waist and grabbed my shoulders.

“Lee, Sylvie is bored. Want to hunt monsters?”

“There are no monsters for miles around us.”

She pouted.

“How about we go to the river instead?” I suggested.

“The river?”

“Yes. It’s not far from here. We can go for a swim.”

In fact, I could hear the running of water from where we were lying down.

“Okay, let’s go,” Sylvie answered, and before I could react, she practically dragged me to my feet.

I stretched my aching body, preparing myself for the next journey ahead, but just as I did that, Sylvie hopped onto my back.

“Giddy up~” she shouted as she wrapped her legs around me.

“Hmm? Why do you need to be carried? Your injuries are mostly healed.”

“Because Lee lost to Sylvie in the race, remember? The loser has to give a piggyback ride.”

“Uh? Is that how it is? I don’t remember agreeing to that deal.”

“Giddy up~” she shouted again, eager for me to start moving. I sighed tiredly before willing my legs to go toward the river.

When we finally got to the river, Sylvie climbed down from my back before proceeding to strip off her clothes without any hesitation. I was about to stop her, but then I realized she was wearing undergarments.

Seeing her naked I was once again reminded of just how beautiful she was. Her curves were that of a diamond crafted to perfection. It was otherworldly to say the least. I consider myself a lucky man to be able to experience this wonderful scenery.

“Hurry up, Lee.”

at her words, I stopped staring at her and began taking off my clothes. I barely got my clothes off before she dragged me into the water with her.
